5 out of 5 eggsMake sure to run Memtest86+

Pros: Good specs, 1600Mhz 9-9-9-24, and a great value. Even though the first set of memory was bad, newegg was great at replacing it free of charge. Be sure to always run Memtest86+ on new memory, the first set I got was producing read errors after the 6th pass. This test takes some time, so let it run overnight for a couple of days.. its worth it.

Cons: Defects happen, I just ended up being one of the unlucky ones.. but newegg came and made it right.

5 out of 5 eggsG.SKILL Ares Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-1600C9D-16GAR

Pros: Low profile, attractive heat spreaders and easy to install. I upgraded my 8GB Ripjaws to the Ares 16GB. Install was great, and I was easily able to clock them up to the spec'd 1600 and timings in BIOS. I really have no complaints at all. I've used nothing but GSkill since I've started system building 6 years ago and I've never run into a problem.

Cons: None at all!

Other Thoughts: 16GB is still more than the average/moderate user and gamer will need at this point in time, but when Newegg has a sale and you can get an upgrade at a great price, why wouldn't you buy?!

5 out of 5 eggsSolid RAM

Pros: Product arrived quickly and easily installed into motherboard. Performance has been very good so far.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I picked these up on a shell shocker deal for 100 bucks. Couldn't beat that price for 16GB of RAM.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat RAM. Works on Asus P8H77-I Mini-ITX motherboard.

Pros: Got it on a Shell Shocker deal for $99. The memory timings are impressive for the capacity too.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I've been using G.Skill RAM for my systems for a few years now. Great value for the money. This particular set was to upgrade my mini-itx gaming system that had 8GB of G.Skill RipjawsX memory to 16GB. The speeds are almost identical between the two, except now I've got double the memory. In practice I can't tell the difference between the RipjawsX and the Ares modules (except when I've been memory constrained).

Unlike some other people I've never had a memory module fail on me. I *HAVE* had some initial issues getting the memory working occasionally, but in all cases it was either the memory needed to be re-seated or I forgot to reset the memory timings and had to clear my CMOS.

As it stands I've got G.Skill memory in five of my computers, two of which being servers, and they've been working flawlessly for over four years in one case.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic

Pros: Fantastic ram.
Excellent price.
Superb reliability.
Looks great.
Easy overclocks.
Low profile, stays cool under constant maximum load.

Cons: I ordered this item on the 14th of December, didn't arrive until the 30th.

Unacceptable shipping time. Not Newegg or G.Skill fault at all, it was Fed Ex. Shmoly jebus the shipping was an ordeal.

Other Thoughts: It is listed as 9-9-9-24, I was able to get the down to 8-8-8-22 with a little bit of tweaking, so you can push out a bit more power with these babies. Very powerful and fast stuff!

5 out of 5 eggsG.SKILL Ares Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-1600C9D-16GAR

Pros: XMP enabled and works as quad channel on ASUS P9X79 Deluxe. Yes I know it is dual channel kit but when I bought it, it was the cheapest config to get to 64GB. Tested memory for almost a day with memTest86+ and has no error. Low profile is exactly what I need to fit under Thermaltake Frio CPU cooler.

Cons: Price... Memory prices was depressed a year ago. Went up quite a bit this year.
I can only buy 5 kits. I bought 4 but should have bought 5. Could use it in my AMD system.

Other Thoughts: A lot of the negative reviews are over 1-2 years old. They are due to G Skill made a mistake with the memory timings programming. This has been resolved. Usually when things like this happens they pay extra attention. You can buy with confidence.

G Skill needs to make more low profile high speed high quality memory. I still air cool my CPU so the RipJaws line, although I own them too, is not always appealing to me. This RAM kit really hit a home run.
