Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

Glad to hear the memory is working as advertised. This is a high performance memory kit that should work extremely well in your system. We are certain you will be very pleased with the performance. With 16GB of DDR3-1866 CL8, your computer will be capable of anything you put it to without any lag or delays. It is strange a module was not working properly, but don't worry, send it in for RMA exchange and we can send you a new replacement right away. Visit the G.Skill website for complete RMA procedure. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsCL8 G.Skills

Pros: CL is 8. 16GB 1866.

Cons: Used in new build for wife's Facebook PC. Wasting about 12GB really. I can't help myself when I'm building. I have to spend every penny of the budget.

Other Thoughts: 8GB woulda been cheaper and still plenty enough for my wifes Facebook addiction.

5 out of 5 eggsBought for teh looks!

Pros: Works flawlessly at listed specs.

Cons: A little pricey, but it has the best specs of any 1866 I found.

Other Thoughts: Althought cas 8 on 1866 is fantastic, it honestly doesn't make that much of a difference to most people and wouldn't be worth the price. I bought this because of the look of the ram. It went with my system exactly like I wanted.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Lower cas latency than Adata 1600 ram that came with pre-built PC I purchased here. installed into X79A-GD45 Plus motherboard, enabled xmp in bios and ram voltage was auto-set to 1.5 volts along with the rated timings of 8-9-9-24

Cons: none, as was the case with two other purchases of G.Skill 1600 Ripjaws X, they seem to offer lower cas latency compared to others including Corsair.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great!

Pros: Memory works great paired with AMD FX-8320 and Asus M5A99X EVO R2.0. Had to change the speed from 1600 to 1866 through UEFI, but works great after that! The colors match the Asus motherboard perfectly.

Cons: None

1 out of 5 eggsG.SKill has no Skill

Pros: The first kit i got back in mid 2013 is still working..... really that is about all.

Cons: The second kit I got back late 2013 was dead out of the box and still not working after newegg return and RMA to G.SKILL

Other Thoughts: The first kit that i have with May 2013 stickers is great. No issues. I liked them so much that i decided to get another kit in late 2013 (12/23/2013). It has been a nightmare ever since. The kit had Dec 2013 stickers. 1 stick was DOA. I sent it back to Newegg for an exchange within the return period. Got a replacement set with Jan 2014 stickers. 1 stick in that kit was DOA. All other 7 tested fine. Had to now contact G.SKILL for RMA due to being outside exchange period for newegg. RMA number (just cause G.SKILL reads these i guess, UR2140638).
I just got the RMA replacement in the mail. Put them in and powered on the computer. nothing but beeps... okay. So i took and tested all 8 sticks (4 old from May 2013 and 4 new that i just got RMA). Same story. The 4 from May 2013 100% fine. This time, though, 3 of the 4 replacement from RMA were bad. Mem-Test even halted my CPU on one of them.

You would think G.SKILL would test their products before sending as a replacement, just because of the added expense customers have to go through to pay shipping and actually expect the problem to be fixed and not worse. I guess this happens enough though that according to their website, they even have a policy for a Second RMA... it's a joke.

Never again will i use G.SKILL and I will inform all my tech friends and those in the computer building industry to stay away and let them know of these problems.

I also hope that whomever reads this, decides to look someone else as well.

All i expected was that a replacement would have come that actually would have been good. Would it really have been that hard to run tests on the memory sticks before shipping them out. It took about 20 minutes each to run the tests. Windows Memory Diag (Windows 8.1) takes even less.

I guess at this point i will be fighting with G.SKILL either to get a full 100% working set of memory, or for them to reimburse me the cost that i paid for this since i can no longer return them.

(and yes this is a continuation of a post i did earlier where G.SKILL responded to send the memory in for RMA)

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

We are sorry to hear you are having such issues. It is very strange the replacement did not work flawlessly. Send them in and we will send you a new kit right away. This is a very rare case so I'm sure your experience in the future will be much better. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.
