5 out of 5 eggsExtreme DDR3 RAM

Pros: I purchased this on e.Bay, as used. I gotta say, I'm impressed with the overall quality of these DDR3 DIMMs. I set the XMP profile 1 in the bios, and haven't had any trouble.

Cons: Fans included aren't necessary. I didn't even bother to plug them in.

Other Thoughts: Windows 7 shows its using 8GB when idling at the desktop. Which is fine by me, since I now have plenty of memory for my applications. It makes my system very snappy feeling.

I haven't disabled or lowered page swap/caching yet... some forums say its a must, while others argue that it should be left alone. It depends on the applications you use... whether or not they are optimized for paging or not.

Right now and for the next 6 months or so (4Q-2015) is the best time to buy DDR3 RAM, as DDR4 is pushing its way into mainstream PCs. DDR4 was initially only for X99 extreme motherboards, and its high price reflected that. But now that its going to be available on Z170 and more, it should lower DDR3 prices significantly. ---- And let's be honest, there isn't much to care about for mainstream PC users... so DDR3 is still just as good, at this point. (Again, for regular users that is.)

3 out of 5 eggsDisappointed

Pros: Memory works great!

Cons: Coolers are made of a very bendy piece of metal and don't fit snugly enough for my liking. The molex connectors are easily breakable (I pushed one pin entirely out of the back of the connector when trying to comnect it. It really feels like they constructed them as cheaply as they possibly could.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this kit as an upgrade from the speed and capacity of my older kit. I have had absolutely no problems with the memory itself. The coolers, however, are a different story.

Since they are made of just one piece particularly bendy metal, they don't feel at all secure when "clamped" onto the DIMM slots. They wiggle far too much for my liking.

Dear Customer

Glad to hear the RAM works great in your system. This is an extreme memory kit that will fully maximize the processing power of any CPU on the market. Performance will be much greater than any pre-built computer you can buy on the market. With 64GB installed, the operating system will be nice and smooth under any circumstance. With regards to the memory cooler, the mounting legs are flexible, but they will hold on to the memory slots just fine. Tension can be stronger by bending them inward prior to installation. If you have a problem with one of the connectors, contact the RMA dept. about this problem and they will be able to send you a new replacement. You should not have any problem with any G.Skill product, and we will make sure that is the case. For all further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Memory

Pros: I purchased the 64GB set of Memory. When tweeked performs as others have stated, each MOBO will be different. No problems for 10 months. Currently memory is back in box as my liquid CPU cooling unit leaked and distroyed my X79 MOBO, but memory survived.

Cons: Trash the fan fans, when my system was flooded I found that 3 of the four fans had failed. For the $750 for the memory G-Skill could use ball bearing fans instead of the $0.10 sleave fans. I'ved just ordered new ball bearing fans.

Also the mounting is difficult to clip on the memory where the slots stradle both sides of the CPU.

5 out of 5 eggsPhase Three - Full Speed Ahead

Pros: I have switched MB to an ASUS RIVBE from RIVE & CPU to i7-4930K from i7-3930K for various reasons without any initial improvement. In fact, the 4930K isn't as overclockable as the 3930K but at $$$ a pop, I am stuck with it for now. I can now report that I have found a sweet spot for the G.Skill RAM at 2400MHZ, 9-12-12-27-2T and lots of other timing tweaks, AND voltage mods including DRAM Vcc to 1.75V and VccSA to 1.30V. With these settings, I am getting memory throughput (using SiSoft Sandra 21.10) of a whopping 57.3GB/s!

Cons: Cost, but worth every penny. I never tried to mount the fans and have repurposed them. The water blocks I am using fit nicely and look great, the only drawback is that I no longer have the cool look of the stock heat-spreaders.

Other Thoughts: Current System Specs:

5 out of 5 eggsGood set of Ram

Pros: +I am using Rampage IV Extreme. Just need to enable XMP profile and restart, i get 65 GB running at 2400mhz.
+Fast, help decrease stuttering in some games.

Cons: Unable to use the fans, due to my graphic card was seating in the first PCI-E slot.

