4 out of 5 eggsMemory

Pros: Easy install and no major issues.

Cons: The memory is advertised at DDR3 1866, but it post 1600. Contacted Newegg Support because Bios would not automatically read 1866. They recommended that I leave it at 1600. Contacted Scan Disk and they recommend that I modify the settings in the BIOS to obtain the 1866 setting.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear the memory was easy to install and you did not encounter any issues. The DDR3 standard value for boot up is DDR3-1600 CL11, so that is the maximum speed with AUTO default settings. In order to reach DDR3-1866, you will need to manually input settings in BIOS/EFI or enable the XMP/DOCP profile. With a compatible motherboard, capable CPU, and the proper settings, this memory kit will run flawlessly at full speed. For all questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

5 out of 5 eggsNo complaints here

Pros: Does what it's supposed to, is fast enough, easy overclocking using xmp, nice aesthetics.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Honestly, I got these for the looks; the speed and $25 discount were some nice bonuses.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat memory

Pros: Well, not much to say. Bought 4 sticks of 8Gb each for new Z97 built and all worked at XMP frequency (1866MHz) after setting XMP profile in BIOS. Great memory.

Cons: None. Perhaps price

4 out of 5 eggssolid

Pros: price on sale with free shipping, was the cheapest out there .timings are good for 1886,not the fastest listed 1886 but for the price, you cant beat it. i chose this over the 2 other gskill with slightly better timings, and much higher price(that doesn't make a noticable diff ) this is my first gskill mem,and will go with this brand from now on,very good mem.both sticks were recoginized on first boot, and had their own profile listed in the bios (sabertooth 990fx r2) with the specified timings, doesn't get much easier than that.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: this is very good, solid memory. no probs so far running mem test, or prime 95.first minor timing change 9-10-9-26,no prob. then cut the refresh rate in 1/2 no prob. then upped to 2133, with timing 9-10-10-28 with refresh rate still cut in 1/2, no probs . fast,(with timing upped) and stable, real good mem for the sale price. would buy again

Cons: Cannot hit a target at 1000 yards

Other Thoughts: I bought this because it was the higher capacity version of the highest rated ram on all of new egg. Was not disappointed in the slightest

5 out of 5 eggsG.Skill Sniper 1866

Pros: I got 1 set because I wasn’t sure if I would need 16 or 32GB. It’s installed on a computer running an AMD FX-8350 with an Asus M5A99FX Pro R2.0 board. I am running the Adobe 2014 suit and the highest usage I’ve seen is just under 9GB while rendering out video files from Encoder or Premier. I did have some memory errors initially but now that all of the drivers are updated there isn’t a problem.

Cons: None

Dear Customer

Glad to hear the memory works fast in your system. This memory kit is above standard, so make sure to configure settings in BIOS/EFI. Without doing so, it is possible for the RAM to corrupt over time. If you need assistance with this, contact the G.Skill technical support team directly and they will be glad to help. For RMA, if you experience a problem with the form, email the RMA dept. directly and they can assist you. G.Skill support can also be reached via telephone and forum, so there are many ways to get in contact with us if one avenue is not working for you.

1 out of 5 eggsGSkill Sniper RAM

Pros: None

Cons: Does not work with the AS Rock Fatalty Z97X Killer MB

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

We are sorry to hear you had such issues. The RAM is compatible with that motherboard. Please test one module at a time in the initial slot to see if the system can boot. If one module boots and the other does not, it is a defective stick of RAM. If neither modules boots up, it may be a defective motherboard. Double check installation and if you continue to have a problem, replace the necessary parts and that should solve the issue. For any further questions or concerns, don't hesitate to contact the G.Skill support team directly. We are here to help and make sure your computer is fast and stable with our products.

3 out of 5 eggs1 works 1 doesn't

Pros: The one that works is good

Cons: Second Stick won't POST and I have to return both for RMA just to hopefully get 2 that work this is silly lookout for paired items like this now I will have like a week or two of no system which is silly.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer

We can take care of this issue right away. For high performance memory modules like DDR3-1866, it is imperative to keep the RAM as a matched pair. In some cases, a mis-matched pair may not perform as well. The G.Skill RMA process is quick and hassle free, so rest assured your computer will be up to full speed in no time. Visit the G.Skill website for complete RMA procedure. With a new kit, configure the settings in BIOS, or enable XMP/DOCP profile, and your system should run fast and stable. If you have any issues or questions, please feel free to contact us directly. We will make sure G.Skill RAM is working flawlessly in your computer.
