4 out of 5 eggsDoes not run at 1866 out of package

Pros: Worked right when i stuck it in. Single dim is good. Leaves room for me to add 2 more for more ram

Cons: I have the GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3 AM3+ AMD 990FX + SB950 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard
and it thinks the stock speed for this ram is
pc3 10700

however i can overclock it to the correct speed but its not much of a concern. Hopefully they will list the stock speed correctly

Other Thoughts: LIST THE CORRECT SPEEDS PLEASE

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear the RAM is working well in your AMD build. The AUTO default speed is DDR3-1333; this allows the RAM to be compatible in any DDR3 computer. If you have a CPU and motherboard that can support a higher frequency, then you can enable the performance of the RAM with the XMP/DOCP profile, or manually input the settings. RAM is unlike any other computer hardware, it does not automatically run at speeds higher than standard. There is no factory overclock like a graphics card. If you only have one module installed, dual channel will not be enabled, so overall bandwidth is limited in half. Once you purchase another module and enable dual channel memory lanes, your computer will perform much better. Should you need any help setting things up, or have any questions, please feel free to contact us directly.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsI love Gskill

Pros: Dear G.skill - I was one of your early adopters back when everyone was like stay away, oh how times have changed, glad to see everyone sees what I've been saying all along.
Fast, Fexible, boots on every one of my mobo's (as expected) and none of them have this particular g.skill/speed/model on their supported list, but then again none of my g.skill sticks have ever been on the 'supported' mobo list and they always "just work".
Can you overclock them? I did to 1950-2000 and no errors, I didn't even realize I was overlocking them when I was upping my FSB, it wasn't until it went over 2000 and I was like "whoops" and put them at 1866. No blue screens, no stress crashes, I'd say this is a great value at a great price and they look cool.

Cons: Should have just bought 2

Other Thoughts: I've been purchasing g.skill since the early 2000 and I've never had an issue with a single stick and I've had plenty of quad sets and dual channel sets all overclocked and/or stock speed throughout their life cycles.

5 out of 5 eggsNothing to Complain About

Pros: I've had it or like a week . Might update later
Cheap
Works

Cons: None. Buy only if u might upgrade to 16GB RAM. Otherwise buy 2x4 GB for dual channel.

1 out of 5 eggsNot impressed at all

Pros: It was fast while it worked and they replace it when it breaks...

Cons: I got 16GB (2x 8GB) of this ram when I built my PC back in March of this year. By Nov. I was having random system freezes and the ram would not run at 1866. I contacted GSkill, they had me try several things and finally they determined I had one bad stick. I sent off the bad stick and got the new stick. I called and got the voltage settings from them etc and set it up at 1866.. a day later the first original stick of RAM went bad. So I have removed it and was about to email GSkill about my first stick from March going bad when my computer froze. I ran memtest86 to find out the stick I just recieved in the mail was also bad. This is horrible ram from my experience and should not have 3 sticks out of 3 one being a fresh replacement go badwhen I am using the settings they recommend in my BIOS. I am currently seeking new RAM and I am going to say forget GSkill all together.

Other Thoughts: I wouldn't ever buy from them 3/3 is horrible statistics on bad memory..

Dear Customer

We are sorry to hear you had such issues. For memory diagnostics, please use memtest86+, not memtest86. The latter may produce false errors, so make sure to use the plus version for accurate results. Not all CPUs/systems may support DDR3-1866, so please check that your hardware can support it. It is very unlikely to have 3 defective modules. Also, check that you have the latest BIOS for the motherboard. For all further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly. The G.Skill support team will make sure you have 16GB working fast and stable in your computer.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsQuite a few

Pros: * Good ram
* Comes with a sticker!

Cons: * One (out of like 20) that I have purchased died after a lighting storm knocked out the power. I dont know if it was the storm or that the ram was faulty.

Other Thoughts: its good ram, for a good price. Also, it comes with a sticker to make your case look even cooler :)!

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works well.

Cons: Ugly heat spreaders.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear the memory module is working well in your system. With 8GB of DDR3-1866, CPU processing power will be maximized, so the system will be nice and smooth. If you have two modules installed, that will double your communication channel between the CPU and RAM, and as a result the overall bandwidth should be significantly improved. This can be extremely beneficial if you need maximum performance. For any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: storage size, price

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I've had these in my computer for 2+ years, I maxed out my DIMM with 4 of these (32 GB), although I typically don't even use half that much with regular use. After several hours they do seem to get hot, but I have a fan blowing over them just in case.

5 out of 5 eggsWill buy from G.Skill again.

Pros: Never had a problem. Nice heat sink look for my case. Not too big to become a space issue.

Cons: none.

Other Thoughts: Will buy from them again. Gonna look for a good 2600 stick.