5 out of 5 eggsFast Ram

Pros: - I am using Rampage IV extreme, just turn on the XMP profile, and the whole set of RAM run at 2400mhz without any problems.
- Replace my old 32 GB set with this, i can notice a better performance in some games (thief, Battlefield 4, COD ghosts...)

Cons: I really want to use the fans come with the kit, but due to my graphic card (R9 295x2) seated in the first PCIE slot, i cant install the fan

5 out of 5 eggsGskill Ripjaws z 64gb

Pros: great ram so far, easy to install. Haven't tested them yet as the cpu and gpu haven't arrived yet. Will update once I test them.

Cons: The ram coolers are incompatible with Asus X79 Deluxe motherboard. The heatsink stops them from fitting properly and can't sell them because you need to provide them for RMA if anything goes wrong.

4 out of 5 eggsOn the High-end Memory-spectrum - this is 80-85th%ile (GOOD)

Pros: 1) QuadChannel support;
2) 64GB set of memory;
3) Good XMP support;
4) Strong performance;
5) Used in multiple builds, reseated 50-60 times during build-up/tear-downs/troubleshooting/etc and no issues so far (did I just jinx myself???); and,
6) Price is reasonable for a 64GB set (yes, I see people squawking about price but come really, see what you are getting for this amount of $).

Cons: 1) difficulty of using supplied cooling/fans;
2) difficult time identifying 'support-status' in various motherboards QVL documentation

Other Thoughts: I like this memory, I do.
My only complaints are the fan/cooling 'solution' and the status of 'this' memory kit on various QVL mobo vendor documentation.
If the fans were put in as a 'bonus add-on' then I would not have subtracted an egg but they were a heavily marketed feature and (as you can read in the reviews) many people have issues fitting them in real-world builds.
Also, I would suggest that G.Skill work with motherboard vendors to update QVL documentation. For instance, I own the RIVE mobo and I can find 'G.SKILL F3-19200CL9D-4GBPIS(XMP) 4G ( 2x 2G )' but nothing for the 64GB kit while it is obviously supported given the existence of 'How to Enable X.M.P on Rampage IV Extreme' instructions floating around.
I mean, this only hurts G.Skill sales - how hard is it to get ASUS to update their docs that they will support the QuadChannel 64GB set of G.SKill sticks we are all reviewing?
All complaining aside, YES I would buy this memory again and I think G.SKill did a very good job of it.
Regarding the fan/cooling solution - if it is obvious that the fans won't work for the majority of users then either don't include them or throw them in as a bonus and don't represent them as a major selling point in the marketing materials. Look how many people had issues with them and gave less than ideal reviews for really awesome memory only because of brackets of the fans not fitting in various users build.

One more thing:

@Devon C. - can you please share your timings/config that you are using to run 2666Mhz???
Would really appreciate that... thanks.
john

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear you like this memory kit and it is working well in your system. 64GB of DDR3-2400 is definitely the most extreme RAM on the market for the X79 platform. It is for power users that are looking for the extreme processing power. In fact, only select few X79 motherboards can support such performance. For compatibility information, always visit the G.Skill website or send a quick email to the support department. Here you can find the QML for this RAM: http://www.gskill.com/en/product/f3-19200cl10q2-64gbzhd

With this memory kit, you will have a super computer better than most high end servers. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing. Simply amazing.

Pros: - Easily handles 2666 Mhz without getting too hot when utilizing the provided fans.
- Really low latency, surpassed all other models i've tested in a benchmark

Cons: - None to date.

Other Thoughts: Although I think it could have been a bit more low profile, overall this is an outstanding product. The packaging was top notch and the memory handles overclocking really well.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Memory Set

Pros: 64 Gig, G.Skill

Cons: Unable to use the fan kits, Price

Other Thoughts: I love this memory set. It works great on the EVGA x79 dark. With the X79 Dark, you will not be ale to use the supplied fans if you have a large heat sink installed. I'm not too worried about heat from the memory, since my Noctura heat sink has multiple fans that move air over the memory. I can't fault Newegg or G.Skill for that though, so I didn't knock an egg off. This kit is expensive. Do your research first and save yourself a few bucks by going with the fanless kit.
