3 out of 5 eggs2 of 4 were DOA

Pros: 8GBs, Fast, stylish black heat spreaders.

Cons: 2 of the 4 DIMMs were DOA. Any attempts to install them results in Memory Not Installed errors on my board. The other 2 DIMMs worked great though.

Other Thoughts: RMA for replace is in progress right now, so hopefully I can bump this review up to 4 or 5 once I have 4 working DIMMs.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

Glad to hear you like the black heat spreader design of the G.Skill Sniper series. With 8GB modules of DDR3-1866, you can bet that the computer it is installed in will be extremely fast. This memory can unleash the full processing power of any CPU of the market. It is strange two modules are defective, but don't worry, send the memory in for RMA exchange and a new kit should work flawlessly. Once you receive the new RAM, manually configure settings in BIOS/EFI, or enable the XMP/DOCP/EOCP memory profile, then everything will be ready to go at full speed. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic RAM great sale value

Pros: Good clock speed and high capacity! Picked it up for $109 on black Friday of 2012. Very stable and runs great in quad channel mode on x79 platforms.

Cons: None! Maybe if you buy it now for $300; nowhere near as valuable of a deal.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: Great. my motherboard read it well. I have an AM3+ sabortooth R2.0 motherboard with a FX-8350. It managed to read all 32gb memory.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: It is currently set on stock speed which is 1333. when I upgrade a few parts I will set it to it's true speed(1866).

1 out of 5 eggsRefuses to go beyond 1600

Pros: Works and the heat-sinks don't get in the way of anything.

Cons: Defaulted to 1333 MHz when I finished building my PC and booted it up. I figured that was odd so I pushed the RAM to it's rated speed of 1866 MHz and I was rewarded with a black screen. A severe disappointment considering I was planning on overclocking my Gskill ram to 2133 MHz. . The only speed this ram likes if 1600 MHz and below.

Needless to say I am very disappointed in this product, I expected more for dropping nearly $300 on ram. Never again will I purchase a Gskill product.

Other Thoughts: CPU: AMD FX 8350 4.0GHz
Mobo: MSI 970A-G46
RAM: Gskill Sniper 32Gb 1600 MHz
GPU: EVGA GTX 760 super-clocked
PSU: RAIDMAX RX-850AE 850W
OS: Windows 8

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer

We can surely assist you with this. Overclocking is not as simple as just setting the frequency. It takes a lot of testing and tweaking to find the proper settings. All DDR3 RAM will only default to DDR3-1333 or DDR3-1600. This allows the memory to work in any computer. Any higher value is up to the user to manually input, or enable the DOCP/EOCP performance profile. In addition to the basic memory settings, you will also need to adjust CPU settings. AMD CPUs can only support ONE DIMM PER CHANNEL of DDR3-1866, so with 4 modules, the CPU memory controller will be overloaded. It is necessary to boost the CPU-NB Voltage to allow the memory controller to stabilize the additional stress. Once you input the necessary values, the computer will be very fast and stable. This memory can be overclocked to DDR3-2133, but it depends on your overclocking ability. For more information or help, feel free to join the Official G.Skill Forum. You can find similar builds and many advanced users that can provide pointers. This is a high performance memory kit so you will be very pleased with the result.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsSuper Ram/Thanks G.Skill

Pros: Great Customer Service and Tech support from G. Skill.
started with 16gb,now a matching set of 32gb. Solid Memory Fast, easy to OverClock with Asus Crosshair v Formula-z FX8350..

Cons: Nothing bad to say about the Ram, for me and everybody else Do your homework 1st, The Con was me, Not doing any homework. A M D memory controller is a mother to Config, But with time I learned to set my Ran to run at top speed.

Other Thoughts: I have learned a-lot about this Ram, it runs super-fast with my AMD fx8350/ Crosshair v formula z setup.Clocked @ 2133, water cooled. This Ram is not for every one, so learn about the item before you take word of month. Other than that Thanks G.SKill, Best Customer Service .

5 out of 5 eggsIncredible RAM

Pros: Good looking, low voltage, stable, boots at advertised speed with no needed changes. Quad channel is a very nice upgrade! Overclocks moderately very easily.

Cons: miracle grow didn't increase it to 64GB

Other Thoughts: This is just all round good RAM. if I could use it I'd buy another set. Maybe I'll make more virtual machines just so I can justify buying more and maxing out my board lol. Paired with a 3930K it is truly impressive.

Cons: High timings that's about it.

5 out of 5 eggsDecent speed with a little overhead

Pros: These run at their rated speed with SB-e. They do default to 1.25v VCCSA (ASUS bios setting for IMC), which is too high for my liking. But they run 1866 10-10-10-31 1T with 1.10v VCCSA without a hitch. I was able to run these stable at 2133 11-11-11-31 2T with a VCCSA at 1.15v and vdimm at 1.60v.

Cons: Nothing really to complain about. I wish more OCers tried this kit. But there is little to no information on this kit anywhere.

Other Thoughts: I bought these on sale for $109. The price has almost doubled. It looks like the price of ram is going to continue to climb for a while.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Memory!

Pros: 32GB of awesomeness! Works flawless in my mobo (Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2.0) at 1866. I run a few VMs on my machine at a time, so I needed the extra RAM.

G.Skill has been my memory of choice for several years now.

Cons: Have to manually set speed, voltage, and timings in UEFI (BIOS) to achieve 1866, but that's a given with performance RAM. I did my research and knew this before buying the memory. Not really a reason to deduct any eggs.

I almost got mad when my mobo manual listed it supporter faster RAM, but I discovered the fastest my CPU (FX-8350) supports is 1866 and I felt a lot better.

Other Thoughts: MANUALLY SET YOUR SPEED, TIMINGS, AND VOLTAGE TO ACHIEVE 1866. If you don't your mobo will only auto-detect it at 1333 (possibly 1600 if you're lucky). It's just the nature of the beast.
