It's Not the Fastest, Until It's TridentX!
Memory Frequency World Record at DDR3 4404MHz
TridentXBreaking the highest DDR3 speed world record at a staggering 4404MHzMHz in 2012, the G.SKILL TridentX series is known as the world's most powerful and fastest DDR3 memory available on the market. Named after the powerful weapon of Poseidon, Greek God of the Seas, G.SKILL TridentX is imbued with extreme overclocking capabilities waiting to be unleashed in your system.
Removable Heat Spreader Fin
The G.SKILL TridentX series features a removable heat spreader fin to improve your cooling options. With the heat spreader fin, the increased surface area keeps the memory cooler. Alternatively, with a system that already has a sufficient cooling solution, the fins can be removed to accommodate massive CPU coolers or other customized cooling solutions.

The G.SKILL TridentX heat-spreader comes with removable top fin design. It allows overclocking enthusiasts to have more flexible options of memory cooling systems, as well as to reduce the height to fit with large CPU coolers.
Extreme Performance
Extreme overclockers and PC enthusiasts look no further, G.SKILL's TridentX DDR3 memory will push your system to an unimaginable limit. Not only available at ultra high frequencies of 2400MHz, 2600MHz, 2666MHz, 2800MHz and 3000MHz, but also available with extremely low timings at 2133MHz CL9, 1866MHz CL8, and 1600MHz CL7!
Intel XMP Support
TridentX All G.SKILL DDR3 memory comes with the latest Intel XMP standard developed for the Intel platform. It provides PC enthusiasts an entirely trouble-free overclocking experience to boost their 4th Gen Intel® Core™ processors with Intel 8 series systems for extreme levels of performance, while retaining system stability.

Lifetime Warranty
All G.SKILL memory products come with a lifetime warranty and the G.SKILL technical team is always ready to provide consumers with complete technical support via online forums, telephone, and email.
TridentX Editor's Choice at Techpowerup
If you follow my posts on the forums, you'll find that I consider myself one of Corsair's biggest fans, but those feelings were thrown completely out of whack when I received this kit from G.Skill. The G.Skill F3-2666C11Q-16GTXD kit managed to completely amaze me with its quality and clocking ability, and I fell in love after checking its price. You cannot find a 4 x 4GB 2666MHz kit for less right now unless it's been put on sale. This kit manages to overcome any performance deficiencies with flexibility and great overhead. At stock, I managed to beat out my trusty Corsair Dominator Platinum kit with a little bit of tweaking. Overclocked, the G.Skill F3-2666C11Q-16GTXD kit managed to go just as high without a boost in voltage. That is just outright fantastic.
TridentXEditor's Choice at Neoseeker
G. Skill's 2400 MHz Trident X kit put on an impressive display of performance, easily overcoming the competition in all but four of the benchmarks used. Unfortunately, the memory was bottlenecked by the processor -- limiting the overclock to a 104 bclk and leaving us with a final overclock of 2218MHz and timings of 10-12-12-31 2T. Paired with a 3rd generation Intel processor, G. Skill's 2400 MHz Trident X kit would have benefited greatly from the increased bandwidth and has the potential to hit 2500MHz with some fine tuning.
TridentXGold Award at OverClockersClub
G.Skill's Trident X line-up comes with kits that range from the 2400MHz kit we are looking at to a 2800MHz kit for massive memory speeds and the associated bandwidth that is a hallmark of higher speed bins. It seems that G.Skill is most definitely targeting the budget overclocker with this set of Trident X modules. A $99 price tag for 2400MHz-rated modules is a welcome sight after seeing huge price tags just a few months back for cas8 and 9 modules binned above 2133MHz. The Trident X are modules that perform well and deliver some overhead for a little bit more tweaking and come with G.Skill's lifetime warranty. Excellent looks aside, the Trident X would make a good addition to any system and have the flexibility to be cooled in multiple ways.

5 out of 5 eggsThey work!

Pros: Worked out of the box

Cons: Kinda tall..

I cant get them to run full speed on my current set up. :(

Other Thoughts: Gotta love the warranty. These are still quick, until the price of ddr4 goes down.

5 out of 5 eggsUPDATE

Pros: Previously I stated that they were not 100% stable with CR1, this was false. I guess that I must have set something else in the bios to cause this issue.

I have the kit running now at 2400Mhz and timings of 10-11-11-30 CR 1 @ 1.65V. YMMV, but I'm glad I got this ram and would recommend it.

Cons: None so far, heatsinks are a little big and don't really do much for me.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: Basically it's common knowledge that RAM frequency doesn't impact FPS in games, but I can tell a sizable improvement in the runtime of my scientific work using higher frequency RAM.

Kit is stable at 2400 10-12-12-31 CR 2, command rate 1 gave some errors in AIDA 64 but this seems to have gone away when I bumped the voltage a tad past 1.65. I'm on i5-4690K @ 4.4, so maybe the overclock is why CR 1 isn't as stable.

Cons: None so far. I worried at first because this was pretty cheap for 2400 CL 10, but I'm glad this was the kit I bought. G.Skill may be my go to RAM in the future.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat buy

Pros: Works great in an MSI z97 Gaming 5, stable with XMP enabled

Cons: If you need to remove the heat spreader you have to completely remove the screws, as small as they are I can see them going away if you accidentally drop them.

Other Thoughts: Working Great, stable as well. Only issue is the temp video card I have in the system. As it is temp I'm not concerned Going to get a GTX 970.

5 out of 5 eggsRunning @2133MHz, but 91010-28 !

Pros: Because rated @ 2400MHz, it runs @2133 with 9-10-10-28 timings on An AsRock Z75 Pro3 with a i5-2500K up to 4.9GHz
The Z75 chipset is the same as a Z77 except less a couple of features, but the memory controller and CPU performance are the same.

Cons: Took a week to get here with "free" DHL mail.

Other Thoughts: It made sense to me to have 2400MHz upgrade-ability, even though my i5 2500K limits the Z75 Pro3 to 2133MHz. I figured I would get faster timings though than 2133 rated memory, which turned out to be true.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as advertised

Pros: I recently built a new system with this and have had no problems so far. Passed with flying colors on MemTest 10-pass test. I also ran 4 other benchmark applications and found no problems. I didn't have to mess with the BIOS to make this work with my GA-Z97X-UD3H-BK board. I was pleasantly surprised the system booted the first try.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: It was tight slipping this back in after I installed my Hyper Evo 212 cooler. I will not hesitate to buy another kit if needed in the future. This is the first time I bought G. Skill so I hope this keeps up.

4 out of 5 eggsThis ram actually works as advertised!

Pros: RAM actually runs at advertised speed!

Cons: unsure how long it will last

Other Thoughts: I've been burned by GSkill in the past (bought RAM that would not run at advertised speeds, but ran fine underclocked), but this stuff actually works.
I took the risk because the price was too good to pass up, and ultimately, I'm a cheapskate at heart.

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsFast, easy RAM from G.SKILL

Pros: I popped both sticks in an ASUS Maximus VI Hero (Z87), entered BIOS to change AI Overclock Tuner to "XMP" (Profile 1), and off I went. All 8GB were recognized and are running at rated speeds.

Cons: None so far. Been running only two weeks, but MemTest came out perfect.

Other Thoughts: These 2x4GB DDR3 2400 sticks replaced 2x4GB DDR3 1600 sticks from Kingston. This wasn't a planned upgrade, but since these were on sale for a few dollars more than the 2x4GB sticks I was going to buy for another build, I figured I'd buy the fast stuff for me and give the Kingston to the other build.
