4 out of 5 eggsRAM was good.

Pros: Follow up to my previous comment.

Cons: Other then the lack of instructions on how to set it up for my AMD motherboard none.

Other Thoughts: I did not own this RAM for long. As stated in my previous comment I had been getting BSOD's, but I fixed that problem. In my UEFI the RAM was not automatically set to use it's XMP profiles. Somewhere along the line of BSOD's net framework 4.5 had gotten damaged after repairing it my sound started working, and the BSOD's have stopped. I just had to insert my windows operating system install disk, and hit upgrade keeping all my program data. After that the RAM worked great. No problems G.Skill

Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear you were able to get the memory working properly at full speed. As with any RAM above standard, it is necessary to manually configure settings in BIOS, or enable the XMP/DOCP Profile. Without doing so, the system may be unstable. In addition, the maximum frequency recognized would be DDR3-1333 CL9 or DDR3-1600 CL11. Now that the system is set up correctly, the computer should be very fast and stable. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to let us know.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsAttractive and high performance

Pros: I've own around 6 sets of ram throughout my life and I have to say that these are the most attractive out of all of them. The color is fantastic and the low profile makes it easy to put into any build. The xmp profile worked out of the box so I was happy with that. So they are attractive and works, how can I knock any eggs off for that?

Cons: None at the moment, will edit it if I do run into problems.

3 out of 5 eggsCould, or could not be good RAM.

Pros: Looks nice.
Low profile.
Decent sepcs.
Decent price.

Cons: A ton of BSOD's while first using this RAM. Some simple instructions on how to set it up in UEFI would've been nice. I set it to use XMP profile, and most of my BSOD's seemed to have gone away. It's to bad by the time I found out it was the RAM I had already bought two processors, two harddrives, rebuilt my pc like three times, and in the end my pc is still not working correctly so I cannot say if the RAM is working right, or not sorry.

Other Thoughts: I have now spent enough $ to build two pc's, and will be in debt to newegg for the next 7 months still without a working pc sitting in front of me right now not to happy about it. My problems started with this RAM, and seem to have spread to the other components now. As I'm pretty much to broke to even afford to pay return shipping for any of the parts. Some of which I've probably had for past their RMA times. Again just not to happy about it.

My computer current sits here with no sound except in UEFI, unable to update, still getting an occational BSOD, and the graphics the card keeps conking out. I wish the hell newegg would've let me get a preffered account sooner could've avoided some of this. Oh well still pick newegg over my other options, and still appreciate it newegg.

1 out of 5 eggsdefectvie

Pros: One is just like any other 8gb 2133 ram, nothing seems "superior" than my old 8gbx2 team valcune rams.

Cons: WIth no sign of physical damage, one ram couldn't pass booting scan. I tested 2 rams individually with same ram slot/bio setting. And I have to pay 10 bucks for replace or return. great... These rams are cheap compare to other rams that has the same size, but If I have to pay 10 bucks to return, I rather keep the 30 bucks stick and waste 20 bucks to give you a 1 star for quality problem

Other Thoughts: No more Gskill for me.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer

We are sorry to hear you are not satisfied with your Ares series RAM. With a supported motherboard and capable CPU, make sure to enable XMP/DOCP or manually configure settings in BIOS to run at full speed. If you believe there is a problem with a module, test one at a time to see if one performs differently. If so, feel free to send them in for RMA exchange and a replacement should work much better. Return shipping for this RAM should be less than $5 for USPS First Class w/ Tracking. We can have a new kit back to you within a week. Visit the G.Skill website for complete RMA procedure. For any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to let us know.

5 out of 5 eggsGood price to performance ratio

Pros: Super easy to set up with XMP and I haven't had any issues thus far.

Cons: Timings are a bit high for my taste, but I couldn't say no at the price point.

Other Thoughts: Used with I5 4690k and MSI Z97S SLI Plus.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Had no problem using XMP profiles to run at 2133mhz. Currently, its running at 2187mhz with my BCLK overclocked to 102.5mhz.

It ran Prime95 for over 13hours stable. Made no adjustment to voltage settings.

Cons: No real complaints at this time.

5 out of 5 eggsFast and Easy

Pros: Easy to install. No issues with the speed. Booted right up at 2133 (not 1600 as some report) on ASUS M5A97 R2.0 with AMD-FX 8320 Vishera. I don't believe this was listed as compatible with the motherboard at the time of purchase, but I did note another set of GSkill with the same timings that was so I took a lucky gamble.

I bought these rather than the Ripjaws or Snipers because they matched the color theme of my build and were low profile enough that the H80i tubes wouldn't touch them. Turns out that was a good choice because the tubes are pretty close to them even being low profile. But they are not touching!

This RAM doesn't appear to get over hot at all. It runs stable at the specified speed, at least in my board.

Zero complaints.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: ASUS M5A97 R2.0 with AMD-FX 8320 Vishera, 8GB GSkill Ares 2133, Corsair H80i, 128GB SanDisk SSD, 240 GB Seagate Barracuda, and MSI 9800 GTX (upgraded today and waiting for MSI GTX 760 4GB!) Powered by Antec HCG-750M (with BitFenix Alchemy extension cables) in Thermaltake Chaser A31.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Bought these specifically to clear my Cryorig R1 Ultimate CPU cooler. As with all of my prior G.Skill memory products, these model work as advertised.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Was seriously considering stepping up to 16GB this time, but just couldn't justify the added $80 expense.
