5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Similar priced as lesser performing ram
Solid ram
relatively low profile heatsink

Cons: Won't run at 1333 on my Asrock G41m-s3.

Other Thoughts: I installed this into an asrock g41m-s3 motherboard with an e7200 CPU. The el cheapo crucial ram that I have used for years was able to run at 1333 in this setup. The Gskill ram isn't able to run at 1333mhz and I think it's because the motherboard can't set the tRAS high enough. I found it odd that the much cheaper ram was able to run at a lower tRAS without issue. I attempted to get the ram to run by pumping the voltage some but that didn't work. I have since heard that increasing the northbridge voltage along with the ram voltage might allow it to work.

Regardless the ram is working at 1066 right now. Not sure what timings I should try at that speed since even g skill's website doesn't even say this ram can run at 1066.

4 out of 5 eggsfairly good ram

Pros: does what it's advertised to do, price

Cons: nothing in particular, it works, it doesn't wow me but then for the price it can't be beat

Other Thoughts: I'd give it a 5 star rating if i could overclock it a bit more then I've got. frankly this ram is basically overclocked 1600 ram already, so you're not going to get much more out of it then it's current xmp settings.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear you got the RAM at a good price and it is working as advertised. To overclock the RAM, it will be necessary to raise the timings or DRAM Voltage. This is a low voltage memory kit so without a boost, the margin will be limited. Keep in mind the CPU must be capable of a higher frequency as well. This RAM can overclock beyond DDR3-2400 with the proper settings. Should you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to let us know.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsGood RAM

Pros: Fast. Works. Great price.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: It's hard to review RAM when it works - there's not much to say other than that it's been working great for over a year.

5 out of 5 eggsFast RAM

Pros: It does have a fancy heatsink (not really necessary), but other than that it is fast ram with a lifetime warranty.

Never had problems with G.Skill RAM and have used it for years on various builds.

Heavily recommended.

Cons: NA

5 out of 5 eggsThe only sticker on my computer case

Pros: Low profile (slim, small, perfect for all types of cases)
Inexpensive (you get alot more than what you pay for)
G.Skill (duh)
Runs well with Kaveri at 1866 mhz

Cons: Isn't an actual sniper-rifle with the ability to pass rounds.

Other Thoughts: 11/10 would G.Skill again

5 out of 5 eggsDrop the voltage FTW

Pros: * G.SKILL
* Lower profile
* Amazingly stable -- The specs are very conservative for the set I got.
* I also like that the G.SKILL sticks they replaced are super-likely to work just fine with every other motherboard I have around.

Cons: Well, default latency and voltage is high. They dial in nicely at 1.52v, though, and after a bit of burn-in time I'll tighten the timings and torture test again. Pretty confident of a happy outcome there.

Other Thoughts: These ran with 1.5v at 2133 with stock timings (and a lightly bumped CPU/NB voltage through every test I put them through. Finally got them to error out after a brutal OCCT run.... Bumped voltage to 1.52v, and I cant make them fail. Haven't tried 1.51v.

Interestingly, 1.6v DOES cause fail with my AMD8350 overclock, but I didnt spend much time trying to fix it since they worked great at 1.52..... I've heard higher RAM voltages can stress the IMC in the piledriver chips and negatively affect stability. Fine. I'll use 1.52v. Very happy with purchase.

+1 G.SKILL

5 out of 5 eggsSweet

Pros: Works well and overclocks easy to 2400. Shorter than the Ripjaw in my computer.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This was my second set for a different computer. I wish I'd have bought two sets both times (8 sticks total).

5 out of 5 eggsFast

Pros: Worked right out of the gate, XMP profiled, recognised and launched in about 15 sec from start-bios-save.

Cons: Nothing, low enough to not hit cooler, guess thats a pro.

Other Thoughts: This shaved a noticable second to two seconds off of some Adobe Creative Cloud programs I run for work once overclocked from the 1600 that it loads as. People say overclocking ram is bunk, but my desktop stopwatch says OC is the real deal. I can't tell a difference on games, but I haven't bench marked yet. I do know that heavy programs load faster, but it's weird; the screen flashes white when they load in blinks, kind of like lightning when on 2133 OC. They still load faster, maybe that is why, the load screens are too screaming fast... don't know.
