5 out of 5 eggsGskill has a new customer for life

Pros: I had 16 4x4 gig in my new build as this was the best option using 4 cards. I had Gskill in there when I got it running and was following proper memory configurations but it felt sluggish. So I bought 32 gig and now it is running great! Overclocking doesn't seem to bother them and by far the best performing ram I have ever had.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Love this memory

5 out of 5 eggsLots of memory, great reputation

Pros: Maxed out my system's memory capacity. Went with G.SKILL Ripjaws X based on Newegg reviews and awards. Looks great, if you have a system where that matters.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: The built-in heat sink made this a tight fit in my Cooler Master Elite 110 case with Asus Z97i-PLUS motherboard and Corsair H80i liquid cooler. Very little clearance, but it did fit without modification.

4 out of 5 eggsFast-Stable-great warranty!

Pros: There are only 3 types of ram I'll buy for my personal builds after over 20 years of working in I.T.
Gskill, Crucial, or Corsair.

It's been 3 years since my last new build from the ground up and I chose the Gskill for the quality, speed, warranty, and the smaller blue heat sinks compared to the Corsair that's just as good.

I bought 2- 8 Gig kits to load up with 16 gig of DDR 3 1600 ram. Yes the extra 8 gig is over kill for running windows 7 or 8.1 but at the time memory was selling at a the lowest price I have ever seen!

I picked up 16 gig of ram for only $118 which is just a super low price that I could not pass up!

The Corsair which is just as good was selling for only $100 for a 16 gig kit but had larger heat sinks that could interfere with the Coolmaster EVO air cooler.

Hard OCP is still using Corsair 1600 ram on all there 1155 and 1150 motherboard socket benchmark tests.

I had a issue with a single stick of the G.Skill after my Asus P-Z68-Deluxe/Gen3 motherboards voltage regular failed killing the board, a video card and the single stick of ram.

Sent the ram in with a RMA with the other good stick from the kit and received a brand new matching kit within 10 days. Great customer service from Gskill has me sold on buying it in the future as well.

You really can't go wrong with any of the top 3 ram producers I mentioned above but GSkills customer service is really great and the cache latency of this ram was faster than the Corsair by a small margin.

It will over-clock well but that was under testing conditions.

After 20 + years in IT I'm not into over-clocking anymore, I'm into stability!

I realize that with my 2500k i5 I can get a extra gig in speed by over-clocking it but I just don't bother with over clocking anymore with motherboards. memory, or video cards anymore.

I usually will go with a new build when the tech changes enough to justify it. So far the clock speeds of the new CPUs are not worth the cost of a new motherboard and CPU.

Cons: Not quite as over-clockable as the Corsair 1600 due to the lower cache latency of the ram.

Other Thoughts: AS mentioned above GSkill has great customer service that can justify it's slightly higher cost!

You really can't go wrong with any of the top three memory producers that I mentioned above so I picked the Gskill and have been very happy with it.

Once bad stick after about 3 years of daily running and it was replaced with no questioned asked and very, very quickly!

I also happen to be a smoker and I know how much smoking around your PC can damage all internal parts.

I have to clean my entire system every 6 months to avoid the damage caused by smoking around my PC.

I'll clean all fans, blow out the memory, the motherboard, and my radiator for my closed loop water cooler which can take about 8 hours each time.

I thought Gskill would find some tar from the smoke under the heat sink and void the warranty but they surprised me with a new 8 gig kit!

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear G.Skill RAM always works well in your system, and support and service is always top notch. As far as DRAM, you will find the best quality chips and performance at the best price. Lower CAS Latency actually means the RAM can be overclocked even more, because once you raise the timing and voltage, the frequency will go up easier than any other type of RAM. With any overclocking, the final step is always running a series of tests to ensure the system is stable like an overclocked computer. So if done correctly, stability and reliability should be no different than a standard computer. Though especially with RAM, it does require experience as it is not a simple task. For any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

Thank you for choosing G.Skill

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Product

Pros: It does what it promises. I bought the product during Cyber Monday and it was a steal! The product shipped very fast and I'm very lucky to not the get the defective one. lol Overall, the product is fast and going from 4GB RAM to 16GB was a huge noticeable difference.

Cons: As of now, there isn't anything wrong with the product at all.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Memory at a great price!

Pros: I got this RAM on sale for $122 during Black Friday and for that deal it's a steal! I have that along with my Crucial Ballistix Tactical LP, all running at DDR3-1600 in my Asus M5A99FX Pro R2.0, and it runs great on OpenSuSE 13.1 with a VM of Lubuntu 14.04 LTS as my server. This RAM is stable thus far, looks great and stays cool!

Cons: None so far, my first time running G.Skill RAM (I've always been a Kingston HyperX or Corsair XMS fan in the past) after great reviews from friends and online. Let's see how it goes! :: knocks on wood ::
