5 out of 5 eggsGreat value, may need to tweak BIOS

Pros: -Hands down, these were the best value when I was researching.
-Simple setup, but needed to tweak the BIOS for advertised speed.

Cons: -Nothing so far.

Other Thoughts: Ok, I'll admit...I picked these up because I'm an Aries and the correlation was hilarious.

That aside, I've had No issues at all that are the fault of the DIMMs. I did have to change the multiplier in the BIOS because it defaults them to 1333 instead of the full 1600, but that was a known thing about the board I bought and Not a big deal.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: decent reputation

Cons: this one didn't work on my motherboard. I'd advise every Newegger to check the motherboard manufacturer's website to see which memory modules work on their board. After these didn't work, I found that out the hard way. Cost $25 in return shipping costs and restocking fees.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

We are sorry to hear you had such issues. This memory kit should work just fine in any DDR3 motherboard that can support 8GB memory modules. If neither module worked individually, try with other DDR3 RAM to see if it can boot. If not, it may be a defective motherboard. For this memory kit, it is above standard, so don't forget to enable the XMP/DOCP/EOCP performance profile or manually input settings for optimal performance. Once you do that, the memory should run fast and stable. With regards to return shipping costs, in the future, use USPS First Class w/ Tracking. It is the most cost effective method at around $5. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

Thank you

2 out of 5 eggsDDR3 1600????

Pros: I don't know yet....

Cons: I installed this memory, and my new gigabyte motherboard (GA Z77X 4UP TH) recognized as a DDR3 1333.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer

We can surely assist you with this issue. Please kindly enable XMP Profile in BIOS and press F10 save&exit. Once that is complete, the system should always use the correct values of the RAM. For all further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly. We will make sure the memory is working fast and stable in your computer.

5 out of 5 eggs$179.99 for two kits, nice. works

Pros: great price on shell shocker with coupon code. got two kits(32gb) for $179.99. Thats decent since the recent ram prices uptick. thats by far the best price i could find on low profile, 32gb, 1600. does not interfere with my after market heatsink/fan. its a 92mm. performs great. nice boost over my 16gb, 1333. no problem on timings. see below. will check back with reliability. but so far, flawless

Cons: none. i have use gskill for years. used their products hundreds of times. excellent quality, always.

Other Thoughts: put in one kit, implemented the xmp for it at 1600 in the uefi. perfect. reboot. shutdown, installed second kit. had to do nothing. xmp automatically set timings for them. perfect. one issue i had. windows 8 x64 was allocating 17gb of ram for hardware reserved. seen this before in win 7. run msconfig, boot tab, advanced, uncheck "maxium memory". fixed. now have 31.5 for system, .5 for video.

4 out of 5 eggsGood while it works

Pros: Cheap, good when it works, RMA process is smooth!

Cons: Both sticks failed. One within a few months and the other a little less than a year after purchase. Memtest86+ found the errors when the machine started BSODing.

Other Thoughts: The RAM works great when it works, and the replacement stick I got for the first failure is still going strong. I'm sending the second stick in for an RMA this week. Maybe I got a bad batch or something.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear the memory works well in your system. This memory kit is above standard, so please make sure to configure settings in BIOS/EFI. Without the proper settings, the memory can error and fail over time. This is a high capacity, high speed memory kit, so it should work well in your machine. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes the Job

Pros: I have 64GB, two XenServers with 8-core / 32GB of Ram. Does the job perfectly for my needs. The first 32GB has run for almost a year without issue, the 2nd just went into the new XenServer.

Cons: Not a con, so much as fluctuatity memory prioces. Better when I got 32GB for $160, versus $119 for 16GB right now.

Other Thoughts: Sweet memeory for my needs!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for Large RAM installs

Pros: Flawless, no heat issues.
I have 64GB of this installed, back when 10 was a fast timing for this stuff. Still, the more ram the looser the timings get anyway. this stuff has been reliable and i haven't had any linux server issues traced back to it, only bad software dependancies.

Cons: N/A
