5 out of 5 eggsBEST

Pros: They work for me last year they were cheaper but still I can remember 150$ for 2 Gig of 400 ram. So for the price this still cheap when I look back. I have Never had a bad stick of G. Skill from 800 to 1000 too 1066 I still use them on my old AMD. When they ruled the World not any more.

Cons: None except they were much cheaper last year I bought 400$ of G. Skill from 1600-to 2133. Today they would be 700$.

Other Thoughts: If you have a Good M.B. 2133 is a good deal it will default to 1600 or set to 1866 or set to 2133 you get 3 types of ram for your money. Next year DDR4 Ram will be here and the New X99 DDR 4 M.B. and the new 5th Gen. Intel 6-8 Cores that run DDR4 will be here. This is a Whole New System all NEW from the Ground UP. It will start at 2133 DDR 4 and up to 3000 Ram.

4 out of 5 eggsGood but pricey

Pros: Works great in Gigabyte Z87 board. Board detects at 1600 but no problem with manually setting to proper speed.

Cons: I picked up this 8 GB kit for $53 in Dec. 2013. I haven't seen it for less than $70 since.

Other Thoughts: Would really like to pick up another 8 GB but the price needs to come back down closer to what I paid for the first 8 GB.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear the memory kit is working well in your Z87 motherboard. The JEDEC DDR3 standard is DDR3-1600, so all DDR3 motherboards can only default to a maximum value of DDR3-1600. For higher frequencies, or timings lower than standard, it is necessary to enable XMP/DOCP, or manually configure settings in BIOS/EFI. Once that is done, the memory can run at the full speed it was designed for. With regards to pricing, unfortunately that is not something we control. Around the time of your purchase, DDR3 was at an unusual low, so you were lucky to get it at such a great price. Pricing is now back to normal; hopefully it can go down soon to become more affordable. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Ram

Pros: Fast; 2133 + XMP Profiles.

Has been stable since i've used it. (NOV 2013)

Looks agrresive and goes will with a red build mobo like msi g65 for example.

Cons: My jaws hurt!

Other Thoughts: Some reviews here state that frequencies aren't right, etc. Points to follow: consult mobo compatibility and cpu compatibility chart. Enabled XMP profiles and i'm getting timimgs and speed as advertised.

4 out of 5 eggsgood

Pros: the memory is good ,however my computer just identified the frequence to 1600,not 2133 ,i dont know why

Cons: the memory is good ,however my computer just identified the frequence to 1600,not 2133 ,i dont know why

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear the memory is good and working well in your system. To achieve the rated specifications of the RAM, you must manually configure settings or enable the XMP/DOCP profile in BIOS/EFI. The motherboard can not recognize the performance values of the RAM without doing one of the above. Once the RAM is set up properly, the computer will be very fast and reliable. This is a high speed memory kit that can work extremely well with a capable CPU and compatible motherboard. For any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us directly.

5 out of 5 eggsWonderful

Pros: Works great on my Asus Mobo M5A99FX Pro R2.0 All I did was install the ram onto my Mobo and it works immediately.

Cons: NONE!

Other Thoughts: When you install the ram when you turn on the comp it works stock at 1600 mhz. I just went into Bios and switched it to 2133 mhz and works perfectly. System bios and windows 7 both recognize the ram as 8 gigs. Works great! Love Gksill!

5 out of 5 eggsTHE BEST

Pros: I bought 2 sets of these last year I only buy G Skill have for years not once have I ever had a problem. Last year the 2 sets of 8 gigs were on sale for 90$ for both 16 gigs 2133. So I can run 8 or go to 16 these will last forever I don't O.C. And 2133 can run at any settings you get all 3 rams in one WHY buy lower Ram makes NO since.

Cons: For what I paid last years and the performance there are NO cons. With DDR4 coming out later next year there is no reason for me to buy more ram.

Other Thoughts: The only Ram to buy is 2133 it will default to 1600 or you can set it to 1866 for AMD or run it at 2133 for the higher Intel's for the Price being almost the same as the other ram 2133 is the one to buy and you will have 2133 forever to run at any settings.
