2 out of 5 eggs32gb not working in late 2013 iMac

Pros: Great Memory on paper, computer runs very quickly when it is not crashing...

Cons: Currently does not appear to have great compatibility with a new iMac. When I added 32GB to a Late 2013 iMac i7 3.5 ghz/4GB 780 M video/3tb fusion drive I constantly have kernel panics and restarts which disappear when I switch back to stock ram.

Beware of Newegg's restock policy, it's quite expensive if you want to return 32 GB of ram.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

This memory is not compatible with Apple computers. According to manufacturer specifications, Apple iMac can not support DDR3-1866. The memory you need is DDR3-1600 CL11; the G.Skill memory model is F3-1600C11D-16GRSL. This memory kit will work flawlessly with your late 2013 iMac. For optimal performance, it is best to have the latest EFI and iOS. Once you install the correct RAM, the computer will be fast and stable. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to let us know.

5 out of 5 eggsSatisfied

Pros: Good price, good specs, good brand.

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: Put them into my mostly stock lenovo w520 along with the stock 4gb in the other dual channel, worked with no setup required, computer recognized it fine, instantly saw an increase in performance.

Pros: can run at rated speed in my rig in single channel

Cons: could not get this ram to run dual channel, rma it is

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer

We are sorry to hear you had such issues. Test each module to see if they can both work fine individually. If so, they should be able to run together in dual channel mode. Also, make sure you have the latest BIOS for the computer. Commonly, updates are released to improve memory compatibility. For all further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly. We will make sure G.Skill RAM is working fast and stable in your computer.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic Fast RAM

Pros: I bought 2 sets of this memory to max out my Alienware M18x R2 laptop. I was very much expecting this RAM to run slower than 1866 Mhz do to the amount of RAM I would have and the power constraints that come with a laptop form factor. However, if CPU-Z isn't lying to me, it's running at 1864 Mhz, so pretty much right where they're rated for. 32GB at that speed in a laptop is crazy, and makes me very glad I didn't buy whatever RAM Dell would have put in my laptop.

Cons: I agree with everyone who's sad there's no sticker. This set is G.Skill's fastest laptop memory they make. It should come with a sticker! I wanted one so bad, I went on an auction website and just bought one from there.

Other Thoughts: I'm 2 Mhz slower than what's rated, but that's just being too nit picky at this point. Honestly, who cares? It's fast and great memory!

5 out of 5 eggsSpeedy Gonsalez in a microchip

Pros: I used these sticks to max out my laptop, and I must say it really sped up my system. I have an HP envy dv7, and this RAM optimized it fully in terms of memory. 15.9% usable (which is normal). Very nice, only dislike is that I can't have a sticker :(

Cons: None to speak of, doubt I'll find any in the near future.

Other Thoughts: Other components I upgraded at the same time as using this memory are solid state hybrid drives (my laptop has 2 slots instead of just 1), so that added to the speed of the system as well.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Ram, No Sticker

Pros: Looks good. Low voltage. 16gb. Got it at a good price.
Got mines for $125 and free shipping.

It Works

Installed in a HP Envy 15z with an AMD A10
Geekbench score went from 6379 to 6550
WEI ram score went from 7.1 to 7.3
WEI gpu score went from 5.8 to 5.9 and 6.6 to 6.7

The Envy clocks the ram at 9,9,9 28. Those are pretty good timings.

Cons: No sticker. I like stickers. I felt a little cheated when I purchased some of the most expensive laptop ram available and I did not have the chance to adorn my laptop with its glory.

Not the rams fault, but it only operates at 1600.
I did a lot of research on Richland APUs and they were supposed to work at 1866.
This computer downclocks the ram to 1.28v. Checked with cpuid.
Most 1600 mhz ram operates at 1.5v. I suppose I could be elated with the relative high end efficiency and battery savings, but I would rather have it work at 1866.

It will probably work fine in your Intel computer.

The price of this ram has skyrocketed. From $129 to $164 in a matter of weeks. I suppose the price is fitting. This ram is fast and efficient, but that is a steep rise.

Other Thoughts: Ultimately, I knew this could be hit or miss in terms of its speed for my machine. I missed, but at least I got this ram at a good deal.
I don't feel too bad about it. I got it for a cheaper price than for what most 16gb 1600mhz ram goes for.

5 out of 5 eggsawesome possum

Pros: fast, errorless, self-setting, battery-saver, cheap

Cons: non-compatible with my own head :)

Other Thoughts: Installed it to my MSI CX61 0NF-621US (cpu i7-3630QM, chipset HM76) with now problem. Tested with MemTest86+ v.4.20, passed. Now I can stitch two panoramas of up to hundred shots (of 15MP) each at same time, and it still goes faster then before (using MS ICE). With this improvement, and earier SSD installed, my laptop a jet rock crusher..
