5 out of 5 eggsWorks as intended

Pros: - No issues with install
- Their blue. Works well with my blue setup
- works as intended

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: not really much to say about RAM. I installed it without any issues. System immediately recognized it. I went from 8 to 32GB which is overkill for my needs, but I figured, Why not.

3 out of 5 eggsGood Ram with (some) problem.

Pros: 8 Gb per stick

Cons: I only get 16GB after installing 4 sticks in ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z motherboard. Product description never warned me about this issue.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Hi Minh

We will be glad to help with this issue. Test one module at a time to see if each stick recognizes as 8GB. Then test pairs to ensure each dual channel set of slots can work properly. In some cases, modules not firmly inserted can cause this issue. It is also advised to reinstall CPU and check socket pins to make sure they are perfect. Any slight difference has been known to cause a missing memory capacity problem. Should you continue to have a problem, please contact us directly and we can help troubleshoot this issue. This is a great memory kit for that motherboard, so we will prove that to you once everything is installed and set up properly.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as advertised

Pros: - Units tested for 5 days at rated settings, no errors.
- Ram is cheap these days, and these are unthinkably big for some of us who have been in the game a while.

Cons: N/A

Other Thoughts: Replaced old 32G kit with this on AM3+ system, Gigabyte board. Using for some game serving VMs.

2 out of 5 eggsNot impressed

Pros: Price

Cons: out of the 4 sticks, PC is only recognizing 2, for a total of 16 gigs.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Hi David

We apologize for any inconvenience. It is strange only two modules are working properly. When experiencing potential RAM problems, test one module at a time to see if each stick is stable at the rated specifications. If indeed two modules work, and the other two do not, send them in for RMA exchange and a new kit should work much better. If all modules work fine individually, the problem may lie somewhere else. Should you need further assistance or have any questions, please feel free to contact us directly. The G.Skill support team will make sure your computer is upgraded and working flawlessly with G.Skill RAM installed.

Thank you

4 out of 5 eggsWorks on Asus Z87-Pro motherboard. ...but one issue

Pros: Allows me to run more images in Photoshop - that is, batch process can be much larger and images come up faster. Listed in manual as one of the RAM sets I can use at 32 GB configuration.

Cons: When I run MaxxMEM test the numbers (copy-read-write) all look great except "Memory-Latency: 58.6 ns" appears slow with respect to listed benchmarks I see posted. I have to say if I didn't run the test I would have assumed all was well... and maybe it is.

Other Thoughts: Yes I would recommend this product to others... good price for what I got. i7 4700k/Samsung SSD

Manufacturer Response:

Hi

You can enable XMP profile and check the timing by CPU-Z, make sure they're running with 9-10-9-28, then re-check the test to see how's the change.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: According to my nephew It worked and passed the window memory diagnostic. Now I have the maximum amount of 32 gigs memory that my motherboard can support.

Cons: The heat spreaders are not that strong and feel fragile. But I guess that normal today compared to those tough solid metal heat spreaders of the past with no air vents.

Other Thoughts: My nephew recommends that I eventually buy a fan for the ram before next summer. My AMDFX 9590 8 core always heats up the other nearby parts. So I'll most likely do that.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Hi Ambigadevi

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear the memory is working fast and reliable in your AMD system. With the FX 9590 CPU, make sure XMP/DOCP is enabled and that will allow the system to operate at maximum performance. 32GB installed will allow the operating system to be smooth under any memory intensive load. This is low voltage RAM so you do not need to worry about heat, the memory will remain cool even with full slots. Though it never hurts to be too cool, adding a memory cooler can help maintain an overall lower temperature within the case. The RipJaws X series is one of the most popular on NewEgg, you can rest assured the heat spreaders are not fragile. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

1 out of 5 eggsFailed MemTest

Pros: looks cool

Cons: Ram consistently failed MemTest with large amounts of errors. Contacted newegg and received replacement set, which also failed memtest. Put back in my old Kingston set and had no errors at all. I highly recommend anyone who tries this ram to run a memory test to ensure a non-defective pair.

Other Thoughts: Huge thanks to Newegg who not only sent me a free replacement set to test, but paid for return shipping on both defective units! Simple phonecall and completely taken care of, top notch customer service!!!

Manufacturer Response:

.
Hi Jonathan

We are sorry to hear you had such issues. This memory kit is above standard, so it is necessary to input settings for the RAM to be stable. If the motherboard supports XMP/DOCP, and the CPU natively supports DDR3-1866, enable the memory profile for the system to automatically detect settings. To determine whether it may be a problem with a stick of RAM, test one at a time to see if one performs differently. Should you need any help or have any questions, please feel free to contact us directly. We will make sure G.Skill RAM is working fast and stable in your computer.
