3 out of 5 eggsXMP fails memtest

Pros: Screaming fast ram once you adjust enough settings to make it behave.

Cons: Fails Memtest (many inversion errors) with stock 1.5 volt rating and profile 1 XMP loaded on GA-X79-UP4 MOBO running F7 EFI with Xeon E5-2680 V.2 cpu.
Should have been specified as 1.6-1.65 volt ram
Definitely NOT plug and play.

Other Thoughts: I gave it 3 eggs instead of 1 because it runs beautifully once you tweek Vtt up to around 1.1 volts, set cpu loadline calibration to "extreme" (meaning no Vdroop), and most importantly set Vdram up to around 1.63 volts.
Nothing new about having to overclock ram; just Very disappointing when ram this mature fails to operate within it's specifications without the hassle of overclocking it.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer

Glad to hear you were able to get the memory working properly. This memory kit should work flawlessly with XMP enabled. If you experience problems, check that all settings are adjusted properly. This memory kit is above standard, so it is definiltey not plug and play. DRAM Voltage and CPU VTT Voltage are the most important in getting the RAM to run at full speed. Some motherboards may not automatically increase these values, so it is always best to check and set them if they are not. Once the proper values of the RAM are in place, the system should be very fast and reliable. For any questions or help, feel free to contact the G.Skill technical support team.

Thank you

Quality and customer service are our top priorities.

5 out of 5 eggsG.Skill Ripjaws Z 32Gb-1866

Pros: For those that have an issue running AMD FX-8350 with 32Gb @ 1866 on ASUS Sabertooh 990FX, I installed G.SKILL Ripjaws Z Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) F3-1866C9Q-32GZH. The trick to this is your Bios settings. Use the D.O.C.P. profile P0 or P1. Then set you CPU/NB Frequency to 2800. The motherboard will reset the CPU ratio to 20.0 & CPU/NB voltage to 1.45v automatically. No need to make further adjustments. Windows experience index 7.8

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: No BSOD or freezes.
Fantastic memory. Will only use G.Skill in the future.

5 out of 5 eggsRippingJaws!

Pros: Very fast RAM, upgraded from 16gb to this 32gb for my new PC build, other components stayed pretty similar, just slight improvements. I see no black screens when alt tabbing between games and windows. Photo/Video editing is incredible with this ram.

Cons: Zero

Other Thoughts: ASUS Maximus VI Formula ROG Armor Z87 [Mobo]
i7-4770k quad @ 3.85 GHz [CPU]
G.Skill 1866 9-9-9-24 32GB [Ram]

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: +Works great and even more importantly it is stable as a rock at its advertised 1866.
+Lifetime warranty is great, could be better(see my only con).

Cons: From what I can tell if I did have a problem with the ram I would have to send them the bad ram before they send a replacement. I hate this, and would rather they put a hold on my credit card and send me the new ram immediately with a box to ship the bad ram back in. This is the way company's like WD work and it is far superior. But I am hoping to never have to warranty this ram as it works great.

Other Thoughts: I have never used Gskill memory before and the only reason I did was because of their supports active presence on this site and other peoples reviews. I believe company's that actively seek out to improve themselves and help their users deserve my money.

I used Gskills memory qualifier to find this ram for my Sabertooth x79 and I am glad I did. Asus did not list this in their memory qval(they are usually old and incomplete).

5 out of 5 eggsFast timings for the price

Pros: Got the memory cause of low timings and high speed. Little pricy, but it is the best timings for the speed and price. Bios on the Asus P9X79 Pro found this correctly.

Cons: Nothing

Other Thoughts: Recently went with G. Skill. I wasn't disappointed. This time as well. It is great RAM.

5 out of 5 eggsWonderful

Pros: Currently operating at advertised speed and ratings on an ASUS Maximus V Extreme, couldn't be happier.

Cons: Price: it's memory, nothing more.

Other Thoughts: hmm. other thoughts: To all software vendors, Windows 64-bit now outnumbers Windows 32-bit sales, so the question has changed from Why build 64-bit software to -- why not?
