5 out of 5 eggsGood deal

Pros: Great deal for the price - used it in an R2 build with a 4.3 gig processor and a 1050ghz code speed video card. Runs great - have yet to meet a game it didn't like -

Cons: None as of yet

4 out of 5 eggsgood ram

Pros: fast ram for a good price

Cons: couldn't get it to run at 2133, but got it to work at 1866 with 8-9-9-24 timings

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear the RAM is running fast and you got it at a good price. This is a very popular memory kit as it provides extreme speed and high capacity at a low price. Gamers especially with integrated graphics can benefit greatly with this memory kit. The high speed unleashes the full power of the CPU and GPU simultaneously for maximum performance. Not many CPUs can natively support DDR3-2133, so additional tweaks are necessary. If you would like assistance with this, contact the G.Skill support team and they will be glad to help you configure BIOS/EFI properly. Once you are done with them, the computer will be at optimal performance. The current settings you have are also very good, seems like you have a CPU that is rated for DDR3-1866, but with some tweaking it may be capable of DDR3-2133.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: -Fast

5 out of 5 eggsGood RAM / Cheap

Pros: Cheap..
Does what RAM does.
worked fine right out of the box.
Runs at 1600 unless you mess around in the BIOS..
matched with a Kaveri and it runs awesome at 1866.

Cons: I haven't figured out how to get it stable at 2133 yet. Gskill doesn't seem to provide allot of support on their website regarding this. I haven't been at my mobo manufacturer yet. I didn't take an egg off for this because I'm sure it will run.. It's just not working yet because I'm dumb.
I thought it would be something as simple as selecting a different profile in the BIOS for the memory settings.. There's one in there, but it doesn't work.. The thing works all choppy and weird unless I turn it back down.. So, I think I might have to mess with the timings or the voltage.. Or overclock the processor, which really isn't something I'm wanting to do..

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Buy

Pros: Works exactly as I hoped it would.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I bought this memory as it was on sale for a lower tier of memory, and I'm glad I did. This was my first build, and the memory went in the motherboard smoothly, and the BIOS recognized it at 2133 without me having to do anything.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Ram

Pros: does what ram should, and you cant beat that lifetime warranty, allows me to use the max speed (without OC) of my A10-7850K's memory controller

Cons: uses more energy than some other ram models (but this is performance ram,not power-saver)

Other Thoughts: not a problem with the ram, but i had to manually set the voltage & timings in the bios

5 out of 5 eggsWorking awesome!

Pros: Besides working great now, the price is very reasonable.

Cons: None thus far.

Other Thoughts: Well after finding out what was causing all my memory issues. It's great.

I was trying to build a quick and easy gaming PC to replace my old that died.

Combo
AMD A10-7850K
ASRock FM2A88M-HD+
700 Watt PSU

Well here's the problems I encountered. I had bought a XFX R7 240 discreet graphics card to do the dual graphics along side the APU. PC kept randomly freezing while playing games or watching videos on YouTube and such. I found forums giving several suggestive fixes. I found an interesting one that talked about voltage mismatch. So while testing out issue. I just happen to find out it wasn't voltage it was a Wattage issue. Between the extra cooling and a few hard drive my 700W PSU wasn't cutting it. Now granted I could go higher but I decided to go without the discreet video card and now everything is just fine.

Detects the 2133 and now dual instead of single channel. Quite pleased with the product actually wish my MB had just too more slots.

5 out of 5 eggsMy 2014 Budget mATX APU Gaming Build

Pros: Very Fast RAM (2133) for AMD KAVERI APU build

Cons: At this speed, Gskill 8GB only comes in pairs, not singles. So for cost reasons I went with this pair, and the GIGABYTE GA-F2A88XM-D3H which is micro ATX with 4 RAM slots. I plan on adding another pair of 8GB down the road for 16GB total.

Other Thoughts: If you use less than 2133, the performance of an APU system can begin to degrade quite dramatically. Don't shoot yourself in the foot with slower RAM.

My OLD specs:
Intel 6750 Core2 2.6GHz
4GB Kingston HyperX DDR2
ATI Radeon HD 4770
2TB HDD

My NEW Specs:
AMD A10-7850K Kaveri 3.7GHz Socket FM2+
GIGABYTE GA-F2A88XM-D3H MicroATX mobo
G.SKILL Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000)
Mushkin Chronos 60GB SSD for boot drive

NO ADD-ON VIDEO CARD ONLY GPU USAGE ONLY:

I am presently running this rig with only the built-in APU/GPU performance, and it it definitely faster in newer games than my old rig. I received the free Battlefield 4 with my order, and this system runs it fine without an add-in video card.

Same thing for Planetside 2, Everquest Next Landmark, Firefall, and Skyrim, and other games which nobody cares about.

Mind you the performance is not stellar, but is fast enough to play these games at an acceptable level.

In the future I plan on adding a discreet GPU but am not sure whether to go with a hybrid system with an R7 series card, or a separate stand-alone card. I will make my decisions after further research.
