4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: easy to install
simple

Cons: no 1600 speeds max 600

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear the memory was easy to install and works well in your system. If the CPU and motherboard supports DDR3-1600, the RAM should automatically detect and run at full speed. If not, make sure you have the latest BIOS. Also, depending on what program you use to check frequency, it may display real bus frequency. DDR3-1600 is 800MHz, so if you see 800MHz, that is correct. It is not 1600MHz, it is DDR3-1600. Should you have any further questions, or would like more clarification, please feel free to contact us directly.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsThis RAM is probably better than it's officially rated

Pros: This RAM seems to be better than it's rated, as my motherboard automatically sets this to run at CAS 9 instead of CAS 11 timing. Plus this is one of the most affordable 4GB RAM sticks out there. With G.Skill you know you're getting high quality RAM with a lifetime warranty. These guys have been my go-to company for RAM for years now.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: RAM speed is pretty meaningless for gaming on modern Intel CPUs with a discrete GPU, so I buy the cheapest DDR3 from a brand I trust a lot. Which is why I picked this. However, if you game on an integrated GPU the RAM speed is very important to your performance since you don't have separate high speed GDDR5 RAM for your framebuffer like with a graphics card. So if you're running an AMD APU or using one of Intel's HD Graphics iGPUs then you really need higher speed memory to get the most out of it. The difference is pretty significant with integrated graphics, and DDR3-2100 seems to be the sweet spot in that case based on benchmarks I have seen.

Pros: It works, and is priced aggressively.

Cons: none

Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear you got the memory at a good price and it is working well in your system. This is a high speed plug and play memory kit that is perfect for any new build. For anyone that is not familiar with tweaking BIOS or don't want to deal with it at all, this is the memory kit to get to maximize performance. No need to worry about if the specifications are compatible, this RAM is universally compatible with most of the latest DDR3 motherboards. Should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

Pros: Fast & well made

Cons: Maybe more expensive than I thought, but you do get what you pay for also.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Choice For Budget Friendly Builds

Pros: I've bought quite a few of these modules (10+) from several vendors and never had one DOA. They are great for budget builds.

Not that it adds performance, or is ever seen by the end user, but I do like that they are black vs. some other boring shade of green.

Cons: No cons.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Product!

Pros: Very solid RAM I purchased 8 gigs in January and just purchased a third stick which i'm installing with my new 770.

Haven't had a single issue other than a somewhat aggravating installation due to my motherboard.

The chips run pretty cool in my mid tower so no problems with thermal output.

Cons: N/A

Other Thoughts: Rubber shroud would make it look cooler
