5 out of 5 eggsgooooood

Pros: memtest shows about 14GB/s transfer rate(per channel),
aida64 memory test: read 51549MBs, write 44102MBs, copy 50112MBs
x79 platform

Cons: not 10 10 10

Other Thoughts: installed it, set the xmp profile and it runs perfect, that's what i expect from high quality ram, good job gskill

5 out of 5 eggsFast 2400mhz, XMP profiles

Pros: Look good, and compliments my black/white case really well. G skill Life time warranty. G Skill fast turn around time if there is a need to RMA. XMP ready.. although I installed this in a sabertooth x79/ i7-4930k, and it was tricky to actually get a stable oc and get the advertised speed using their voltage / timings compared to my original 1866 sniper series. XMP settings worked great and booted right up, but manually doing it and getting my processor oc settings figured out took awhile. Overall happy and actually getting my 4930k up to 5ghz and under 70c, by having a higher base clock than my old 1866 could handle.

Cons: None really..

Other Thoughts: These were cheaper at the time than the trident series, but I wonder if those series are any easier to set up with a an over clocked cpu? Over all I am happier with the black/blue than the red Trident series..

5 out of 5 eggsRAM G.SKILL RAM

Pros: Good RAM from a solid manufacturer. Performs as advertised.
This RAM has done very well by me. No issues whatsoever.

Cons: Overclocking RAM is kind of pointless, so unless your MOBO can push DDR3 2400 from the get-go, you'll be running at (in my case) 1866.

Other Thoughts: For most general users, and by that I mean hardcore gamers and entry level photo/video editors, RAM speed is almost snake oil after DDR3 1600. Honestly, I've seen benchmark after benchmark where the difference between 1600 and 2400 is marginal at best. Don't concern yourself too hard with RAM speed as much as getting it from a trustworthy manufacturer.

5 out of 5 eggsExactly What I Expected

Pros: It's a low profile kit, and not too shabby looking too. The height doesn't interfere with coolers that I've used, mainly the Corsair H80, and the stock Intel unit (for testing).

Great for a fast RAMDisk. The last test I did with it, which was a long time ago, I recall speeds reaching in excess of 14000MB/s for certain reads. Minecraft, not the only thing I use a RAMDisk for, runs exceptionally well on this kit. Source engine based games also like high speed RAM as shown by various online benchmarks, and I can attest to that; while not massive, at least a few frames or more.

Heat isn't a concern. Unless you have extremely poor ventilation perhaps.

All the XMP profiles work as I expect--no problems.

RAM operates as it should, even when stressed, at 1.65 V no problem with vdroop taking effect as well.

There is quite a bit of overclocking headroom from what I can tell. Like another reviewer, I was able to increase to around ~2500MHz on the stock voltage. tRAS and tRP timings can also be reduced dramatically on stock voltage, but obviously that may affect you adversely.

Cons: I hate "stylish" stickers on tech. I either want it plain or engraved/embossed. So the blue stickers, while they match,

Nothing bad to report otherwise.

Other Thoughts: I had to up my VTT by 0.10 V and up the "VTT Loadline Calibration", aka how much vDroop will occur, by a tad too to become stable.

I also cannot lower the command rate to 1T on the stock voltage/stock timings. If however you wish to increase the DIMM voltage nominally, I managed to reduce timings enough to make a difference in benchmarks.

"Any RMA's at all" you ask? Actually, the first kit I received had 2 bad sticks. But I am not listing this as a con since there's always the chance with advanced technology that you may be one of the unlucky few to get a bad part. Upon a quick RMA to Newegg, I got a new kit, and it's worked perfectly ever since. Even if this had occurred out of the Newegg return policy deadline, GSkill has always treated me well, so I'm not worried if I would have to go through them. I doubt though I ever will need to with this kit.

This is all with a Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H Rev 1.1 BIOS F14 and a 3770K.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Memory

Pros: This memory runs completely stable at 2520MHz with stock voltages and timings. I've run every stability and burn-in test under the sun and haven't been able to get the system to falter.

Cons: I'd have preferred it in red to match the motherboard. Oh case doesn't have a window anyways.

Other Thoughts: I'm running an Asus Rampage IV Gene board with the latest BIOS, an i7-3820 overclocked to 4.5GHz with a Corsair H100i cooler, a pair of GTX 770's and CoolMax 1.2KW PSU to power everything.

1 out of 5 eggsnot working

Pros: If I get some working ram I'll post some pros.. right now none.

Cons: It will boot off auto settings. but speed is 1333. Will not run at 1600, 1866, 2133 or 2400 mhz. I manually set the timings and voltage. Now I need to RMA it... not happy.

Other Thoughts: 3930K@4.3ghz with GSKILL F3-17000CL9Q-16GBZH @ 2133 MHZ.. EVGA X79 FTW

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer

We are sorry to hear you are having issues. Please test one module at a time to see if one is performing differently. It is extremely unlikely all modules can not run higher than DDR3-1333, so tests are needed to determine the cause. Also, make sure you have the latest BIOS for the motherboard. This memory kit should work very well with that motherboard and CPU. Your computer will be a super performer with this RAM. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

Thank you

Quality and customer service are our top priorities.

5 out of 5 eggsWorking as intended

Pros: Put the memory in, motherboard clocked it to the correct speed out of the box. Applications still run fine.

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect, fast, cool, stable

Pros: Stylish - understated - low-ish profile - black heatsinks, cheap for the speed, very fast, overclock friendly and they run cool (luke warm to warm under 8 threads of prime95 1024k memory torture)

Cons: not compatible with every motherboard (obviously not ram or Gskill's fault)

Other Thoughts: I use an Asrock z77 extreme9 and the ram does not run stably out of the box, I upped the VTT (mem controler) by 0.1-0.2volts and actually had to put down the voltage on these from 1.65v to 1.6 and they run at 2400MHz (@spec) solid as a rock. If it wasn't for the sexy white/black design that fit my cases colour scheme I wouldn't recommend asrock.
