5 out of 5 eggsWorks like a charm so far

Pros: Works great in dual-channel

Cons: Fails Test 13 in MemTest86+ (minor issue)

Other Thoughts: G. Skill has made my first PC building experience easy and enjoyable. These two sticks of RAM were easy to install and aesthetically beautiful in the case. After running through a few triple-A games and browsing a few websites, I can safely say this RAM works as advertised.

When I ran MemTest86+, I ran into a few errors regarding the Hammer Test. However, this is common on RAM sticks produced after 2010 and is unlikely to interfere with everyday use.

4 out of 5 eggsAs advertised.

Pros: Does the job, functions. Wasn't DOA.

Cons: Motherboard identified this as DDR3 1333 instead of 1866 for some reason. Easy fix in BIOS, hoping that I wasn't shipped an improperly labeled set.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear the memory is working flawlessly in your system. The standard boot up specification of any DDR3 RAM is DDR3-1333/1600. This allows the RAM to work in any DDR3 motherboard/computer. With a capable CPU and compatible motherboard, enable XMP/DOCP or manually input basic memory settings and the memory can run at full speed. This holds true for any high performance RAM including DDR3-2400+. The memory kit is labeled correctly, and as you have experienced, it can reach DDR3-1866 without a problem. Should you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to let us know.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome!

Pros: RAM is great for budget. Matches my build and stays relatively cool with heat sinks. No problems with any G.Skill RAM that i have bought. Great quality for the price, one of my favorites!

Cons: Only thing I would want different is to offer more color options.

Other Thoughts: Simply great RAM.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid memory, Runs like a champion.

Pros: Runs very stable. It's very reliable and easy to overclock. The heat sinks look really awesome and don't get in the way of anything for my set up and the red color fits my system pretty well.

Cons: none in the last year that I've been running 32gb

Other Thoughts: G.skill makes a quality product and it'd be hard to switch to another set of RAM after having such a great experience with this product. I definitely recommend this product if you're looking for new RAM, now or in the future.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat ram so far

Pros: It's ram. It's working at the manufacturer specs.

Cons: None thus far

Other Thoughts: I installed this ram alongside a 4GB stick of hyperx ram. I know that doing this is frowned upon but I went into the bios and all sticks to run at the same setting and everything is zipping along fine thus far. If anything goes wrong I'll just take out the 4GB stick. Either way right now I'm running 20Gb of ram and couldn't be happier.

5 out of 5 eggsMake sure you understand XMP memory

Pros: Works well at 1866.

Cons: Memory description should make it clear to buyers that 1866 MHz is only achievable with motherboards that explicitly support XMP. This is true for all 1866 and above memories - not just G.SKILLs - but since it's a surprise to many buyers, this should be explicitly stated.

Other Thoughts: Make sure you understand XMP memory and make sure your BIOS supports it. By default your BIOS will likely set the memory at 1333MHz speed until you enable the Intel XMP settings in your BIOS, which many Intel *and* AMD motherboards support. Once enabled, you should be able to select 1 of the 2 profile configurations provided - these are read by the BIOS from the RAM itself - and reboot with 1866MHz. That *should* be all that is necessary, but it could get more involved.

My motherboard, an MSI-970A-G43, advertises XMP support but it failed. After selecting either one of the 2 profiles, the machine failed to boot and I had to reset the BIOS via a jumper on the motherboard. That's obviously not what you're hoping for. I wasn't sure if it was my MB or the memory at fault, but I now believe it's my MB. My MB has an advanced function that let me see the XMP data and based on the timing shown in the data I was able to set all the timings manually. This wasn't obvious at all but after getting the settings in place, I rebooted and the memory works perfectly at 1866MHz. This tells me it's my MB bios that has a problem, not the memory itself.

It would be nice if the memory packaging had a printed record of the XMP timings for those of us that *have* to set the timings manually. If my MB didn't have a way to see the XMP data, I would have been out of luck.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: Fast!

Cons: Not really plug and play if you want the fastest speed. Had to mess with my BIOS to get these to work at the advertised speed.

5 out of 5 eggs2 1/2 and still going strong

Pros: -works for everything I run them for
-passed all mem checks after 2 years of continuous use
-slightly overclocked voltage to 1.65 and still no probloms
-widely used set of sticks so plenty of info out there for new guys

Cons: -tall heat sinks, but they are removable if needed.

Other Thoughts: My heat sinks are touching my aftermarket CPU cooler (Noctura NH-D14) but really not an issue unless i need to replace ram. hope that will never happen!
