1 out of 5 eggsQuestionable customer service

Pros: GSkill product reputation, excellent past product use. Lifetime warranty?

Cons: Owned this memory kit for approx 1 year before one of the modules just up and died. GSkill RMA process leaves much to be desired. RMA process confusing and apparently lengthy.

Other Thoughts: RMA'd to GSkill due to product failure under "lifetime warranty" and the fact that Newegg's return period had expired. Very confusing process returning through GSkill. Website suggests returning through the vendor for faster service??? Impossible since I have had it for a year. Was emailed RMA with specific directions on returning which did not coincide with the website directions! Followed the emailed directions and returned on 3/14/14 via UPS. Have not heard anything in return, do not know what the status is. Have never RMA'd a product without a notification that it was received or a status notification of the replacement. I am hoping that this process does not take months to complete as it is impossible to use my graphics programs being short this ram! Major disappointment in GSkill's return process. Would not expect such poor communication through customer service where your left holding your @- - waiting and wondering from this reputable? company. I truly like all of their products as I own many, however, in the end, it's not worth all of my down time as it cuts into my bottom line of decreased production.

Dear Customer

The G.Skill RMA service is quick and hassle free. Complete the RMA Request Form online, you will then receive an email with the RMA number and return instructions, send the memory to us and we will have a new kit out to you shortly. Once we receive the return, a replacement will be shipped within 1-2 business days, then the rest is shipping time back to you from California. In many cases, a new kit can be had within a week from us receiving the product. Your patience is greatly appreciated during this time. Rest assured if your tracking number states the package is delivered to us, you can expect new RAM very soon. Unfortunately, it is possible for RAM to go bad, but for this reason, we offer the fastest turn around time in the industry to get your computer back up to speed. For all further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsGreat price/peformance when I purchased

Pros: Passes Memtest86+ with flying colors at stock 1600mhz. It was a steal at $75 in 2012. Sadly it's double that now, but that seems to be universal.

Don't forget to use XMP in bios or the motherboard may default to 1333mhz.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsG.Skill Thrill

Pros: The profile of the RAM allows me to add 2 more 8g dual channels to match these without touching or interfering with my CPU air cooler.

The price is well worth it as well.

Cons: I don't have 32g of it yet.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I bought a 2 slot motherboard for my new gaming machine, so I figured I would go overboard with the RAM as I will not have any expansion slots.

As I bought this absurd quantity of RAM I do not have a good way of testing its usefulness as I have been unable to fill up any more than 7 gigs.

In 2018 it may be a different story!

Cons: It's RAM. It works.

It didn't come with a free Taco?

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear you decided to max out your system memory. This is a great decision so you don't need to worry about upgrades in the future. Even if you do not place enough load on the system to use near 16GB, the memory can be used/allocated elsewhere that is just as purposeful. If you don't use more than 7GB, you can allocate 8GB of RAM to a RAMdisk. This creates a small storage space that is faster than any SSD you can buy on the market. It is common to install games, programs, and executable files to boot from here as it will be extremely fast. Just like the human mind, it is always best to have more memory. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic ram

Pros: I can see the performance difference between this and my old BallistiX

pretty solid. I haven't ran the memtest on it yet but I've already got into gaming and it hasn't crashed yet.

Nice slick design

Cons: with a single stick I can OC it up to 1950mhz.

in dual channel I can't do it past the stock xmp profile. ( 1600 MHz ).
but why bother? Its already solid as it is on XMP Profile 1.

but I'm not gonna remove an egg because of that. I'm not a heavy oc'ing person.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat RAM!

Pros: Memory worked right away when I plugged it into my motherboard. Going to get 2 more 8 gig sticks in the near future to have 32 total.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Great system memory for the price and Gskill has not let me down for a few new computer builds yet. (knock on wood)

5 out of 5 eggsgreat speed for a great price

Pros: CAS 9 at a good price
Plug and play
G.SKILL reliability
low profile fins

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Even though DDR4 is around the corner, getting this setup with room for 2 more 8gb sticks (for most mobos) will still prove to be a good performer for years to come. This CAS 9 set at $127 on sale is a great deal
