5 out of 5 eggsSatisfied Customer

Pros: This memory is 100% compatible with my Asus Z97 Sabertooth MB. Plugged it in, set memory to the XMP profile, and it clocked itself to 1866 and stock voltage.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Its memory.... not very exciting. And that's how I like it, plug it in and not have to mess with it. Nice and trouble free.. Tons of good reviews on this brand, unlike the previous brand I was buying.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat memory, excellent timings

Pros: This is an excellent kit with tight timings, great for dual-channel configurations. Make sure to firmly seat both sticks and enable XMP to enjoy the performance. I've used this kit for nearly three years now, and i'll be replacing it with another G.Skill kit when I upgrade.

Cons: I made the mistake of trying to buy a second of these to add to my Z87 system, but mixing memory kits doesn't always result in getting the best performance. If you have any questions be sure to read the G.Skill FAQ or contact support before you buy to save yourself a mix-up!

Other Thoughts: The support team at G.Skill is extremely helpful, fast to reply, and professional. If you are having trouble with their products they will help you get it right, so you can buy with confidence.

5 out of 5 eggsZ Series Solved My Problem

Pros: Tight CAS timing; quality construction; very fast; excellently designed heat spreader fins; solved a nagging problem (see other thoughts below)

Cons: absolutely none

Other Thoughts: I kept getting a "display driver has stopped responding and has recovered" error message in Windows 7 since my first build in Win7 almost 5 years ago. None of the forum suggestions worked to resolve it. Turns out the 4 GB of DDR3 RAM I was running was starving the OS. 64-bit Win 7 uses a little over 3 GB just for normal operating. When I put in two 8 GB sticks of Z-series, the message went permanently away. No more starving = no more display driver freezes.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing PERIOD

Pros: Amazing ram it has a solid build quality. Love the fact that it is a sturdy feeling metal for heatsink/decoration. It has been over 6 months and has not failed me yet. Great solid 2400mhz RAM would recommended even more if you are using an APU.

Cons: None at all

4 out of 5 eggsGood RAM, not running to spec

Pros: This is a good kit and it's been stable and performed well in my system. I picked it up when it was at a massive price reduction and it was definitely money well spent.

Cons: The packaging and info for this kit makes it clear it's meant for Z77 chipsets, but it has a "Compatible with Z87" sticker right on the front. I'm using these on a 4770K system with an ASUS Sabertooth motherboard and the RAM is running at 1333mhz and not the advertised 1866. Changing the XMP profile results in failure to post (boot) and a crash. I've thought about tampering with the settings in the UEFI and upping voltage to get it up to the advertised 1866mhz, but I haven't had any performance bottlenecks develop yet so I haven't felt the need to put in the time.

Other Thoughts: I'm happy with my purchase, mostly because I got this kit at a steep discount. The quality of the RAM is good, but on my Z87 system i'm not getting the advertised speeds.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear you got a good price on the memory kit and it is working well in your system. If you have issues reaching the rated specifications, don't worry, contact us directly and we will be glad to help. Make sure you have the latest BIOS/EFI. Test one module at a time to see if they can load with XMP enabled. If so, they should be able to work at the rated specifications together. This is a great memory kit for the Z87 platform and i7-4770K CPU. Performance will be even better than the existing DDR3-1333, and we will make sure this happens.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsGreat RAM!

Pros: Very tight timings of 9-9-9-24. It's XMP profile ready so if your motherboard supports it just set it via BIOS.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This is not a con but I had an issue with one of the sticks on my ASRock Extreme6 Z97 motherboard. Memtest86+ 5.01 reports the same memory error location on test #7. So I swapped sticks around and error went away. Figured it was just a fluke. Then I temporarily removed the RAM sticks and swapped the CPU heat sink with something better and reinstalled the RAM it failed the test again. So rather wait for me not having a computer while RMA sends me the replacement I ordered an identical set with intentions to populate this computer to 32 gigs anyway. I moved those sticks to different slot on the motherboard and placed the new sticks in it's place. So far all 4 sticks are running without an issue after running MEMTEST86+ several passes. So I don't know exactly what happened or if it's just a fluke. I will run the memtest again in a couple of weeks. It's probably fine as it'll either work or not. G.Skill's lifetime warranty makes me feel better knowing they stand behind their products.

It's really hard to say if it's a problem with my motherboard or the stick. For now I'm satisfied that it's working just fine on my Linux Mint 17. Really fast system now paired with Intel i7 4970 processor.
