Pros: The price was great on this 16GB kit and G-Skill is known for quality. I have 16GB of G-Skill Ripjaws in my PC and have never had a problem. With 16GB in your laptop you will get at least a 7 on your RAM Windows Experience Score for Windows 7. Once it's installed you should never have to touch or worry about upgrading your RAM again.

Cons: Absolutely nothing. It installs easily and makes your life better :).

Other Thoughts: I got this for a refurbished Lenovo T420 I bought from E-bay. After installing this RAM and a SSD the machine is like a new laptop and boots up in less than 20 seconds. Installation was easy and aside from removing the keyboard in order to get at the second RAM location, it wasn't intimidating at all. System recognized 16GB immediately at reboot and it's been clear sailing since. One note, the Lenovo T420 documentation states that it can only take two 4GB cards for a max of 8GB of RAM, this is incorrect, the machine WILL accept two 8GB cards for a nice total of 16GB of ram. Do you need 16GB of ram in a laptop? Some say no, some yes; I say deliberately over-powering your machine can make it a little more future proof.

Cons: Died within 4 Hours

Other Thoughts: One stick died within four hours...moved both sticks to multiple slots, one worked one did not. Don't waste your money on this junk.

Pros: Memory works for my Dell E6420 with I5 2520m processor. Checked memtest 86 for 3 passes with no errors.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this memory to any one with a similar laptop to mine.

Pros: Upgraded an HP EliteBook 8460p to 16GB. No compatibility issues, works great. Plenty of RAM for virtuals.

Cons: Was not free.

Pros: Upgraded my i7 740QM powered Toshiba Qosmio X505 2 years ago with this. Intel is wrong, 1st gen i7s can take more than 8GB! I can use all 16GB and it enabled my laptop to still perform decently against new laptops. I don't plan on upgrading anytime soon!

Other Thoughts: It'll revive your laptop especially if it's a first gen i7, it's truly worth it, I've had it in mine 2 years!

Other Thoughts: Installed this in my Macbook Pro (Early 2011). Installation was very easy and there is noticeable performance improvement.

Pros: I purchased this 16GB upgrade along with a Samsung SSD 850 EVO SSD to boost the performance of a HP dv7t-3000 CTO Pavilion Entertainment Laptop.

There is conflicting information from HP and Intel who say this model will only support 8gb vs 16gb, with anecdotal evidence on the Internet that the underlying i7 hardware should be able to support 16gb.

Simply plugged the memory in (make sure its seated correctly) and worked out of the box!

Using free NovaBench for a rough measure of improvement (no SSD installed yet):

NovaBench Overall Score with original 4GB - 748
NovaBench Overall Score with new 16GB - 845 (13% improvement)

NovaBench Memory Score 4GB - 133
NovaBench Memory Score 16GB - 213 (60% improvement)

Cons: None, took a gamble and it paid off.

Pros: It's laptop memory that goes in a laptop and gives the laptop more memory. And it does that well

Cons: It wasn't free, or delivered in person by the Swedish Bikini Team

Pros: worked great, plug and play

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: revitalized the old beast for school and this and an ssd was just the ticket

Pros: Nice price point and build

Cons: This is not for the DELL XPS L501x laptop. IT is originally using a Kingston 4GB KF073F-ELF PC3 10600 DD3 1333 RAM kit.
