4 out of 5 eggsOne bad stick out of box

Pros: I have used G Skill Mem in other pc builds including my own. Have been reliable and stood the test of time.

Cons: When I installed them in the build one stick would not show in bios ... kinda a bummer but newegg is sending another so all is good

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear G.Skill RAM has been working well in your system. This is a high performance memory kit that should have the same result. If you believe a module is performing differently than the other, feel free to send it in for RMA exchange and a replacement should work better. Once you receive the new RAM, make sure to configure settings in BIOS/EFI. This memory kit is above standard, so it is necessary. With a supported motherboard and CPU, enable XMP/DOCP and the system should run at full speed. Should you have any questions or need help with it, please feel free to let us know.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsBoss Ram!

Pros: Fast and cheap good ram! I got 16 gigs and nothing as far as gaming has even used half of it!

Cons: none!

Other Thoughts: I got 8 gigs at first for a great deal, 1 month into it I had to get more (8 gigs more)! Good thing its at a great price and has no hiccups!

2 out of 5 eggsBad Experience

Pros: Good price for 8GB of DDR3, especially with a promo. I have a couple other sticks of G.Skill (RipJaws) which I've had no issues with.

Cons: One module was completely DOA out of the package. I use almost obsessive/careful grounding/handling methods during installation, so that was not the cause. I tested the module on another system with the same results. The second module worked at 1600MHz, but it presented hundreds of Memtest errors while operating at 1866MHz. This stuff is rated at 2133MHz, so 1866MHz shouldn't be an issue.

Other Thoughts: So overall, two defective sticks, of varying degree. I also can't say much for the heat spreaders or appearance of these modules, compared some other products out there. They are just "average". I'm used to high quality spreaders and such so these modules were slightly disappointing. Overall, this doesn't mean the G.Skill Sniper is bad RAM, just bad luck for me more than anything. I'm almost happy this happened though, because I've refunded these and gone with some Crucial LED modules; which I'm extremely happy with as they have been better in all categories.

Dear Customer

We are sorry to hear you had a bad experience. It is strange the memory kit did not work properly. This memory kit is high speed, high capacity, so it should work fast in any system that can support it. Not all CPUs can support DDR3-2133, and some may need additional tweaks to fully support it. The RAM is guaranteed to operate at the rated specifications, so there is no worry about that. In the future, if you have any problems, please feel free to contact the G.Skill support team directly. They will be glad to help identify the problem and get your system running at full speed in no time. Your satisfaction is guaranteed.

Thank you

4 out of 5 eggsgood ram

Pros: fast ram for a good price

Cons: couldn't get it to run at 2133, but got it to work at 1866 with 8-9-9-24 timings

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear the RAM is running fast and you got it at a good price. This is a very popular memory kit as it provides extreme speed and high capacity at a low price. Gamers especially with integrated graphics can benefit greatly with this memory kit. The high speed unleashes the full power of the CPU and GPU simultaneously for maximum performance. Not many CPUs can natively support DDR3-2133, so additional tweaks are necessary. If you would like assistance with this, contact the G.Skill support team and they will be glad to help you configure BIOS/EFI properly. Once you are done with them, the computer will be at optimal performance. The current settings you have are also very good, seems like you have a CPU that is rated for DDR3-1866, but with some tweaking it may be capable of DDR3-2133.

Thank you
