4 out of 5 eggsI did want it...But

Pros: Be nice in me Toshiba Lappy, but not just yet!

Cons: Price is too high right now, less than a year ago it was half the price it is now.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. 16GB of DDR3-1600 is definitely a great upgrade for any laptop that can support it. Gaming, streaming, HD editing, can all be done at the same time without any lag or delays. With regards to pricing, unfortunately that is something we can not control. If you compare with other brands, you will still find that G.Skill is the lowest price. With RAM, if you see a good deal, get it immediately because the price may go up or the item may go out of stock quickly. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks in Mac Mini Late 2012 Model

Pros: It was cheap when I bought it. About $45. The current price is ridiculous.

It has been working for over a year on my Late 2012 Mac Mini with Core i7, contrary to some other reviews.

Cons: None, except the performance compared to a DDR3 1333 (that I upgraded from) was negligible.

5 out of 5 eggsBest RAM EVER

Pros: Love this RAM. It was 100% compatible with my Lenovo G580 laptop. It had no failure for more than a year. According to lenovo and the laptop's manual an upgrade was impossible but Gskill made it possible. Recommended to all whom want to upgrade their laptops. Of course the price got up to much. I purchased it when it was $74.99 for 16 Gb(2x8)

Cons: Too much for it right now. I payed only $74.99

Other Thoughts: Best ever

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: cheap

Cons: DOA

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer

We apologize for any inconvenience. Please send the memory in for RMA exchange and a replacement should work flawlessly. To determine whether a module is defective, test one at a time to see if both perform the same. If the computer supports DDR3-1600, 8GB per slot, this memory kit should work flawlessly. For any further questions or concerns, feel free to contact us directly.

5 out of 5 eggsruns great in Mac Mini (Late 2012) for past year

Pros: Bought this on a great sale after I ordered a Black Friday Mac Mini on T-day 2012. Snapped right in, booted up, never a problem in the last year. Runs great. I use it every day. Kids play all sorts of games on Windows 7 dual boot. I was looking for more at the same great price and started reading bad reviews. Ouch, I don't think I am lucky, maybe I am. Still no problems what so ever for me in past year on both Mac and Windows 7.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Thought I would add my success in to balance all the problems I see listed. I, like most people, don't write reviews when all is good. Maybe I'm in the silent majority.

5 out of 5 eggsNeeded

Pros: 16GB seems to be the bare minimum for my Mac Mini VMWare server.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Its memory. As long as it is not DOA, then you usually get what you pay for. Not gaming or anything requiring fast speeds.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Price

Cons: These SDRAM are either DOA or incompatible with my laptop, Toshiba Satellit L855D-S5220. They produce garbage on the screen and prevent the laptop from booting, I have also tried installing one at a time and get the same results, have contacted the MFG and they said to update the bios which I did but get the same results. I should have heeded all the other bad reviews.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

We are sorry to hear you had issues with the RAM. If you have the latest BIOS and the system was still unstable, sounds like there is a compatibility issue with this particular model laptop. We will contact Toshiba to see if they can provide an update to improve the problem. Based on laptop manufacturer specifications, the laptop model mentioned should be capable of DDR3-1600 CL11 8GB modules. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.
