5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Memory

Pros: Great price, quick speeds and as always, G.Skill quality. Slimmer than the Ripjaws series (see other thoughts).

Cons: Could be available in other colors, but I'm not a real stickler for that kinda stuff.

Other Thoughts: Being the same speed as the Ripjaw series, I can give you one good reason to buy these over other them. The heat spreader on the Aries is 3-4mm shorter than on the Ripjaws allowing much easier installation of aftermarket heat sinks. I've had a few issues in the past installing CPU coolers on AM3+ boards (vertically most times) with the Ripjaws modules, but the extra clearance of the Aries allowed them to fit nice and snug without touching the fins of the cooler. From now on I'm sold on the Aries line.

5 out of 5 eggsNo issues at all; a solid set.

Pros: + No LOLMLGPRO2FAST heatfins on the modules, letting them stay low enough for most, if not all, heatsinks in regards to clearance.
+ The color, while strong, looks nice. Of course, if you're going for a scheme, and orange isn't one of the colors you have, you're probably not going to pick these.

Cons: - None. These do exactly what they say on their box.

Other Thoughts: As long as you remember to set the speeds in your BIOS if you see that they're not going at the ones advertised, then these sticks are exactly what you want; no more, no less.

3 out of 5 eggsBad Luck?

Pros: Low price, good looking, value for specs.

Cons: Had issues with not booting and blue screens randomly. Same experience in 2 different computer. As long as one of sticks were only installed, there were no problems. It didn't matter which one it was, tried swapping multiple times. As soon as the second on was installed back to random issues. Tried on an intel setup (MSI P67A-G45 + i5 2500k) and AMD setup (ASUS A88X Pro + 750K) Both bios and CPUZ gave same information on memory installed (incase there was a speed or voltage difference). Both systems passed memory test.

Other Thoughts: Replaced with TEAM Vulcan kit. Same specs, but a few bucks cheaper on sale. Newegg RMA'ed with no problems. Never had problems with G.SKILL memory before. (Have it in 2 other systems, but higher end series of G.SKILL in both machines). Didn't give lower rating because "stuff happens" and just may have been luck of the draw. I opted to replace it, since I already had the Team Vulcan kit on hand for another build. So, I used it for trial in the current setup. Since I knew the Team Vulcan kit worked just fine, I didn't want to go through the hassle of potentially finding out it was not going to work properly.

Dear Customer

Glad to hear you like the appearance of the RAM and got it at a good price. This memory kit should work great in your systems. It is strange you had such issues. Send it in for RMA exchange and a new kit should work better. Since the memory is above standard, manually input the settings, or enable the XMP/DOCP memory profile and the system should run very nicely. 8GB of DDR3-1600 is perfect for gaming and daily usage. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsGood and Plenty

Pros: I put 2x4gb, paired with an i3-4130 cpu to run win 7 and the ram works great even if it reads single channel in my bios (defective motherboard).

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: The MB I got was defective and wouldn't read these in the B channels, but they worked fine in channels A1 & A2.

4 out of 5 eggsDid not work for my needs.

Pros: Worked for AM3+ I tested it in

Cons: Did not work for the Intel Atom D525 I bought it for

Other Thoughts: The memory would not clock down to something that the Gigabyte D525TUD (Intel Atom D525) would accept. I know its not on the QVL for that board but no memory on the QVL for that board is currently being sold.

The Intel Atom D525 will accept 8GB of memory, contrary to what Intel used to say. They have a release on their website that explains that they stated that 4GB was the limit for marketing reasons.

I have new Gigabyte D525TUD boards and am looking for memory that will work with them. I will keep this memory for future use.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Even if the CPU can support 8GB, it will not support DDR3-1600 CL9. Exchange for a DDR3-1333 CL9 or DDR3-1066 CL7 kit and that will be your best chance. Also, make sure you have the latest BIOS. Updates are commonly released to improve compatibility. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

5 out of 5 eggsSleek and fast without the flare.

Pros: Worked great straight out of the packaging. Amazingly fast when mixed with my SSD. Doesn't occupy much space in the case. Doesn't have fancy heat-sinks just for the flash and flare.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I don't care much for flashy heat sinks, and I would much rather have my RAM occupy less space in my case than to be expressive.
