5 out of 5 eggsStill Going Strong

Pros: Bought these with the rebuild of my computer over two years ago. They have not had any problems and I am quite pleased. Diagnosing RAM issues can be a real pain. I came back to upgrade to 16gb.

Cons: None to think of.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Looking & Performing Memory

Pros: I love the blue of these sticks. Matched with the rig I was building.

As far as performance, I upgraded from a 4GB, so noticeably a big difference.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsG.Skill is still G.Killer!

Pros: Runs cool
Good looks
Great performance

Cons: No LEDs, lol

Other Thoughts: Love the Ripjaws series, been running them in the last couple rigs I've built. They have maximum performance at a competitive price and they always look great. I wish they would make at least one model that has LEDs, love that look like the Ballistix Tactical Tracer. But this was for my sons rig and he just needed some good solid RAM he could count on, so needless to say, Ripjaws was the choice. No OC yet, may not, he only plays WoW.

5 out of 5 eggsStill going strong

Pros: It has been almost a year since I bought these. They are still going strong and running at the advertised speed.I put these in an Asus A88X-pro motherboard and had the bios detect the timing, speed and voltage. It found the settings with no problem. Games run very smooth. Best memory I have had the pleasure of buying. Great price also if you compare to other brands.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Deal

Pros: Great memory for the price. Purchased during a Black Friday special with a promo code on top of the reduced price. Installs easily and goes great with a blue LED build. Easy to OC if wanting to maximize full 2133 capability. I can finally pile on the addons while I play!

Cons: The item description can be somewhat misleading; these sticks actually come factory set at 1600, not 2133. You'll need to OC them if you want the full utility. With the Gigabyte board I purchased, this was just a couple of clicks in the BIOS.

Other Thoughts: Would have bought another set if I had been working with a bigger budget.

5 out of 5 eggsPerforms as expected.

Pros: It's blue, which was a pro for me because it matches a blue themed motherboard. It is completely stable at the advertised speed. I ran memtest86 on it for 10 hours with no issue. This is the quality I have come to expect from G.Skill products.

Cons: None. This memory performs exactly as promised.

Other Thoughts: This is not low profile memory, so depending on your particular application, you may want to make sure it's going to clear your heatsink. For me it fit fine in DDR channel 1 with a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus heatsink, in a MSI Z97S SLI motherboard.

4 out of 5 eggsRipjaws X Series 8gb (2133)

Pros: Fast, durable, and good value.

Cons: Proved to be a little difficult to achieve 2133. Every blue moon I receive an "overclocking failed" message from my Crosshair formula V BIOS and it makes me go back through setup (which is quick). Not sure if this is the ram or the BIOS failing.

Dont let that scare you though. Been running 16gb at 2133 for almost 3 years now and it will handle all the virtual machines i throw at it.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear the memory is working fast in your system. This is a high performance memory kit at a low price, so it is definitely a good value. Depending on CPU used, DDR3-2133 may not be fully supported, especially 4 modules. But there are ways around this so if you contact us directly, we would be more than glad to provide the necessary tweaks to bypass limitations. In your particular case, sounds like you may need a little boost to the CPU-NB Voltage +0.1V, and that should solve the occassional error message. The ASUS Crosshair V Formula is great at automatically supplying additional voltage, but if you manually set the necessary amount, that should allow the system to be consistent. For any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to let us know.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsGood

Pros: I dont have problems with anything elpida makes no matter what name is on the outside like G.Skill- Kingston-Team-AData. All elpida products work well. It auto clocked for me in my MSI, no jerking around like people trying to use it older style computers

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: This is not going to fix a 4 year old computer that had memory problems to start with.. IN a memory mfg process about 5 of 100 sticks come off the line bad. Out of that about 1 in 300 make it into the hands of a consumer. Those are conservative numbers. If you think you received 2 or 4 bad sticks in a row maybe your problem is somewhere else. Time to rely that common sense and grade school math..

5 out of 5 eggsG.Skill Delivers.

Pros: -Price per performance is phenomenal. I will never understand why a single informed consumer would ever choose corsair over G.Skill... or any other brand for that matter.
-SiSoftware Sondra's Memory Bandwidth benchmark reports ~28GBps and the Cache & Memory Latency benchmark reports ~20ns.
-XMP worked great with my Asus Z97-A.
-For now, I'm running this memory with the XMP timings (9-11-10-28) but at 2200MHz rather than 2133Mhz. It works flawlessly and i can't wait to see how far I can push it.

Cons: -G.Skill has captured me as a loyal customer... Is that a bad thing though?

Other Thoughts: I bought another pair of these because they were on sale last week. They should be arriving tomorrow. I can't wait :)
