Pros: Worked right away, lookers pretty cool and I couldn't be happier with my new beastly gaming computer

Cons: Nothing, memorty rated at a solid 7.9 in my systems ratings

Other Thoughts: I want to add 4 more chips, but can't justify it, because I could put my entire MMO download on it and still have enough memory left to play the game.

Pros: High capacity, high frequency, low latency. Exactly what you want in memory.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: My motherboard (ASUS P8H77-M Pro) did not auto-detect the optimal frequency or CAS latencies for this RAM (using latest BIOS, version 1005). I had to configure it to 1600 MHz, 7-8-8-24 manually. It defaulted to 1333 MHz, 9-9-9-24.

memtest86+ completed the first pass in about 2 hours, no errors.

I haven't tried overclocking it. And I don't think I'll bother.

Pros: CL7 ram is as fast as it gets. G.skill is an excellent Co.
Newegg was great in getting me another set next day with paid return.

Cons: Appears to be a little picky which mainboard it will run at full speed. I know someone else had this problem and I know how to set the speeds in the bios.

Other Thoughts: This is a follow up from the below review. First of all G.skill does make great ram at a fair price. I could not get this set to run at CL7 at 1600. Just would not work in a Gigabyte P67A B3-D3. Put into an ASrock 970 extreme 3 and was able to get it at CL7 and at 1600. NEWEGG was great to deal with and no one should hesitate about doing business with either company. I did talk to someone at G.skill and although they were not the friendliest he did answer my questions for the most part. I did take one egg off for that and the trouble getting it to work. My feeling is this ram simply may not run on all the mainboards you think it should.

Other Thoughts: Disappointed that the package was opened as received, and one of the sticks is defective. (Fails memtest or won't even boot system). Hopefully I can get a set that will work.

Pros: Past two orders had problems but I decided to try one last time. So far so good! Initial 18+ hours (9 passes) of memtest86+ 4.20 without a hitch. Lets see how it holds up!

Cons: Shouldn't take 3 tries to get a good set...

Pros: The other comment on this memory does not understand how to use the memory. I bought this kit from another vendor and am using newegg to buy a new kit. This memory is indeed 1600. You have to enable XMS in your bios or use manual settings for the memory. I would recommend using XMS. For 32gb with a cas of 7, this is amazing memory at a great price.

Cons: There are no cons that I have noticed. I have ran this memory for 3 weeks with no issues.

Pros: It works at specified speed.

Cons: This is not DDR3 1600 this is DDR3 1333 and will only run at specified speed if over clocked, 800Mhz 7-8-8-24 is about as far as this will clock.
If you want to overclock don't buy this one.
I'm going to see if I can return it.

Other Thoughts: They should advertise what it is not what you can clock it to....... that is not right!

We can clarify your confusion. Memory is unlike any other hardware. It is standardized so any basic DDR3 computer can use it, but to achieve performance specifications, capable hardware and overclocking experience is necessary. This is a high performance memory kit so DDR3 motherboards can not automatically recognize the rated values. It is necessary to manually input the DRAM frequency, timings, and Voltage. If your motherboard supports XMP/DOCP/EOCP, you can use that to detect settings from the memory. The G.Skill Trident X series is the best memory available on the market.
