1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I am not very satisfied I have not received my product yet and they want me to rate my satisfaction. Well guess it's unanswered because I haven't received my package it just says staged for delevary. So I highly recommend not to use the new egg super saver if they are going to send it through ontrack because my package has been sitting in Fontana for 5 days and they can not give me a answer when I will receive my package and I will never order from new egg again.

Cons: Look at my pros

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Trouble Free Memory

Pros: Built my wife a mild gaming machine.

I chose G.Skills as my mentor (Carey Holzman) uses their memory more than any other on his customer builds.

Prior to ordering, I sent G.Skills a list of questions just to be sure their memory would work with the components I planned on using.

Less than 24 hrs later, G.Skills responded not only with the answers to my questions, but other tips and to assure me they would walk me through if any problem did occur.

There were no problems, but knowing I would have service after the sale was a biggie for me. I could not ask for more.

Cons: None!!!

Other Thoughts: IF...anyone reading this wants to know the components I chose to go along with the 32gb of G.Skills memory.

1. Gigabyte G1 Gaming GA-Z97X-Gaming 5 (rev. 1.0)

Overclocking the components - Not yet. Everything is set on default. Reason? My wife won't let me OC her system. She knows if something goes wrong that's a problem we created, not the fault of the components.

BTW, when I told G.Skills I wasn't going to OC, they told me I should and would guide me through the proper procedure to assure system stability. Still, my wife said NO!!

2. EVGA GeForce GT 740 02G-P4-3747-RX 2GB 128-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 Video Card.

My wife isn't a big gamer, YET. Will have to wait and see if that changes. Till then, this card will do OK.

3. Samsung 850 EVO 2.5" 250gb SATA III 3-D Vertical Internal SSD.

4. Intel Core i7-4790K. Using the factory cooling fan.

5. Corsair CX750M PSU.

The rest...Samsung 27" monitor, Cooler Master HAF 912 case, LG DVD burner and a Star Tech multi-card reader.

As you can see, there's nothing fancy about her set-up.

Our #1 goal is stability over everything else. My wife has put it through it's paces and after approx 1 week, it's run flawlessly. No BSOD's or nagging error messages.

G.Skills is a big part of the "flawless" puzzle.

Bottom line...If I could do it all over again, G.Skills would remain my choice of memory.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Sale, Fast Shipping, No Bad Sectors

Pros: Title says it all.
Purchased to a rig to do 3d.

Great sale, fast shipping.
Ran a Memtest86 over night with no issues.

Cons: They are blue and my mobo is red, but that really doesn't matter right?

Other Thoughts: Has 0 issues with this kit so far but I've had to RMA a G.Skill in the past. The shipping took a long time because theyre located overseas from where I live but the service people were awesome.

5 out of 5 eggsG.Skill Continues to Deliver a Great Product

Pros: I am a repeat buyer of G.Skill becuase they work.

Cons: The biggest problem with these sticks are the heatsinks. I had to raise the cpu fan to accommodate them. Not a big deal but it can cause a problem if you are overclocking the CPU.

I do wish they they had better timing 7-x-x or 8-x-x without using OC.

Other Thoughts: I would like to suggest to Newegg that you DO NOT ship these in a padded envelope. This method of packing offers no protection, especially on a conveyor belt with heavy boxes. I not have the time to return & replace a damaged item.

5 out of 5 eggsMaximizes the processor...Nice!

Pros: Price point better than lower timings.

Cons: timings on paper are slower, though for higher capacity sticks, however no loss perceptible here.

Other Thoughts: Upgrading to 4x8 GB (this memory) from 4x4 GB, F3-12800CL7D-8GBXM, made my 4-core FX-4100 work to its full potential on a gigabyte GA-970A-UD3. My perception is the additional memory trafficked better, but this just seemed to hum along perfectly, getting higher frame rates of conversion (video conversion). Very satisfied.

5 out of 5 eggsWell Worth The Money

Pros: Efficient, fast, worth the price. My ToR character loads in 8-11 seconds now on average from 20-30 seconds when I had 16 gigs of RAM. I work at home as well and my virtual network loads up much faster. Video editing is very quick as well

Cons: Wish they were black, but oh well

Other Thoughts: I had 16GB of Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600 before and one of the sticks was going bad when I sent my computer in to check and make sure my components were safe after my old PSU fried (I was aware a stick was bad, but it was starting to get worse). I caught a promo code deal last week with this kit and it was well worth the money. I've always wanted 32 gigs of RAM in my system and now I have it and it's totally worth it. G-Skill is quite a good brand if you can't afford Corsair

5 out of 5 eggsINCREDIBLE Value

Pros: EXTREMELY great Cost-to-Performance/Capacity/Quality/Looks ratio. No stability, speed, or compatibility issues.

Cons: Doesn't overclock well for me. Any slight changes to CAS timings or CPU timing ratios would produce failures in MemTest. HOWEVER, that doesn't really matter for everyday performance. Benchmark-after-benchmark shows that there's typically no noticeable real-world performance difference in DDR3 MHz past a certain point, and 1600MHz seems to be a sweet spot. Minor bumps to benchmark numbers occur, but when performing everyday tasks or playing games, it doesn't factor as much as other components. Still important to note if you plan on overclocking this RAM for whatever reason.

Other Thoughts: I've been using this particular quad-DIMM setup from G.Skill with my ASUS Maximus V Formula motherboard and Intel 3770k for over 2 and a half years and have LOVE them. Not a single issue, failure, or oddity. As long as I don't change timings, I've had no issues keeping stable overclocks ranging from 4.3GHz to 4.7GHz. 10/10 would RAM again. ;)

5 out of 5 eggsAlways Dependable

Pros: Consistently good quality from G. Skill

Cons: None that I have found

Other Thoughts: I've been using G. Skill memory for new builds and upgrades for about five years and have never had any issues. This set was no exception. I split these into 16GB installations for two builds.

2 out of 5 eggsDo Not Use With MSI Mainboards

Pros: -Inexpensive compared to the competition for what you get.
-G.Skill stuff is usually good quality.

Cons: -Major compatibility issues with MSI mainboards (see other thoughts.)

Other Thoughts: I checked beforehand and the G.Skill product page for this product (found at specifically lists my MSI Z77A-GD65 mainboard as among those that are compatible with this kit. However, once it was installed, my system became incredibly unstable. If any 2 of the 4 sticks were installed in any pair of the sockets on my mainboard, the system was unstable but less so. If all 4 sticks were installed, the system wouldn't load Windows without a blue screen. I assumed I just got a faulty product, then I found this thread which is stickied on the MSI mainboards forums: It appears that MSI boards have many known issues with all kinds of G.Skill RAM. In some cases, you can manually work around the problem, in some cases you can't. Needless to say, this product does not appear to be properly compatible with my mainboard, despite G.Skill's claims. I've already setup an RMA and ordered a more expensive Corsair kit instead. I've generally had good experiences with G.Skill and the pricing on their products is great but apparently, that comes with some caveats. If you have an MSI board, be warned.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer

We are sorry to hear you had issues. There is absolutely no compatibility issues with MSI motherboards. The first thing to check is whether you have the latest BIOS for the motherboard. To determine whether it is a problem with a stick, or a compatibility issue, test one module at a time to see if one performs differently. This RAM is also above standard, so it is necessary to enable XMP or manually input settings for the memory. Without doing so, the system may not recognize the specifications properly. In the future, if you have such problems, please contact the G.Skill support team directly. We can help determine the culprit of any instability and make sure the RAM is running fast in your computer.

Thank you

Quality and customer service are our top priorities.
