2 out of 5 eggsNot Working

Pros: I have only read good things from this RAM and cant wait to get it working but from what I have experienced its starting to become very much annoying

Cons: I have an ASUS M5A99X EVO R2.O board which is compatible with this module however I have tried it in every slot on my board however my system doesn't display anything. I just get a no signal message from my monitor. This module has been tested in other boards and worked.I have used another ram stick to boot up and placed the G Skill in a different slot my bios reads it but still doesn't allow me to use it in windows.I have changed the bios settings to match that of the G Skill module but it still doesn't boot up. Of course if I can get it to work I will write a proper review

Dear Customer

We will be glad to help with this issue. If the module is proven to work in another motherboard, then there may be an issue with the ASUS M5A99X EVO board you are using. Double check CPU pins and installation and try again. Considering the other RAM did not work in this system either, most likely it is not a problem with RAM. Also, make sure you have the latest BIOS for the motherboard. The RAM is surely compatible with any ASUS motherboard, it is plug and play. Should you continue to have a problem or need any answers to your questions, please don't hesitate to let us know. We will be glad to help you in any way we can or help you find solutions.

4 out of 5 eggsDid it's job

Pros: Works for me can't really notice anything wrong

Cons: A little on the pricey side, and soon to be phased out.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear the memory works well in your computer. This is a very popular memory kit as it provides easy plug and play performance. The model is definitely not nearing end of life, so you can expect to see this for sale for many more years to come. 8GB is a good amount for any build, it is sufficient for gaming, multi-tasking, video streaming, and more. If you have a dual channel motherboard, add another module in the future and the performance can be even better. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

3 out of 5 eggsIntermittent

Pros: I like the look and the price.

Cons: Worked fine at first. Started getting random PC crashes while gaming. Made sure voltage was set at 1.5v (motherboard had defaulted to 1.59v) and changed command rate from 1N to 2N after reading this could help. It did for a day or so then the crashes started again. Failing Windows Memory Diagnostic and Memtest86 repeatedly. I've submitted one RMA request to G Skill with no response and just submitted a second. I'm sure it's great when it's not a bad stick but the process has been a bit frustrating.

Other Thoughts: If I get a response to my RMA and get a good working unit I'd be happy to change my review to a more positive one.

Dear Customer

Glad to hear you like the heat spreader design of the RipJaws X series. It is one of the most popular memory kits on NewEgg. With a system that supports 8GB modules, this memory should work great. With regards to the RMA process, if you do not hear back from us within a couple days, check your SPAM folder as some emails with attachments may be directed into there. Feel free to get in contact with us as well, we will be glad to help you directly and provide you a status update. Once you send the RAM to us, we can have a new module out to you immediately. For any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to let us know.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: Looks cool...

Cons: My first GSkill purchase and it didn't work. Wasn't really impressed with that at all. And was even less impressed that I had to shell out another 10 bucks to have it shipped back for something that wasn't my fault.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer

Glad to hear you like the sleek heat spreader design of the RipJaws X series. This is one of the most popular memory kits on NewEgg. It is strange the memory did not work at all. If the computer supports 8GB per slot of DDR3, this memory kit should be compatible. If you believe the RAM is defective, feel free to send it in for RMA exchange to see if a replacement works better. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.
