1 out of 5 eggsUnreliable: Died within 2 Week

Pros: Price was reasonable.
Low Profile.
Three out of four are still working.

Cons: One of the module died within 2 weeks of operation, using the stock XMP profile (8-8-8-24)
Seems to run hotter than my previous memory stick

Other Thoughts: Looking at other reviews and looking at the spec for this memory, I thought it was a good buy. This was a first time trying out G.Skill, and apparently I was very wrong. I was very happy that this memory worked right out of the box and my motherboard quickly loaded the stock XMP profile, but less than 2 week in, suddenly, I see a Blue screen under regular operation, and my mother board flashed memory error. Luckily, testing each memory stick one at a time, 3 stick are still functional, with only 1 broken.

I was truly not expecting this memory stick to go bad this early in its life, especially when my old Kingston memory that I replaced are still going strong in my another build and has taken more beating that this memory. Oh well, I guess it's time to go through G.Skill's RMA. Praying that it goes smoothly, and I have some more luck.

Dear Customer

We will be glad to help with this issue. It is extremely odd for a module to fail so quickly, but don't worry, the G.Skill RMA process can take care of that immediately. Visit our main home page to complete the request form online. You will receive an email with return instructions; follow the steps and we will have new RAM out to you immediately. Your computer can be back up to full speed in no time. With the replacement RAM, enable XMP and it should be fast and reliable. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

3 out of 5 eggsSo far so good

Pros: Runs at 1600MHz 8-8-8-24 at 1.5v. Completely stable so far after 8 hours each of prime95, linpack, and memtest86+, as well as many hours of high-end games. Hope it stays that way.

Cons: Sticks are advertised and physically labelled at 8-8-8-24, but the SPD/XMP profile reads 8-8-8-25 (as others have also reported). I do not know whether this is false advertising, bad labeling, or just a bug in the EEPROM - but as I said above, the sticks I got do run at advertised speed. Either way, stock RAM timings are not a mistake you want to worry about and is a silly defect for the manufacturer to miss; minus 2 stars for making me have to waste time specifically ensuring that a tRAS of 24 was stable.

Other Thoughts: * MB set tRFC at 128, I was only able to push it to 126 stably at 1600mhz, so don't expect much there.
* Upgraded from original 2x2G 1.65v Corsair Dominator sticks, was well worth it, both for the performance benefits to an aging system, and the peace of mind that I'm not running my DRAM exactly at Intel's recommended upper limit.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer

Glad to hear the memory is working well in your system. This is a high capacity, high performance memory kit that will surely run at the rated specifications. The rated specifications of each memory kit is guaranteed by G.Skill. The incorrect timings you see is a reporting error/bug by the software. If you enable the XMP/DOCP Profile in BIOS, you will notice that it is automatically set and configured to the correct values. There is nothing wrong with the memory kit, it is human checked and certified. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

5 out of 5 eggsworks like it should

Pros: well all 4 sticks posted at 1.5v just like they should and they didnt come DOA. the low profile touch is pretty nice and the heatsinks dont look to bad either.

Cons: as far as i can tell. none what so ever. G skill has been pretty reliable for me and i have had several DDR2 and DDR3 sets and so far none have ever died on me. as a a matter of fact this PC that is about to be retired is running DDR2 1066 G Skill.

Other Thoughts: G skill is good ram and has never let me down yet. will buy more in the future if i need to!

5 out of 5 eggsSo far so good...

Pros: Inexpensive, works fine in my machine at stock settings, looks well made...

Cons: Won't even let memtest+ start.

Other Thoughts: Memtest failure for this memory is more than offset by the fact that it passes windows 7 memory test, and works reliably at stock settings in my system (so I didn't dock a star). I don't have many plans for overclocking - for the time being I'm enjoying the peace and quiet of Core5 750 processor at stock :). Motherboard didn't set the 8-8-8 part of memory's specs by itself, but I don't think it should be held against the G.Skill either (I'm using it in somewhat aged Asus P7P55D Pro). And, of course, with upgrade from 8 to 16GB of RAM everything on Win7 x64 became more smooth and responsive (another reason not to bother with overclocking).

5 out of 5 eggsGreat RAM for Socket 2011

Pros: Runs @ 1600mhz 8-8-8-24 with 1.5 volts no problem. Very nice looking sticks. Low profile to fit under any cooler. Stays nice a cool.

Cons: XMP profile is aggressive. Set timing manually.

Other Thoughts: you don't need those hege heat spreaders like on many sticks of memory. These stay nice a cool all the time.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great, small size

Pros: Fast (1600 @ 8-8-8-24), all 4 sticks work, doesn't have huge ugly fins that get in the way of my large CPU cooler. XMP working great on my Mobo. Really good price. Never had an issue with G.Skill in any of my builds.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: My system:

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Memory

Pros: Great RAM for the price. The only thing limiting the Memory is my 3 year old motherboard (which I plan on updating soon) :) Heatsinks work great.

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsFine Memory

Pros: Memory fits nicely in my old ASUS P5E3 Premium wifi@n. Runs without error at all speeds my old mb will run at.

Cons: Will not run @XMP, will not run at 8.8.8.24, 1600, won't even post in the mb. Fault lies with the MP, not the memory in my opinion. Will run 7.7.7.24 @1333.

Other Thoughts: I purchased two matched sets of this company's memory months ago and wasn't able to boot @1600, 8.8.8.24. After dialogue with company, I was advised to purchase a four stick matched set, which with this purchase I did; however, performance of the four sticks is no different from the two matched sets I already have.
Again, I believe the limitation is the MB.
