5 out of 5 eggsGreat Ram

Pros: This memory has served me well and does exactly what it is suppose to do. I've had no problems with it since I ordered it and put it in my daughter's gaming computer I built.

Cons: No Cons here. Memory is great.

Other Thoughts: My other thoughts is that not only do you have to know your hardware but you should also know your operating systems. Win7 for example. You're limited to so many GB of memory per operating version of Win7 rather it be 32 bit or even 64 bit All 32 bit is limited to 4GB of memory. Windows 7 Pro and Ultimate, the limit is 192 GB. Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit is limited to 16 GB of memory. The operating system will say "32GB (16GB Usable)" Know what you're doing before you start building or it can be a long process getting it right.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat RAM

Pros: Great RAM for the price...I bought this for half off during a weekend sale.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: To the few people who have stated that they cannot get the 32gb of RAM to register in their system; make SURE you have Windows Professional or Ultimate installed on your machine, otherwise you will not be able to support the 32gb.

1 out of 5 eggsNo Good Deal Goes Unpunished

Pros: I bought this at half the regular cost

Cons: I have been researching for the last 9 months trying to find an answer as to why this ram will not read as 32 Gb. My set up is as follows:
Z77 Sabertooth
i7-3770k
850w
evga gtx 680
2 samsung 256 Gb. ssd's (striped)
3 Wd Reds 2Tb (striped)
H100

I've been having constant freezing. The entire computer would freeze for about 20-30 seconds. Now, I could blame it on a lot of things. Seeing as how this is the only thing that is VERY APPERENT in it's short comings. You get the finger.

I have looked high and low and tried everything under the sun to get these chips to 32. It just isn't happening. It's been a "side" project to figure this problem out. I use that term loosely though. This will be the first and last time I use G.Skill Seeing as how I started seeing this exact same problem popping up on some of their other chip sets as well. Corsair just won itself a customer.

Maybe if these large companies were more transparent in how their products compatabilities and possible fixes, posts like these wouldn't happen. I shouldn't have to call or e-mail someone to get an answer. I should be on the page where the product is. NOT just a generic pull down menu that just says "compatible".

People are ignorant, I get it. But your the one we're paying. We don't get paid to write the complaints, we paid you to make our lives easier. If there is a fix for this somewhere out there, and I haven't found it. That's on you.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

We can surely assist you with this. If you are having missing capacity issues, test each module individually to make sure it shows 8GB total for each. If so, there should not be a problem with the RAM. Then test 2 modules at a time in dual channel to see if they detect 16GB, and finally test all 4 modules if two test fine. Make sure the modules are firmly installed, if so, all 32GB should be automatically detected. If only half of the modules are being detected, it may be a defective motherboard. You can try other RAM to determine whether that is the case. This G.Skill memory kit is perfectly compatible with your motherboard and CPU, so you should have no problem at all. If you have problems, simply contact the G.Skill technical support team and they will be glad to help you. You don't need to troubleshoot or have any headaches, like you said, you pay us to make your life easier. But the only way we know you have a problem is if you contact us. Once you do that, we will make sure the RAM is working fast and stable in your computer.

2 out of 5 eggsNot as advertised

Pros: Heat spreaders aren't as big as some. Two of these is cheaper to get 64gb then buyin gthe 8x8 set which is what I did. All 8 worked out of the package.

Cons: As many have stated you need to increase the frequency in BIOS from 1333 to 1600. However, if I do that only half of the ram is "seen" in BIOS and in windows. S

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

The memory is as advertised. If you only use a single kit of RAM (32GB) in your system, it will work flawlessly. Since the RAM is above standard, enable the XMP Profile in BIOS/EFI, then everything is ready to go. It is not advertised that two separate memory kits can work at the rated values in a single computer. This is why 64GB kits are available. 64GB kits are pre-matched, tested, and guaranteed to operate at the stated values. By purchasing two separate kits of RAM and attempting them in a single system, the rated values of the RAM are no longer guaranteed. It is possible to have issues such as what you are experiencing, which is why we recommend using only a single kit of RAM if you are looking for trouble-free installation. By using two separate RAM kits in a single system, you may need to lower frequency or increase timings to have the two kits work smoothly. We can assist you with this, but if you would like to run DDR3-1600 CL10, you will need to exchange the RAM for a single 64GB memory kit such as the G.Skill F3-12800CL10Q2-64GBZL. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

5 out of 5 eggsGood for the price

Pros: 32 gb 1600 for $166
32gb is a lot, maxes out my x79 board. But I figured why upgrade later. Just go all out now.
If I end up having too much ill turn 16gb of it into a ram disk and put my favorite game on it.

Cons: Clocked in at 1333 default, easily switched in bios to 1600

Other Thoughts: Installation was easy, I haven't installed ram in 5 years. Almost forgot which way it went. Didn't hurt the ram at all. Turned it around and it popped right in.

4 out of 5 eggsFirst G.Skill Failure

Pros: Quality modules. G.Skill packages their RAM well and takes pride in not only presentation, but the manufacture and overall quality of their products. All 4 DIMMs tested flawlessly upon arrival and I even used all 32 GB of addressable space stitching several 10 gigapixel+ panoramas together. The RAM worked flawlessly and was lightning fast.

Cons: Didn't immediately POST at 1600Mhz, but that's no fault of G.Skill's. Quick trip to BIOS fixed that right up. I operated them at 1600Mhz without issue until the first week of January 2013, when I started having a lot of problems with Windows booting. "No Hard Disk Detected. Press Ctrl-Alt-Del to reboot". At first I thought my HDD was gone (it's 4 years old) but a quick memtest led me to believe my motherboard was at fault. I swapped the RAM into another board (AMD instead of my default Intel board) and the same errors came up: several million at the same point in the test and at the same address range. I'm still a little shocked a G.Skill product died on me, but glad they come with a lifetime warranty.

Other Thoughts: I've been a system builder for a decade and since I switched to G.Skill 5 years ago, this is the first kit I've had fail me. Purchased 7/25/2012, so I got just over 5 months out of them. I hope the RMA process will go smoothly and will update my review accordingly.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear the memory worked flawlessly and was lightning fast. Based on your test results, sounds like a module may be defective. Please send it in for RMA and a replacement should work flawlessly. Unfortunately, due to the nature of DRAM, random defects can happen. For that reason, all G.Skill memory kits are backed by a lifetime warranty. At any time a module does not work properly, we can have it replaced without question. The G.Skill RMA process is quick and hassle free, so you will receive new modules shortly. For any further questions or concerns, feel free to contact us directly.
