Memory Frequency World Record at DDR3 4404MHz
Breaking the highest DDR3 speed world record at a staggering 4404MHz in 2013, G.SKILL TridentX series is known as the world's most powerful and fastest DDR3 memory available on the market. Named after the powerful weapon of Poseidon, Greek God of the Seas, G.SKILL TridentX is imbued with extreme overclocking capabilities waiting to be unleashed in your system.

Features

Removable Heat Spreader Fin

The G.SKILL TridentX series features a removable heat spreader fin to improve your cooling options. With the heat spreader fin, the increased surface area keeps the memory cooler. Alternatively, with a system that already has a sufficient cooling solution, the fins can be removed to accommodate massive CPU coolers or other customized cooling solutions.

Extreme overclockers and PC enthusiasts look no further, G.SKILL's TridentX DDR3 memory will push your system to an unimaginable limit. Not only available at ultra high frequencies of 2400MHz, 2600MHz, 2666MHz, 2800MHz and 3000MHz, but also available with extremely low timings at 2133MHz CL9, 1866MHz CL8, and 1600MHz CL7!

If you follow my posts on the forums, you'll find that I consider myself one of Corsair's biggest fans, but those feelings were thrown completely out of whack when I received this kit from G.Skill. The G.Skill F3-2666C11Q-16GTXD kit managed to completely amaze me with its quality and clocking ability, and I fell in love after checking its price. You cannot find a 4 x 4GB 2666MHz kit for less right now unless it's been put on sale. This kit manages to overcome any performance deficiencies with flexibility and great overhead. At stock, I managed to beat out my trusty Corsair Dominator Platinum kit with a little bit of tweaking. Overclocked, the G.Skill F3-2666C11Q-16GTXD kit managed to go just as high without a boost in voltage. That is just outright fantastic.

G. Skill's 2400 MHz Trident X kit put on an impressive display of performance, easily overcoming the competition in all but four of the benchmarks used. Unfortunately, the memory was bottlenecked by the processor -- limiting the overclock to a 104 bclk and leaving us with a final overclock of 2218MHz and timings of 10-12-12-31 2T. Paired with a 3rd generation Intel processor, G. Skill's 2400 MHz Trident X kit would have benefited greatly from the increased bandwidth and has the potential to hit 2500MHz with some fine tuning.

Gold Award at OverClockersClub

G.Skill's Trident X line-up comes with kits that range from the 2400MHz kit we are looking at to a 2800MHz kit for massive memory speeds and the associated bandwidth that is a hallmark of higher speed bins. It seems that G.Skill is most definitely targeting the budget overclocker with this set of Trident X modules. A $99 price tag for 2400MHz-rated modules is a welcome sight after seeing huge price tags just a few months back for cas8 and 9 modules binned above 2133MHz. The Trident X are modules that perform well and deliver some overhead for a little bit more tweaking and come with G.Skill's lifetime warranty. Excellent looks aside, the Trident X would make a good addition to any system and have the flexibility to be cooled in multiple ways.

5 out of 5 eggsFast, Affordable, Stable RAM

Pros: Works Perfect in an ASUS MAXIMUS VII HERO and matches the color scheme.

Heavy duty feel.

Heat sinks designed to pull every last bit of cooling possible while remaining AWESOME looking.

Cons: Does not help me get a new girlfriend?

Other Thoughts: I have put together a lot of systems (well over a thousand) and this is the first time I have ever felt like the RAM could be used as a weapon for self defense.

SUPER FAST BUILD. Running Folding@home for 7 straight days, averaging 64K PPD and running cool, pulling 294 watts from the wall (including Samsung 27 in. monitor).

5 out of 5 eggsFaster than I need

Pros: - The RAM is FAST
- It looks good

Cons: - Premium speed, Premium Price
- Faster than I really needed, I purchased it with my eyes instead of my head.

Other Thoughts: Really most people won't need 2400 RAM. You probably won't note the difference between 1600 and 2400 for most applications.

5 out of 5 eggsfast ram !

Pros: love the color it fits in nicely with my motherboard but the heatsinks are a tad tall might interfere with some cpu coolers

Cons: not really a con but xmp profiles are funny one is 2399 and the other 2400 the 2399 is more stable and oddly runs faster ?!

5 out of 5 eggsG.SKILL Trident X 16GB DDR3-2400

Pros: It's fast and it works. What more can be said?

Cons: When setting this up on a Newegg ASUS Sabertooth 990FX MB, the first stick of RAM showed correctly, but it didn't find the second stick.

The UEFI BIOS made it easy to set the RAM voltage at the recommended 1.65V, and both sticks have been found ever since.

Other Thoughts: Would consider getting another set of the same, only to set up a 16GB RAM drive if needed.

Maybe later.

Pros: The G.Skill F3-2400C10D-16GTX is some great memory, I just set it, and forget it,it worked great on my MSI Z87 MPower Max and my Asus Z87 Maximus VI Hero when it presently resides.

Cons: Their is no cons when it comes to G.Skill memory.

Other Thoughts: I love G.Skill I have been buying G.Skill for more than 4 years and have always been more than satisfied, really its basically its the only memory I buy anymore because it always been stable and reliable.
