5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: These will rip someone's jaw if not used properly. But if used correctly, they perform really well. It is 1.35V which means loads of power savings on a laptop and is also backwards compatible to 1.5V slots. I use ImDisk to allocate 8GB out of 16GB towards an ultra-fast virtual hard drive. I should say my games couldnt be faster.

4 out of 5 eggsSquealing Memory

Pros: It's memory that works like you would expect. Good clock rate. Low voltage for slightly less power consumption. Good value.

Cons: These, like so many other memory modules, squeal under high memory use, or memory hard problems. This is not a huge problem, and some people can't even hear it, but it annoys me to no end. If you are one of those people who can hear electrical noises (such as LEDs and other memory chips), then it's something to consider. If your laptop is loud already, then it probably won't bug you. These were for my wife's laptop, and it doesn't annoy her as much.

Other Thoughts: We purchased two of these for my wife's laptop (Precision M3800) so we could match the CAS latency and timing, since the chip in the laptop didn't specify anywhere I could find. Since she does mostly design work, web browsing, and some typing, the memory doesn't squeal all that often for her, and it annoys her less anyways.

We purchased these around the Cyber Week holiday sales, so we paid under $120 for two sticks.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear you got a great deal on the memory and they are working like you expected. This is one of the best laptop memory kits on the market. You get high speed and low voltage, which is designed for the latest CPUs, laptops, and compact computers. DDR3-1600 speed will allow processing power to be nice and fast for memory intensive work such as graphics design, 3D rendering, and the likes. With 8GB, the operating system can remain smooth even during heavy multi-tasking. As a result, design work, web browsing, word processing, and more can be ran simultaneously without a glitch. For any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsGood memory

Pros: Well packaged, and solidly built ram stick. Ram gives me exactly what I needed, more ram. I haven't had any problems installing or using it.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: The label on the ram is not a heat spreader it is a paper sticker, just in case you were wondering.

5 out of 5 eggsg.skill ripjaws rip

Pros: I have these installed on a custom Toshiba laptop with a quad-core I-7, I do also run a Samsung 850 EVO PRO 256GB, the speed I get from the SSD says it is 146000+ random read and 107000+ random write IOPS. sequential speeds are 10x ratings. I can run office pro, Ableton 9, and auto cad pro AT THE SAME TIME with no lag. these are the completion of my dream build. (I know I know it isnt a gamer but, for what I do it is much more than expected or needed) Get these you will not regret!

Cons: nothing yet. have run them hard and no glitches or lag.

Other Thoughts: this is the best I could hope for and the top of the line (until next product year....shucky durns its)

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: Dropped in this 8gb chip to booster 4gb of stock memory in a Lenovo E545. Difference is night and day. Absolutely no issues with compatibility or performance. Immediately recognized and speeds up all Windows 7 and software operations significantly.

Cons: Expensive. But that's just the nature of the beast right now for memory.
