5 out of 5 eggsSeems to Run

Pros: It seems stable at 2400. My MOBO is a MSI Z97 Gaming 5. I had to set the timing to 2400 in the bios. Of note, the auto DRAM timing set this at 9-9-9-24, which is amazing. The advertised timing was 11-13-13-31. Maybe I will have to manually set these, if I start getting BSOD.

Cons: Makes me a bit nervous when it auto assigns timing faster than advertised.

5 out of 5 eggsReliable memory at a great price

Pros: XMP profile loaded up without issues with a Sabertooth 990fx R2 and an FX-9370 overclocked to 4.9ghz. System has been rock solid after a few weeks of continuous use. If you're thinking about going with G.Skill RAM, just do it.

Cons: Asrock fx990 Extreme9 did not like the memory even at 1333, 1600 etc... The board did love my G.Skill 1866 cas8 8gb kits however, go figure.

Other Thoughts: After always using Patriot and Corsair for RAM, I gave G.Skill memory a try and so far no regrets.

Not docking an egg due to my Asrock motherboard not liking the RAM, it's always a risk when running ram outside of the standard DDR 3 specs.

Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear you like the heat spreader design of the RipJaws X series. Especially with the sleek blue color, it makes for one of the best DRAM appearances on the market. DDR3-2400 has the capability to unleash the full processing power of any CPU on the market. So whether you have an Intel i7-4790K or AMD FX-9590, you can expect the system to run without lag or delays under any circumstance. 16GB will keep the operating system nice and smooth no matter how many programs and tasks you have open. As far as performance, this is surely a superior memory kit. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

Thank you

4 out of 5 eggsGood but XMP profile didnt load correctly

Pros: Cheapest fastest ram out there. Reliable, G-SKILL makes great ram. I have it running at advertised speeds (see below) without an issues. My last G-SKILL ram lasted 6 years with only one stick just now having slight issues.

Cons: XMP profile did not load correctly. My Asus board auto loaded the profile and even after I manually loaded the profile it still ran at 1600.

Other Thoughts: However I was able to get the 2400 speeds by forcing the correct voltage (1.65v) and forcing the 2400 in the bios. Once those two things were forced then the ram ran fine. Its actually running 9-9-9-24 so thats even better!

Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear you got the RAM at a great price and it is working to specification. With a compatible motherboard and capable CPU, you should have no problem reaching DDR3-2400. Some combinations may need additional tweaks for the system to be stable, but once the RAM is configured properly, the computer should be very fast and stable. This is a high speed, high capacity memory kit that is perfect for any type of build. Even with Intel Extreme or AMD Black Edition CPUs, this RAM can fully unleash the performance of the processor. Should you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

2 out of 5 eggsNot as advertised. Now to check their Service

Pros: Price was right, which is what attracted me.

Cons: Memory that is advertised as 2400 should run at 2400. I hadn't even thought to test, and now, three weeks after I bought the memory and two weeks after I installed, I happened to run diagnostics, and see that it is running at 1333. I was shocked so I ran another test and it showed that it is at 1333 also. Bummer.

Other Thoughts: I shouldn't have trusted the label, and run diagnostics earlier.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer

We will be glad to assist you with this problem. RAM is unlike any other hardware in your computer. It doesn't come pre-overclocked from factory, it doesn't automatically run at full speed. Though if you have a compatible motherboard and capable CPU, enable the XMP/DOCP profile and that will allow the motherboard to automatically detect and configure memory settings to run at full speed. Otherwise, manual configuration is necessary. Contact the G.Skill support team with hardware specifications and they will be glad to assist you. Once you are fone with them, your new build will be running at full speed.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsVery Satisfied

Pros: Lower profile, I have a Cooler Master after market CPU fan and it's big and it sits right close to the memory slots, these fit just underneath it, any taller and they wouldn't fit - Fast, BIOS found them quick and installed as expected, bumped the voltage a little and overclocked them 200Mhz without issue on first attempt.

Cons: No cons, I'm very satisfied with the memory

Other Thoughts: My MB Asrock Z97 Extreme6 will handle up to 32Gigs of memory, personally I've never seen my memory usage go over 6-7Gigs at any time and I do lots of heavy gaming and video processing, so I'm good with the 16Gig package.
