5 out of 5 eggsDid exactly what I needed

Pros: Fast, easy to install and never have had any issue with the sticks not running properly

Cons: Only two cons I can think of. Slightly large sticks (though I wasn't buying for form factor at all) and more important, the price point seems a bit high. Once you start getting into the upper regions of RAM for non enterprise users the prices get extremely high and this is no different.

Other Thoughts: I'd still most likely buy these again when building a new computer unless getting DDR4

5 out of 5 eggsFASTTTTT

Pros: Great RAM. I used this to replace some old RAM I had that went bad. I have a BIOSTAR TH67+ Mobo. Plugged this RAM, booted up, done.

It sees all 32GB with Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

Cons: None

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Good price. Nice looking heatsink and using only 1.5V, which is good for Intel CPUs. Passed memTest86+ with no errors. XMP enabled and run at 1600MHz with 1 change in the BIOS.

Cons: Incompatible with EVGA X79 Dark. I spent many hours troubleshooting as my newly built system would not install Windows 7 without freezing. After installation, it would randomly restart, sometimes BSDOs with different error messages. I ran everything at stock speed and without XMP (so at 1333MHz) and still it would do the same thing. I could be moving my mouse cursor and all of a sudden the system just restarted. After swapping out power supply, video card, tried different BIOS, I finally bit the bullet and changed out the RAM. And voila, no more random restart/blue screen.

Other Thoughts: The issue is more with EVGA X79 Dark than with this memory, so I only deduct an Egg. However, if you have that motherboard and thinking of buying this memory, my advice is don't do it. My set up -
i7 4930k (stock speed, no overclock)
EVGA X79 Dark
Crucial memory @1600MHz 8x8GB
EVGA GTX 660
850W Gold PSU

Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear you got the RAM at a good price. This low voltage memory kit is great for any new build. Most processors can support the frequency, and the high capacity will allow the operating system to remain nice and smooth even if you have every program open and running. With a supported motherboard and capable CPU, enable XMP and the RAM will run at full speed. If you have any problem, test one module at a time with XMP enabled to see if they can each pass properly. If so, they should work fine together. Should problem persist, contact us directly and we will be glad to help.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsOver 1 year going strong. 24/7

Pros: - 1600 Ram
- 8GB sticks
- Runs 24/7 no issues

Cons: - None

Other Thoughts: I bought 2 (64GB) packs for price of these about year ago. All ram has increased and not something specific to G.Skill. Ram has been working perfect at 1600 24/7 for past year.

2 out of 5 eggsGskill needs to step up

Pros: Great speed for the cost, great amount.

Cons: This arrived with some bad ram, one of the sticks out of the 4 is bad. It has cost me countless hours and money troubleshooting this.

The issue that it would cause is a complete machine reboot when the bad ram got to whatever point that was corrupted. The machine would come off and back on but only when the bad ram was accessed.

(The board is supported and its at 1600 in XMP profile mode)
Moral of the story, spend time researching ram and the manf. I've never had this issue with ram, I've tried two different motherboards and the issue persists with both.

Other Thoughts: I'd probably buy gskill again if a product had high reviews. Very unhappy with this set.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. When having stability issues, consider testing modules individually to see if they all perform the same or if a module performs differently. This can rule out whether the memory is causing problems. Each DIMM should pass with XMP enabled, if not, send them in for RMA exchange and a new kit should work much better. For all further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly. The G.Skill support team will make sure RAM is working fast and stable in your computer.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsGreat RAM & Company

Pros: Purchased this RAM in 2012 and it is fast. Great design, works stable. I use a lot of memory (virtual machines) and I can definitely say I'm happy with this purchase. Lifetime warranty which is good because one DIMM died.

Cons: One dead DIMM after 2 years. GSKILL RMA was fast and the replacement DIMM works fine (passes memtest86). No questions ask.

Other Thoughts: I still giving this 5 eggs because although a dimm died, the RMA process was easy and fast.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Ram

Pros: This memory has served me well and does exactly what it is suppose to do. I've had no problems with it since I ordered it and put it in my daughter's gaming computer I built.

Cons: No Cons here. Memory is great.

Other Thoughts: My other thoughts is that not only do you have to know your hardware but you should also know your operating systems. Win7 for example. You're limited to so many GB of memory per operating version of Win7 rather it be 32 bit or even 64 bit All 32 bit is limited to 4GB of memory. Windows 7 Pro and Ultimate, the limit is 192 GB. Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit is limited to 16 GB of memory. The operating system will say "32GB (16GB Usable)" Know what you're doing before you start building or it can be a long process getting it right.
