1 out of 5 eggsOne died, almost-heart attack

Pros: Great sticks, 32gigs of which I most likely wont use all of. But it's nice to have. Never had any problems until one decided to die.

Cons: It seems that one stick dies frequently for many people. Me included, and I really did not need that almost heart attack thinking my hard drives fried or something worse. I was playing a game I'd been playing for a few months before and suddenly my computer freezes.. I didn't think anything of it until I restarted it. Wouldn't boot, scared me to death..

After 3 days of pulling things and checking over everything I removed one RAM stick and it started right up, nothing was broken or corrupted software wise but now I don't trust the other one for anything..

Other Thoughts: I would not recommend this product, I would look for something that doesn't have any possibilities of breaking like this did... I'm pretty sure it's not good for the PC to have such things break but what do I know?

I would like it if I could somehow replace them, or get my money back, but I don't think the warranty is still valid. Which is sad because I would like to have my 32 gigs back.

Dear Customer

We will be glad to help you with this. Since it seems like a module may be bad, send it in for RMA exchange and a replacement should work better. All G.Skill memory kits are backed by a lifetime warranty, so we can take care of it right away. Once you receive the new kit, make sure to configure settings in BIOS/EFI. This memory kit is above standard, so without the proper configuration, errors can develop over time. Also, you are using two separate kits, so it is even more important. Technically, no CPU on the market can support full slots of DDR3-2133, but there are ways around this that we will be glad to share with you if your system can support it. Contact the G.Skill support team with hardware specifications and they will make sure your comptuer is fast and stable. Visit the G.Skil website for complete RMA procedure. For all further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to let us know.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA again?!?!

Pros: UGH. NONE.

Cons: DOA on one stick of RAM again! So basically, I had a review up before (not sure how to edit that one). But basically, one ram was DOA. Sent the kit back to Newegg, and they approved the RMA, and sent me another kit...painless enough. But guess what? One stick of RAM was DOA again!! WHAT! I'm sick and tired of this. Tested both sticks individually, and on two different computers, and the same stick was DOA. This is just my luck. I'm sorry, but it's gonna be a while for me to touch G.Skill products in the future again.

Other Thoughts: The G.skill rep that read my review said "It is strange a module was DOA; rest assured a replacement kit will work flawlessly. "

Yeah...no. Do they not tests these ram before they leave the factory? And as much as I liked to believe my replacement will work flawlessly, it didn't. I just want to get my money back. But I'm unhappy that I've been covering the shipping back to Newegg when it's absolutely not my fault that these ram don't work. This is such bull.

Going to contact Newegg, and see what they can do for me at this stage..

1 out of 5 eggsDOA, expected more from G.Skill

Pros: One stick of ram worked....

Cons: The other one was DOA. When I placed both ram DIMMS in my motherboard, my computer failed to boot. Trial and error time, took one stick out, and computer booted fine. Took that one out, and place the 2nd one in. The computer failed to boot. Bad ram in ram kit.

Other Thoughts: Started RMA w/ Newegg...lets see how this goes..

Makes me iffy about purchasing G.skill products in the future.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

We apologize for any inconvenience. It is strange a module was DOA; rest assured a replacement kit will work flawlessly. With a compatible motherboard and CPU, install the RAM, enable XMP, then the system should run at full speed. If you have any questions or issues, simply let us know and we will be glad to help. We will make sure your computer is running a maximum performance.

4 out of 5 eggsRipjaws

Pros: Great product. Looks awesome. PNP or plug n play. Drop in check BIOS and did have to make minor adjustment to get speed to rated speed. I am thinking motherboard issue. Simple adjustment and no problem

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Heavy and I wish was about $50 cheaper. Market demand and prices.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear you think the memory looks awesome and it is working well in your system. For any RAM better than DDR3-1600 CL11, it is necessary to manually configure settings, or enable the performance profile in BIOS/EFI. Without doing so, the memory will only default to standard values. This is not a problem with the motherboard; in fact, it is the same for any DDR3 motherboard on the market. Once you get everything set up properly, the RAM will perform extremely fast. For any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

5 out of 5 eggsCouldn't be happier

Pros: Everything.... only 1.5V needed. It works without issues with my overclock to 2133mhz with the timings they suggest. You need to make sure your board can handle that speed though. Not many mobo's can.

