4 out of 5 eggsGood RAM

Pros: The RAM runs perfect at a high speed, very good for APU's.

Cons: My first kit was dead, but the second one after RMA worked just fine. I wasn't able to overclock to 2400MHz but not a big deal.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear the memory is running perfectly at high speed. This memory kit is great for APUs as it provides a high speed bandwidth for the integrated graphics, and the low Voltage keeps the CPU and entire system nice and cool. This memory kit is capable of overclocking, the 1.50V may need to be increased upward to 1.65V. If you would like help or tips with this, visit the Official G.Skill forum and there will be many users similar to yourself that can help. The G.Skill support representatives are also available to assist you. With G.Skill, you get the best product, performance, warranty, service, and support.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Good memory.

Cons: Unfortunately my Asrock Z68 motherboard was not compatible with 4 sticks of this.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. This is a 2 stick (DIMM) memory kit, so it is only guaranteed to operate at DDR3-2133 CL11 1.50V with the two modules included in each kit. If you use two kits in the same computer, those specifications are no longer guaranteed. If you would like 16GB, it is best to purchase a 2 x 8GB kit, or 4 x 4GB kit for optimal performance. Also, keep in mind not all CPUs can support full slots of DDR3-2133, so that may also be an issue. Contact the G.Skill support team and they will make sure your computer is operating at maximum performance.

1 out of 5 eggsOne Stick Defective

Pros: If you are lucky and get 2 sticks that actually work then you will love it.
They look great

Cons: I have the ram sticks for 8 months and a few days. At my 3rd month of owning these sticks, i started having ram issues. NOTE that i did NOT overclock them. I used them at the standard rates that they come with. Today one of the sticks gave up. My pc would not start and had to actually trouble shoot for a few hours before i realized that my ram had actually given up. I was disappointed to see my ram die since it is from such a well known manufacturer.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

We are sorry to hear you had such issues. Since the memory kit is above standard, it is imperative to manually input settings even if you want them to run at standard specifications. For this memory kit, you can run them at DDR3-1333 8-8-8-24 1.50V or DDR3-1600 9-9-9-24 1.50V. Without the proper settings, the BIOS can change values upon each boot up and that is not good for stability. Complete the RMA procedure online and we can send you new modules. Once you receive the new replacement, configure basic RAM settings, then the computer should be fast and reliable. If you need any assistance, feel free to contact us directly and we will be glad to help.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works well, though a little hotter then I would prefer.
Most motherboards will require you to set the speed and voltage manually (not problem, just annoying).

Cons: Ram has to have 1.6v to run stable at 2133MHz.

5 out of 5 eggsEh looks and great performance

Pros: Always higher quality memory. I upgraded one of my older computers with the same amount of memory and usage dropped 20%.Got this for my new gaming computer along with a i3-4330 and a gtx 760 and the performance is great.

Cons: I like the simpler heat spreaders on the lower end models but this is overshadowed by my cpu cooler anyway so not much to see.

3 out of 5 eggsUnstable at 2133, but solid at 1866

Pros: Look good. Work nicely at 1866.

Cons: I bought these to make a low-end gaming PC with a AMD APU. I know that APUs work better with higher speed RAM, so I paid a little more to get 2133 capability. Unfortunately, when I run the RAM at 2133 (with a variety of timings attempted), my system goes very unstable - basically, whenever I do anything video intensive (like, say, playing a game) I get about 15 minutes of play before my screen goes completely black and my system is completely nonresponsive.

Everything is rock-steady at 1866 (and has been for 1.5 months now), so I know it's the RAM. I e-mailed G.Skill tech support to get some suggestions for how to make it better, but never got a reply. Like I said, they run fine at 1866 and it's more than fast enough for my needs, so I'm not horribly upset, but just a warning that they might not be the most stable at 2133 for you either.

Other Thoughts: As others have said, they're a little tall, so don't buy them if you're worried about space above your RAM slots.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

Glad to hear you think the memory looks good and they work nicely in your system. We can surely help you reach the rated specifications. Not all CPUs can natively support DDR3-2133, so you may have one that needs to be tweaked in order to fully stabilize DDR3-2133. The common solution is to raise the CPU-NB Voltage to boost the memory controller and that should allow the system to be stable with high speed RAM. Should you continue to have issues, please feel free to contact us directly and we will be glad to assist you. If unable to reach us via email, telephone and forum support is also available for your convenience. Once you get a hold of us, we will make sure the RAM operates at maximum performance. With regards to heat spreader clearance, the modules are 38mm tall, so they will clear most large aftermarket CPU coolers, but they may have issues in small form factor cases. We can confirm or answer any questions you may have.
