5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Value for 2400mhz

Pros: the performance is outstanding, and all at a relatively great price

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Outstanding bang for the buck value here. This is exactly what I needed for my mini-itx Bobcat APU build.
Tweaked the ram to run @ 1333mhz with timing of cas5-6-5-23 T1 with my E2-1800

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Value

Pros: I like the physical look of the memory, and the performance is outstanding, and all at a relatively great price.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Out of the box, my motherboard loaded these at 1333mhz. However, simply selecting xmp profile 1 put them right where advertised, 2400mhz with 10 cas latency.

I am a 3D technical artist, using 3d applications and game engines. I haven't done any crazy long stress testing, but I have done some full cpu load renders for several minutes without any trouble. Although, I wasn't expecting to see any trouble yet since it's where it's advertised. Had I seen a crash, I'd have to take all stars (eggs) away, at this speed at least. I probably will not attempt any further overclocking of the memory.

Outstanding bang for the buck value here. This is exactly what I needed for my mini-itx Kaveri APU build. Granted, I haven't tried a whole lot of games on it yet, however, of all that I've tried, it's run everything at max settings at 1050p (weird old monitor).

4 out of 5 eggsSolid RAM

Pros: -Install as easy as any other RAM install. Pop in chips. Go into BIOS and tweak your timings, if that's your thing.
-Speaking of which, these guys handle a pretty decent overclocking, too. I run them at stock, but have briefly cranked them up to 2400 just for the curiosity of it, and they still ran stable under stress test. See other reviews for more details on this, as most seem to have had similar success and ease getting them up there.

Cons: -None that I have encountered so far. G.Skill RAM tends to be great value. These chips were no exception.
-Can't somehow magically make Unity engine use more than 4 gigs of it(OK, OK.. I just didn't want to use the ol' 'doesn't do my laundry' line again.)

Other Thoughts: Been running 4 x 4GB of these for a few months now, and was running 2 x 4GB for a year or so before that. No problems whatsoever adding the additional 2 x 4GB, and no RAM-related issues since. Running W7x64.

Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear the memory was easy to install and they overclocked very nicely. This is a top end RipJaws Z series kit so it is definitely a high performer. 16GB of DDR3-2400 will allow your system to be capable of anything you put it to. G.Skill RAM is the best value; you will always get the best quality product, price, service, and support. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

4 out of 5 eggsNice and fast

Pros: Clocks to 2400 as stated. On a z87x needed to manually set volts 1.5 to 1.65 and multiple to 2400 from 1600. For some reason the xmp profile will not do it. Not a big deal.
Prime passed everything. Price is hard to beat for the clocking of 10 11 11 31.

Love newegg.com

Cons: None yet. Can't rate 5 stars. Longevity has not been determined.

4 out of 5 eggsQuality Ram

Pros: Works great out of the box. Ran as expected and has no real problems.

Looks aesthetically pleasing, goes great with the blue/black color scheme I accidentally developed for the inside of the PC.

Cons: I was not astounded with the RAM, hence the 4 egg rating.

The large metal heat sinks are warmer than expected during operation. I guess that's why they are there.

Ran at 1333mhz out of the box. Was able to tweak to 2400mhz in the bios settings though, however, the latency was higher. I don't think it makes much of a difference, but worth noting.

Would not have purchased at the normal price. I suggest waiting for a sale.

Other Thoughts: Works as expected, no real qualms. Will buy again down the line when I upgrade to 16gb RAM... on sale of course.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear you like the appearance of the RAM and it is working great. This memory kit is extreme speed so manual configuration is required or the XMP/DOCP profile needs to be enabled. Without the proper settings in BIOS, the memory will default to a standard value such as DDR3-1333. Once the performance settings are input, the computer can operate at full speed. CPU and memory temps are expected to be higher since the frequency is significantly greater when comparing DDR3-1333 vs. DDR3-2400. With regards to pricing, the memory is a great value at the current purchase price. For any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat

Pros: Fast and stable!
Tweaked the ram to run @ 2400mhz with timing of cas9-11-11-30 T1 with my 3570k @ 4.5ghz on air.

Everything stable will be testing 4.7ghz cpu soon.

FYI - All ram rated above 1600mhz are over clock and thus not certain to hit that mark, also you will need to mess with voltage, overhead, and possible disable power saving functions to get 2400mhz(especially if you OC your cpu prior to installing ram

Cons: Bios listed ram voltage at 1.650v but set it to 1.800v for some reason. I have to use tuning software to correct it.
