5 out of 5 eggsThey work

Pros: Gskill ram always works for me. Ive had one bad module in the past 6-8 years that I have been buying their ram and they took care of it quickly.

The Ares sticks were paired with some rip jaw ram that I also have. Usually a big no no. It did not work at first but after some uefi tweaks it started working fine. Usually a huge no no but not a big deal right now.

The cost for a 16GB kit has dropped dramatically. I remember having to pay $150 for 16GB not that long ago.

Low profile heatsink

Cons: If you want to be picky, you can google the difference between ripjaw and ares and see that they apparently use different components to build these sticks. I didnt dig too deep. I trust Gskill.

Other Thoughts: Newegg shipping was fast as usual.

5 out of 5 eggsGood stuff

Pros: Works like a champ, great value!

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Added to a little upgrade build. My old Phenom II X6 1090T had only 8GB of DDR2 RAM. So I bought a FX-6300, a Newegg refurbished MSI AM3+ MB, and this RAM. Works smooth. Windows 10 upgrade insurance! :)

5 out of 5 eggsBest RAM Available!

Pros: Super reliable; Overclockable; Low height to remove interference with CPU cooler.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I've bought G-Skill RAMs for many years, and they've never failed or ever given me an issue. I'm sticking with them forever if they're prices are staying competitive.

5 out of 5 eggsStable

Pros: Been running 16GB of this in a home server for a few years. It's always been stable, never had any problems. Looks nice too. So I'm I'm upgrading to 32GB. Purchased a second kit yesterday.

Cons: No real cons here, it performs as advertised stable at 1866.

1 out of 5 eggsFaulty Memory - Poor Customer Service

Pros: None. Failed after less than 3 months. It worked pretty good while it did, but at this point this is irrelevant

Cons: Purchased and installed this memory kit three months ago. Recently my PC started on a random break of BSOD, Memtest86+ gave over 60,000 errors and failed Windows Memory Test. I need my PC so I emailed them about alternatives to the RMA process and not having to wait for a replacement. After more than a day I got an email saying no alternative but to return the defective memory for a replacement. Decided to call them, over 30 minutes trying to get through a busy number finally got me into a person that told me the entire RMA process, from sending the modules to getting the new ones shouldn’t take more than 3 to 4 days

Filled an RMA yesterday, got a note saying that if in 72 HOURS I don’t get an RMA number I should submit the RMA again (really?), Just there that is three days waiting for an RMA confirmation only

So I tried to get into their RMA forums to see if I can ask why it takes so long, submitted a request to post into their forum and I’ve been waiting for a “moderator’s approval” from more than 5 hours

This is insane, first company I deal with whose RMA process takes a very long time and that it is so hard to get in contact with. Considering how important memory is for a PC (it won’t work without it) this is completely unacceptable. First and last G Skill product I buy

Other Thoughts: This company has no customer service. I understand faulty memory is something we have to live with, but the replacement process should not be such a pain

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer

We will be glad to help with this issue. This memory kit is above standard, so make sure to configure settings in BIOS/EFI, or enable the XMP/DOCP profile. Without the proper settings, the system can be unstable and cause the memory to error over time. Since there appears to be a problem with the RAM, send them in for RMA exchange and a replacement should work much better. Once you submit the G.Skill RMA request online, you should receive a confirmation email. That ensures we did receive your request and it will be processed right away. You will receive another email with your RMA number and further instructions generally within 1-2 business days. If you do not, feel free to contact us directly so we can help. Some times the RMA email can be in the SPAM folder, or some times the incorrect email address was input, so we can help you sort things out once you get a hold of us. There are many methods to reach us for immediate assistance such as telephone and email. We can take care of any issue right away. The G.Skill support and service is second to none.

Thank you

Quality and customer service are our top priorities.

5 out of 5 eggs32GB Goodness!!!

Pros: *GSkill Warranty - RMA's are easy with these guys
*Nice Looking Ram for my PC
*Seems to hold up well under stress

Cons: To be honest, I've had more Gskill sticks go bad on me than Crucial or Kingston combined. Not sure why. But they always take care of you when it comes to RMA. Quick response and a new stick in days. Service is great and when they work the performance is top notch as well.

Other Thoughts: Now I have a total of 32GB of 1866 in my FX8350 overclocked & watercooled rig. Looking at your utilization and seeing 29GB free is a cool feeling. ;) I plan to hold on to this rig for quite some time. Good stuff.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat sticks for the price $99 free shipping

Pros: had to run xmp profile to get speeds at 1866, but not the ram's fault, i am running on g3258 (oc to 4.8)which does not official support higher than 1333 memory.

After I got ram adjusted to correct timings and speed (1866) ran cpu-z to confirm speed,

Works great

Cons: should have bought 2 sets, Not price went up LOL
