Pros: Easy XMP overclocking, no problems, not completely crazy heat spreader insanity for good RAM.

Cons: I got nothing.

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsG.SKILL Ares Series 8GB

Pros: Everything from looks to performance have been all good. I haven't really benchmark my ram, which I don't know if you should or not but it runs 2400, so I'm happy with it.

Cons: It doesnt match my motherboard which sucks cus i have a red one and these are blue, but its the only thing i could scrap together on black friday lol.

Other Thoughts: You have to enable xmp profile for the ram sticks to run at 2400 in the bios, its actually pretty simple, just check out the bios and get familiar with stuff in it and you'll eventually find it.

1 out of 5 eggsG SKILL insults users

Pros: Not sure after the response from G Skill making the assumption I don't know how to install or configure the memory they sell. I know what board defaults are and the fact you are just trying to make it seem like I don't know how to install or properly setup a machine with your memory is insulting. Your memory does not perform as advertised.

Your memory does not perform as advertised. 4 different motherboard models and only your memory will not run at advertised speed.

5 out of 5 eggsPlug and Play

Pros: Clocked down to 1600, although with a quick option swap in the bios had no problems running at 2400. Picked up at a 65$ price point, and haven't had any issues.

On a related note, The pictures don't do this RAM justice as far as appearance goes. With the heat dissipation shell hosting a highly metallic blue, it looks great on my primarily blue and black Asus P8Z77-LX.

Would recommend to anyone looking for relatively low profile higher performance RAM.

Cons: Absolutely none.

5 out of 5 eggsSimple

Pros: Is an incredible memory for a low profile computers, can put in any computer for a larger experience.

Cons: the latence is higher in 2133, so your computer can´t go to 2400 having a another option of this some series.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome ram for an awesome price

Pros: Runs nice and fast and at a price point so low I can't justify not buying this.

Cons: Non at all. Bought this for my new Haswell build and it has given me no problems.

2 out of 5 eggsMemory doesn't run at stated speed

Pros: Price seems average compared to other brands

Cons: I have bought 1866 memory and it will only run at 1600 so this time I bought 2400 and it will only boot when set to 1866. I tried different models of motherboards (both ASUS) it doesn't even make it thru post at 2400 or 2133 so I am very disapointed I have to pay for 2400 to get 1866 memory modules.

Other Thoughts: When using a motherboard that supports 2400 memory and it will still only run at 1866 and the spd on the memory tells the motherboard it is 1600 memory there is a problem.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

We can help clarify some issues you have and solve them. The maximum value any motherboard can default to is DDR3-1600 CL11 1.50V (the SPD value you read). Any memory above this requires manual settings, or enabling of the XMP/DOCP/EOCP profile to run at full speed. Depending on CPU used, additional tweaks may be necessary to fully stabilize the CPU for the high DRAM Frequency. Should you need assistance with this, please contact the G.Skill support team directly. They will make sure the RAM is running fast and stable in your computer. The memory is tested at the rated specifications from factory so they will have no problem with DDR3-2400 CL11.

4 out of 5 eggsNot Z87x-D3H XMP Ready

Pros: Set manually to standard 2400 MHz timings/voltage, this kit screams at 2400 MHz alongside my 4670k @ 4.2 GHz on my Gigabyte Z87X-D3H mobo.

Cons: No matter my BIOS settings, this kit is not XMP plug-n-play with my board. Repeat, NOT XMP plug-n-play on a Gigabyte Z87X-D3H mobo. Not at 2400 MHz.

I had to disable XMP profiles, then set everything manually for them to even post much less boot at 2400 MHz speeds. But, they are working fine. I'd buy them again.

Other Thoughts: New Rig:
cpu: Intel 4670k
cooler: Megahalems + 2x Yate Loon High Speeds
mobo: Gigabyte Z87x-D3H
RAM: 8 GB G-Skill ARES 2400MHz
gpu: Gigabyte GTX 760
PhysX gpu: Gigabyte GTX 460
psu: Rosewill CAPSTONE 650
HDDs: 1x WD Velociraptor
1x WD Caviar Black

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear the memory is working well in your system. The XMP profile for this memory kit is tested compatible on the Gigabyte Z87X-D3H motherboard, so it is strange you are having problems. This is a high performance memory kit that will produce great results with your new Haswell system. With a slight CPU OC, you will have one of the fastest computers one can build. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

5 out of 5 eggsfast. cheap for 2400mhz

Pros: Although they are c10, at 2400mhz that are still very fast. They have nice blue heats sinks and haven't given me a lick of trouble.

Cons: The blue color does not match my brown mobo.
