This kit only cost $80 when I bought it. The heat spreaders match my motherboard (asus p8z77-v). Cons: None. Other Thoughts: When I bought this kit, I had little knowledge and no experience with G.SKILL. I think my opinion consisted mostly of thinking that their name was silly. I picked this up on a whim as it didn't have any reviews at the time (9-26-12). I have been very happy with them, and will more than likely choose this brand again in the future. Cons: This ripjaw series will not post at its intended 1866mhz on my Asus Sabertooth990fx motherboard. It will only go to 1333 mhz. Nobody can tell my why either... I dont know what the deal is. I currently run at 1600mhz because i didn't play with any settings yet, but i love it. Cons: It's not 1866mhz out of the box. Other Thoughts: I don't mind running at 1600mhz for now. I had an 8GB RIPJAWS X (red in color) set in my PC for months and decided to move to 16GB and have had zero problems yet... Cons: None to speak of... Other Thoughts: AMD six-core system... DDR3-1866 CL9 is a high performance, overclocking memory kit, so manual configuration in BIOS/EFI is necessary. If the motherboard supports XMP, DOCP, EOCP, and you have a capable CPU, enable the enhanced performance profile and that can automatically configure settings for you. With the proper settings, the memory should be very fast and reliable in your computer. Since a module may be bad now, send the memory in for RMA exchange. Once you receive the new kit, adjust BIOS/EFI settings accordingly, and your system should perform even more beautifully than before.
