5 out of 5 eggsGreat Memory

Pros: Great memory, change a setting in the bios and you get DDR 2400 as advertised every time!
Lower profile than the Ripjaws series
Love the Blue color
Good looking Memory
I have used Gskill Ares and Ripjaws memory in many system builds over the past several years, I have never had a problem with any of them!
Reliability

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: If using a Hyper 212 evo or similar cpu cooler, this memory just barely fits under the fan in most motherboards, it does touch but does fit, on the hyper 212 evo you can just move the fan up to gain extra clearance though.

1 out of 5 eggspaid for 2400 got 1600

Pros: It's blue? a10-7850

Cons: is stable at 2133 unstable at 2400

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

We will be glad to help with this issue. All high performance DDR3 memory kits can boot up to a maximum value of DDR3-1600 CL11 1.50V. This allows the RAM to be compatible in most DDR3 computers. RAM is unlike any other hardware, it does NOT come pre-overclocked from factory. Any frequency above DDR3-1600 is configured by the user. The RAM is only stable at DDR3-2133 because the A10 CPU only supports up to DDR3-2133. In order to reach DDR3-2400, you will need to boost the CPU-NB Voltage to give the memory controller the proper boost it needs to stabilize a frequency higher than it is natively capable of (ie. overclocking). Once you input the proper settings for the RAM, it will work flawlessly. If you would like assistance with this or have any questions, please feel free to contact us directly. The G.Skill support team is readily available to assist you and make sure your computer runs fast and reliable at full speed.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsGood and very good!

Pros: Worked right away @ 2400 mhz.
A must for Kaveri.
I built an itx rig for aprox. $260.00. After seeing kaveri performance with this incredible ram, I am very happy. Hardware is changing so rapidly, you can spend a fortune trying to keep your build current. This build handles any average computing needs flawless. Plays games beautifully on good/high settings(with no video card!). Depending on what game you play, you can adjust the settings to get better fps. Most know this. This ram kit @ $62.99 is a blessing.....

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I like to build small pc's with big performance at a fair price, and this rig is by far my favorite. The ram is standard size so its fits anywhere.

My Build:
Fm2a88xn-wifi - 54.99
a10-7850k - 119.99
HDD-5400rpm - reused
Gskill 2400 ddr3 8gb - 62.99
300 w 12v psu - 25.00
Win 8.1

5 out of 5 eggsGSKILL 2400mhz DDR3 Ram

Pros: I have used this ram for a friends pc build. The motherboard it was installed on auto-detected at 1333mhz as I think this is the generic default setting of the motherboard.... the board I bought only had settings in the bios to take this ram up to 2133mhz. I set it manually to 2133mhz without touching any voltage setting or anything else and this ram run perfect at 2133mhz.

Cons: None. I am happy.

Other Thoughts: Gskill seems to make good quality components.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Easy XMP overclocking, no problems, not completely crazy heat spreader insanity for good RAM.

Cons: I got nothing.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear the memory XMP was easy to set up without any problems. With the proper configuration in BIOS/EFI, this memory kit will perform extremely well. DDR3-2400 is an extreme frequency that can fully unleash the performance of any CPU on the market. Along with a basic CPU overclock, you can notice a siginificant improvement. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

5 out of 5 eggsG.SKILL Ares Series 8GB

Pros: Everything from looks to performance have been all good. I haven't really benchmark my ram, which I don't know if you should or not but it runs 2400, so I'm happy with it.

Cons: It doesnt match my motherboard which sucks cus i have a red one and these are blue, but its the only thing i could scrap together on black friday lol.

Other Thoughts: You have to enable xmp profile for the ram sticks to run at 2400 in the bios, its actually pretty simple, just check out the bios and get familiar with stuff in it and you'll eventually find it.

1 out of 5 eggsG SKILL insults users

Pros: Not sure after the response from G Skill making the assumption I don't know how to install or configure the memory they sell. I know what board defaults are and the fact you are just trying to make it seem like I don't know how to install or properly setup a machine with your memory is insulting. Your memory does not perform as advertised.

Cons: Not sure after the response from G Skill making the assumption I don't know how to install or configure the memory they sell.

I know what board defaults are and the fact you are just trying to make it seem like I don't know how to install or properly setup a machine with your memory is insulting. Your memory does not perform as advertised. 4 different motherboard models and only your memory will not run at advertised speed.

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsPlug and Play

Pros: Clocked down to 1600, although with a quick option swap in the bios had no problems running at 2400. Picked up at a 65$ price point, and haven't had any issues.

On a related note, The pictures don't do this RAM justice as far as appearance goes. With the heat dissipation shell hosting a highly metallic blue, it looks great on my primarily blue and black Asus P8Z77-LX.

Would recommend to anyone looking for relatively low profile higher performance RAM.

Cons: Absolutely none.

5 out of 5 eggsSimple

Pros: Is an incredible memory for a low profile computers, can put in any computer for a larger experience.

Cons: the latence is higher in 2133, so your computer can´t go to 2400 having a another option of this some series.
