5 out of 5 eggsWorking as intended

Pros: It delivered the speed it advertised
It has no flaws after testing
It looks rather nice

Cons: The set I received worked perfect right out of the box, so I have no cons to report.

Other Thoughts: the design of the heat sinks are in my opinion not great, and even if I did like them no one would notice them while they are installed. I bought them for the timings and they delivered so I am happy.

1 out of 5 eggsWill require RMA

Pros: It is memory, just like it is supposed to be

Cons: Memory is faulty.
BSOD.
Memtest86 errors.

Other Thoughts: I bought this for a complete new build. Started getting BSOD so I ran Memtest86 and I got errors.

Will change review once everything is sorted out.

Dear Customer

We will be glad to help with this issue. Please make sure to configure settings in BIOS. This memory kit is above standard so it is not automatically recognized in BIOS unless the XMP/DOCP profile is enabled. To determine whether it is a problem with the RAM, test one module at a time to see if one performs differently. If so, feel free to send them in for RMA exchange to see if a new kit works better. Visit the G.Skill website for complete RMA procedure. For any further questions or concerns, feel free to contact us directly.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome memory

Pros: This memory work great with my Sabertooth 990FX motherboard and my AMD FX-9590 4.7Ghz Processor. My computer runs great and smoothly. I like the slick look of the memory and the heatsinks installed. The computer already generates a lot of heat due to the processor (even though it is water cooled by Corsair H100i water cooler) and the Graphics card (XFX Double Dissipation R9-290x) and the memory holds up well due to this.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I wanted to build a sweet computer that would last me a while and wouldn't become obsolete in a small amount of time. This memory should last me a while. I do plan on maxing out my rig to 32GB using this memory.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat RAM, make sure to change your BIOS settings though

Pros: -Fast
-Well built
-Handles everything I've thrown at it
-Decently priced
-Good support from G.Skill

Cons: -First set went bad after 3 months

Other Thoughts: I bought this RAM in March of 2014. I had to manually change in the BIOS settings to have it run at 1866 but that was to be expected and wasn't an issue at all. In June or July of 2014 I started having random blue screens while web browsing so I tested the RAM and it immediately failed Memtest with a ton of errors. After some more testing, I determined one of the two sticks was bad so I contacted G.Skill support with what was going on and what I did to determine which stick was bad. They got back to me within a day or two with instructions for RMA. I sent it in and got a new set back within two weeks (all but a business day of that was shipping time). The new set I have had no issues with whatsoever. Due to the easy RMA process and how happy I've been with the RAM, I would definitely recommend this RAM.

4 out of 5 eggsMemory

Pros: Easy install and no major issues.

Cons: The memory is advertised at DDR3 1866, but it post 1600. Contacted Newegg Support because Bios would not automatically read 1866. They recommended that I leave it at 1600. Contacted Scan Disk and they recommend that I modify the settings in the BIOS to obtain the 1866 setting.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear the memory was easy to install and you did not encounter any issues. The DDR3 standard value for boot up is DDR3-1600 CL11, so that is the maximum speed with AUTO default settings. In order to reach DDR3-1866, you will need to manually input settings in BIOS/EFI or enable the XMP/DOCP profile. With a compatible motherboard, capable CPU, and the proper settings, this memory kit will run flawlessly at full speed. For all questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

5 out of 5 eggsNo complaints here

Pros: Does what it's supposed to, is fast enough, easy overclocking using xmp, nice aesthetics.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Honestly, I got these for the looks; the speed and $25 discount were some nice bonuses.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat memory

Pros: Well, not much to say. Bought 4 sticks of 8Gb each for new Z97 built and all worked at XMP frequency (1866MHz) after setting XMP profile in BIOS. Great memory.

Cons: None. Perhaps price

4 out of 5 eggssolid

Pros: price on sale with free shipping, was the cheapest out there .timings are good for 1886,not the fastest listed 1886 but for the price, you cant beat it. i chose this over the 2 other gskill with slightly better timings, and much higher price(that doesn't make a noticable diff ) this is my first gskill mem,and will go with this brand from now on,very good mem.both sticks were recoginized on first boot, and had their own profile listed in the bios (sabertooth 990fx r2) with the specified timings, doesn't get much easier than that.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: this is very good, solid memory. no probs so far running mem test, or prime 95.first minor timing change 9-10-9-26,no prob. then cut the refresh rate in 1/2 no prob. then upped to 2133, with timing 9-10-10-28 with refresh rate still cut in 1/2, no probs . fast,(with timing upped) and stable, real good mem for the sale price. would buy again

Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear you got a great price on this RAM and it is working very nicely in your new build. DDR3-1866 is definitely a good performance point for AMD CPUs and the ASUS Sabertooth 990FX R2 motherboards. This is a very popular combination with G.Skill RAM so you will find that it works flawlessly. Whether the system is built for gaming, overclocking, or daily use, this 16GB kit will be more than sufficient. For any further feedback or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.