Cons: This is just me.... because I'm OCD. The plastic heatsink surrounding the ram wasn't the exact same height on both pieces.... annoyed me a little bit but not worth docking an egg.

Other Thoughts: Perfect ram for the price. When I purchased this ram it was on sale.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Fast RAM that works as advertised. Requires at least a third gen core processor to work at rated XMP speeds. I could not get it to run stable on my older Sandy Bridge 2700k. It runs perfect on my 4770 though.

Cons: Didn't run at 2133 on my older 2700k system. Not really a con as the manufacturer states Ivy Bridge and newer for rated operation.

Other Thoughts: These are great, I will be buying another set soon to upgrade my 4770 system to 32 Gb.

2 out of 5 eggsFailed to work

Pros: 1.5 V

Cons: Bought this for use in my new motherbooard (ASUS P8z77-v PRO) and the RAM light (red) just continually stays lit.

Used MEMCHECK as offered on the motherboard which is supposed to test the ram and force it to downclock to the minimum speed (1600 Mhz) to make it compatiable (even though the ram is suppoed to be nativelly supported . No luck there.

Tested the motherboard on a breadboard no issues anywhere but again the ram light stays lit (its supposed to go out almost right away after starting the computer).

The CPU memory controller supports DDR3 and 1.5 V memory. The CPU is an Intel 3770k, which supports the F3-2133C11D-16GZL ram.

Also the ram chosen is on the QVL from ASUS, and its also on the QVL list from G.Skill. Also on the packaging it is explictially states the memory is compatiable with the Z77.

Tried a BIOS update too...no luck there.

This is the THIRD set of DIMMS I tried to get working with my motherboard. One set of DIMMS was ADATA (2x 8gb). The other two sets of RAM were G.Skill (F3-2133C11D-16GZL and another one that i dont have the model/part number for).

I have been building computers from the ground up for 15 years...never had a problem like this.

I am frustrated and nothing else I can do about it because G.skill and ASUS do not offer support at weekends.

To be fair I had G.skill many times in the past, and I never, ever had memory problems.

Will have to RMA this memory.

Other Thoughts: I really wish G.Skill had weekend support. Not all of us work 9am to 5 pm M-F you know...

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

We can surely help with this problem. The motherboard is defective so you will need to send it in for RMA exchange. With a new replacement, the RAM should boot up the system and work flawlessly. Since the memory is above standard, make sure to enable XMP Profile in BIOS/EFI. Once you do so, it will allow the motherboard to automatically detect and configure all memory settings. You will be extremely pleased with the performance. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

1 out of 5 eggsFails to run at specs

Pros: .

Cons: .

Other Thoughts: XMP1 (2133@CL11) fails to boot even when boosting the voltage to 1.65
XMP2 (1866@CL9 or something) fails to boot at 1.65v

I then tried 1600@CL9 and even that won't reliably boot up.

My bios is up to date.

Specs:
i7-2600k
GIGABYTE GA-Z68XP-UD3P
GTX Titan
Corsair 750w

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer

We can surely assist you with this small issue. Since multiple settings are not working, test each module to see if one performs differently. If one works fine, and the other has stability issues, then you know it is a bad module causing problems. Send it in for RMA exchange and a replacement should work flawlessly. If both modules work the same, then the issue may lie elsewhere. DDR3-1600 9-9-9-24 1.50V are fail proof settings, so it is strange that did not work. Please contact the G.Skill technical support team with hardware specifications. They will make sure G.Skill RAM is running fast and stable in your computer. Once you are finished with them, the RAM will be at full speed DDR3-2133 CL11.
