5 out of 5 eggsAmazing

Pros: Very fast and ample space
clocked easily at 1866
fast RMA

Cons: Needed to RMA one of the sticks for a broken sector. That said G.Skill gave me a replacement right away even though it had been more than half a year. There was no fuss and my ram is now running rock solid.

5 out of 5 eggsThis memory rocks, and with this capacity you can set up a RAM drive

Pros: This memory is top quality. To be honest, i am surprised. I went with G. Skill rather then other name brands to save a little on 32GB of 1866 memory and these modules have run fast, cool and maintained their capacities.

Cons: If you know what you are doing, nothing.

As a note, however, especially with AMD motherboards with East-West mounted CPU coolers you may have a size problem with some coolers. Make sure you install the memory first and have the clearance.

Other Thoughts: This was installed on BIOSTAR TA990FXE AM3+ AMD 990FX with AMD FX-8350 and ARCTIC Freezer A30 Extreme CPU Cooler.

On this system some changes needed to be made in the bios to get it stable at 1866 (rather then simply changing the speed). It ran fine with the default 1600 speed.

5 out of 5 eggsAlways a Great Buy

Pros: Although this isn't the same ram purchased before it is still the G.Skill Ripjaws series that I keep purchasing and have had ZERO problems with them, before and now. Great for overclocking, assuming you know how to set it up, and doesn't get excessively hot. Not to mention it fits comfortably under the Thermaltake Frio I currently have installed.

Cons: None, love this ram and will be getting more once I require more than 32GB.

Other Thoughts: Since I barely budge 1/4 of the useage on these I'm moving 3 sticks over to my new build that will be for video processing/editing, 8GB is more than enough for running programmes like Unigine, WoW, Sony Vegas (bit more usage from CS5) and whatnot...

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Model

Pros: Bought this to fit on a ASUS x79 Deluxe. Works as advertised, no issues installing or running the ram, after setting up in the bios the ram was set at 1866 frequency. Very happy with the quality!

Cons: Nothing.

5 out of 5 eggsworks full speed with Vishera 8320

Pros: Lots of memory is good for giving multiple virtual machines in VirtualBox lots of memory with plenty of memory left for the real machine.

A quicker speed grade makes things a little snappier. Re-coding videos for instance doesn't run completely from cache, so there is a speed boost.

The memory will go higher than 1866, although not all the way to 2000. (Gigabyte GA-970A UD3, AMD 8320)

Cons: Getting 1866 MHz had me confused for quite a while. Jacking up voltages did not do the trick. My BIOS was set to auto for the timings, and manual to 1866 for the memory speed. Next to the settings it reads grayed out timings, which I figured would be what auto would set, but it turned out when I set timings manually to the same settings the computer booted fine, and passed all the Memtest86+ tests, and it did so without over-volting. ???

Other Thoughts: ! Memory is now about 3 times the price when I bought it 11/20/2012!

There is some kind of glitch between my mobo and memory which gives me an error on one bit at one address, but only about one pass in 20, only on test #8. When I switch the modules around, the bit and address do not change, so it is not a bad bit in the memory. I can also run thousands of passes of any other test without any errors.

1 out of 5 eggsHelp Please

Pros: Looks Sweet!

Cons: What do I have to do to get 1866 mhz? I have an MSI board with an Asus Cpu. I can adjust to 1600 mhz with no problems. Once i set it to 1800 mhz, no go.

Dear Customer

We are more than glad to help, but the proper method for support is via email, forum, or telephone. For full slots of DDR3-1866, your CPU memory controller will be overloaded. The AMD FX CPU does NOT support 4 modules of DDR3-1866. In addition to the basic DRAM settings, you will need to boost the CPU-NB Voltage +0.1 to +0.15V to stabilize the internal memory controller. Once that is complete, the system should be fast and smooth. For any further questions or concerns, please contact us directly for assistance.

Pros: Looks Sweet!

Cons: I can only get 1600mhz out of it. If I change it in the bios, I get bsod. I know there are settings to make this work correctly but I just don't have them. Help GSKILL!

Dear Customer

No problem, we are more than glad to help. In the future, simply contact the G.Skill support team directly and they can assist you right away. The NewEgg Review section is limited, so it is not a good method of contact for support. Once you reach the support team directly, they will make sure the RAM is running fast and stable in your computer. This memory kit is above standard, so manual setting and configuration in required. In addition, the AMD FX CPU only supports 2 DIMMs of DDR3-1866, so further tweaks are necessary to stabilize the CPU memory controller. For your convenience, here is a guide:

5 out of 5 eggsYep

Pros: O.C. to 2400 no problem

Windows Index Experience gave it a perfect score

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Barely more expensive than purchasing 1600MHz memory.

Matches my MSI Z87-GD65

You might have to go into your BIOS and adjust the frequency if you want it to run @ 1866MHz

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: 32 gb of memory would be great if i could use it all. right now my motherboard is only reading 16gb

Cons: I just bought a ASUS Sabertooth Z77 motherboard with the gskill memory 32gb and it is only reading 16 gb of memory. Need immediate problem solving advice. Is this memory even compatible with the ASUS Sabertooth motherboard?

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

We can surely help you with this problem. First, reinstall the memory and make sure each module is firmly inserted. If one does not firmly click in, you can try another slot to see if it fits better. To determine whether bad modules may be causing the problem, test each stick to see if they all detect 8GB. If a module does not boot, or is not fully stable, send the memory in for RMA exchange and a replacement should work better. To determine whether bad slots may be causing the problem, test each slot with a working module to see if each can boot. The memory is definitely compatible with the motherboard, so that is not the issue. If all modules work fine individually, but not together, it may be a bad motherboard. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly. We will make sure the RAM is working fast and stable in your computer.
