5 out of 5 eggsNo Issues So Far

Pros: I haven't had any issues with these sticks, yet. 2, 8GB sticks is plenty of RAM. Had the cost been cheaper, I would have purchased another set.

Cons: I wouldn't say this is specific to this product, but the cost was higher than I'd prefer - at least compared to what I remember RAM costing a year or two ago, but

5 out of 5 eggsIt works

Pros: What can I say, most ram is ram. It works and does what it is supposed to do.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: When I bought this RAM it was about less than half the cost of what it is right now ($144). At that cost I would definitely pick a cheaper brand or wait until RAM prices come down in general.

5 out of 5 eggsPleasantly surprised.

Pros: Both sticks passed an entire night of memtest86+ v5.01 with no errors at the specified 1600 speed. Performance is definitely improved over my older DDR2 800 RAM I had installed in my old desktop.

While the RAM has a fancy looking heatsink, they do not appear to get warm to the touch which is excellent.

Came up as 1333MHz RAM out of the box, but setting my BIOS to 1600MHz was as simple as selecting custom RAM settings and selecting XMP Profile 1, done. While not automatic, was definitely easier than RAM settings I had to tweak in the past.

Cons: So far no cons. RAM installed physically snug but not too tight as to be a concern. Also heatsinks appeared to be firmly affixed to the DIMM modules. Passed an all nighter running memtest86+ and do not run hot.

Hope they last as long as all of the other RAM I've purchased in the past and if not that they honor their warranty which is what attracted me to this brand.

Other Thoughts: Pleasantly surprised.

First RAM brand I trusted over 10 years ago was Crucial/Micron. They turned out to be really expensive and while they did not fail, they also did not perform above spec at all. And buying 2 of the same part number a few months apart yielded 2 physically different DDR DIMM modules. This was unacceptable to me.

So naturally for my next upgrade I started considering other brands. Next purchase was DDR Mushkin, those parts failed like a year or 2 after I bought them, unfortunate, but Mushkin did replace them no questions asked, good.

For my next build, I bought a really cheap OCZ DDR2 800MHz kit. For the price, I got really lucky. 5 years later it's still working flawlessly. Don't have experience with OCZ's warranty as I got lucky and it did not fail.

However now that OCZ is on the way out and Mushkin is a bit pricey and was my only experience with bad RAM, I needed to try another brand. Never used G.Skill before and was concerned about trying them. I didn't want it to be a bad decision. Well, I decided to go with G.Skill for the price, but mainly because G.Skill appears to be serious about standing by their warranty which is what saved my opinion of Mushkin. While I haven't bought each brand more than once (or twice in the case of Crucial) I have the highest opinion of Mushkin for their no questions asked warranty so G.Skill may now also become my new favorite, especially if I never have to take advantage of it.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat solid, fast memory.

Pros: Bought this at the end of 2012 and it has been solid since . I paid 70$ dollars for this memory, should have bought ten of them.

Cons: None, the price now.

Other Thoughts: The set clock when installed 1333mz as others have mentioned. No problem switching it over.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Ram!

Pros: This RAM is fantastic. I have had these two sticks for a few months now, and they have functioned perfectly thus far. Not a single problem!

Cons: You have to go into the BIOS and set them to 1600Mhz as they default to 1333, no big deal.

Other Thoughts: Highly recommended!
