Other Thoughts: If you need a straight upgrade in available memory size this should be way more than enough for any laptop user. Now that I have 16Gb instead of 6Gb I've been purposefully leaving multiple webpages open and running things like Rainmeter just to see how much I can use and I haven't been able to come close with running regular programs. I play Watchdogs and Far Cry and it's definitely still more than enough.

Pros: I shopped it via google and then when I found the RAM I needed I went to newegg and you guys beat everyone else. Got it fast even though it was Christmas week. Plugged it in and it was recognized immediately and even makes my cheap laptop work faster! I wished I would have did it sooner.

Pros: Most people dont know it but there are several laptops that can take 16GB, All the AMD A Series have so far accepted the 16GB as well as Intel's i series Laptops that were tested. Brought back to life my old AMD A-4. DDR3 will work on older laptops that dont accept DDR3L

Other Thoughts: A LOT of laptops come with only 4 GB RAM. So, I bought the 16 GB kit - and used one piece of 8 in two X220 Tablet laptops. This allows us to upgrade to 12 or 16 if future needs change.

The original specs of the Thinkpad X220 Tablet max out at only 8 GB, but you can definitely use these to get 8, 12 or 16 as you like. At the time the X220 was created, memory was a LOT more expensive and nothing higher than 8 GB was either available or affordable. Times have changed - this is a great upgrade and very affordable.

From what I've read there is just no point in getting memory faster than this - there might be perhaps a 1% speed increase - just not worth it.

Pros: Inexpensive, even cheaper on CyberMonday. Maxed out my RAM in HP ENVY TouchSmart Sleekbook 4(I used to have 6Gb, now have 16! :)) Running multiple IDEs, VMs, Emulators is no longer a problem. Passed the MemTest86 test, I ran it for over 6 hours-- no errors of any kind. Happy so far-- just put it in today!

Other Thoughts: Will definitely continue purchasing G.Skill RAM. This is the first RMA I have had to do on their RAM, and they lived up to their lifetime warranty!

Pros: For the past two years, the ram has been very fast and very reliable. Just recently started getting random blue screens / crashes.

Cons: The blue screens and crashes were getting more frequent in an ASUS G46VW, so I tested the sticks in a Lenovo Y580. Both laptops now report errors on both sticks of ram (one more so than the other), regardless of which slot on the laptop is used.

Other Thoughts: Testing the memory in two laptops with memtest86 confirmed both are in fact bad (testing individually and together in both slots of the laptops). Just submitted the RMA... have to love the lifetime warranty.
