5 out of 5 eggsGreat Overclocking RAM

Pros: Great Over-clocking and Gaming RAM.
8GB is good but with 16GB you can Easily and seamlessly alt-tab between intense games, multi-tab browsers, music software, etc.

Cons: Configuration Issues (see below)

Other Thoughts: Keep in Mind, when using odd numbers of RAM with different GB capacities you may run into bus configuration issues on your MoBo.

My ASUS MoBo has 4 Slots for 2 pairs of dual channel RAM. I had 2x4GB G.Skill 1866 RAM occupying the priority slots A2 and B2. I first installed this 8GB stick into Slot A1 and it didn't boot. Then Slot B1 and it didn't boot.
After giving it some thought, I worked around this issue by giving this stick priority in the A2 bus and moved the others to secondary slots A1 and B1 and it boots up fine. Windows and BIOS reads the full 16GB and I have not encountered any bottle-necking.

It's a little tricky getting the configuration correct, but not worth removing an egg because that's more of a MoBo limitation. If you want to avoid this issue, I would suggest installing RAM in pairs.

Overall, Great RAM. Allows me to overclock my unlocked i5 to 4.3GHz and multitask as much as I want.

5 out of 5 eggsAttractive and Well Performing

Pros: Very attractive looking with a "mean" appearance. Basically it is a "functions as it should" computer memory module with an awesome look.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Recommended.

5 out of 5 eggsLove this memory

Pros: This memory is extremely stable and that it can use xmp technology just makes it that much more awesome to use.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I currently have 32 gb of this in my system and it has worked like a charm. I plan on using most of my memory for ram disk for insane load times in games.

Thanks for an awesome product G. Skill

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Product

Pros: I recently bought 2 more sticks for my somewhat old PC that is getting an upgrade.

I've been using 2 of these for 3 years on a computer that runs for about 12 hours a day every day and they have never once failed on me.

I decided to leave them a good review because of that.

Cons: I have never had any bad experiences with this product.

Other Thoughts: G.SKILL will continue to be my go-to brand for RAM for the foreseeable future.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I have always liked G.Skill and I have never had a problem with any that I have purchased. The price is amazing for 8 gigs. Look at the DDR2 prices (not necessarily just this brand).

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I missed a $10 or $15 rebate right after I bought.

Will be buying another 8 gigs pretty soon hopefully.

4 out of 5 eggsDoes not run at 1866 out of package

Pros: Worked right when i stuck it in. Single dim is good. Leaves room for me to add 2 more for more ram

Cons: I have the GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3 AM3+ AMD 990FX + SB950 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard
and it thinks the stock speed for this ram is
pc3 10700

however i can overclock it to the correct speed but its not much of a concern. Hopefully they will list the stock speed correctly

Other Thoughts: LIST THE CORRECT SPEEDS PLEASE

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear the RAM is working well in your AMD build. The AUTO default speed is DDR3-1333; this allows the RAM to be compatible in any DDR3 computer. If you have a CPU and motherboard that can support a higher frequency, then you can enable the performance of the RAM with the XMP/DOCP profile, or manually input the settings. RAM is unlike any other computer hardware, it does not automatically run at speeds higher than standard. There is no factory overclock like a graphics card. If you only have one module installed, dual channel will not be enabled, so overall bandwidth is limited in half. Once you purchase another module and enable dual channel memory lanes, your computer will perform much better. Should you need any help setting things up, or have any questions, please feel free to contact us directly.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsI love Gskill

Pros: Dear G.skill - I was one of your early adopters back when everyone was like stay away, oh how times have changed, glad to see everyone sees what I've been saying all along.
Fast, Fexible, boots on every one of my mobo's (as expected) and none of them have this particular g.skill/speed/model on their supported list, but then again none of my g.skill sticks have ever been on the 'supported' mobo list and they always "just work".
Can you overclock them? I did to 1950-2000 and no errors, I didn't even realize I was overlocking them when I was upping my FSB, it wasn't until it went over 2000 and I was like "whoops" and put them at 1866. No blue screens, no stress crashes, I'd say this is a great value at a great price and they look cool.

Cons: Should have just bought 2

Other Thoughts: I've been purchasing g.skill since the early 2000 and I've never had an issue with a single stick and I've had plenty of quad sets and dual channel sets all overclocked and/or stock speed throughout their life cycles.

5 out of 5 eggsNothing to Complain About

Pros: I've had it or like a week . Might update later
Cheap
Works

Cons: None. Buy only if u might upgrade to 16GB RAM. Otherwise buy 2x4 GB for dual channel.
