5 out of 5 eggsGreat RAM upgrade.

Pros: Upgraded the RAM in my HP 15 series laptop. Installation was less than 5 minutes. I removed the 4GB RAM card and slid this 8GB in. Turned on my laptop, instant response, no re-boot required. Obvious improvement in performance and speed. This was a steal for the price.

Cons: Best

Other Thoughts: This is the second time I have used Newegg to upgrade the RAM in my computers. Free shipping, had it in 3 days. Best deal in town!

5 out of 5 eggsNice product, nice price!

Pros: - Used to upgrade my G751JM memory to 24Gb. I bought 2 of these.
- Works out of the box at 1600. No messing around.
- Price was good on shell shocker.

Cons: - Nothing so far. Have been using these for about a week now.

Other Thoughts: I already had GSkill Memories in my gaming desktop before and I've never been dissapointed. I highly recommand that brand to anyone looking for a great memory.

4 out of 5 eggsNot a BIG difference vs OEM RAM

Pros: Looks cool.
Reliable brand name
Price at time of purchase

Cons: No noticeable difference in performance / speed vs OEM RAM.

Other Thoughts: I bought two 8GB sticks for a total of 16GB in a new lenovo ThinkPad E550.

OEM was one 8GB stick. Adding one additional stick or replacing both showed no difference in the overall performance of the machine.

Thankfully, I was able to use the OEM 8GB stick in a different machine and I kept the matched pair of Ripjaws in the ThinkPad.

Because this was so inexpensive at the time of purchase, I can't really find fault with the Ripjaws RAM, but it didn't increase the performance of the system as it claims. GSkill makes good stuff so I don't have a problem with them, I was just hoping to see a significant increase in performance after installing two 8GB sticks in the machine.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Hi Victor

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear you think the memory looks cool and you got it at a good price. This is a great memory kit as it can unleash the full processing power of most laptops/computers on the market. DDR3-1600 is the maximum capability of most DDR3 laptop CPUs and an additional 8GB will allow the operating system to remain smooth under any circumstance. By having sufficient available physical RAM, the computer will be less likely to lag or delay during memory intensive processes, but it may not directly improve performance such as with OS boot up times, and other tasks that do not require significant RAM performance. You can notice a difference given an environment that can allow the RAM to display it's capabilities. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsVerification for Dell inspiron 11-3147

Pros: Good high quality memory. I can verify after a few months using in a Dell Inspiron 11-3147 it works great.

Please see Other thoughts below if using in this machine though.

Cons: None - great memory stick and quality

Other Thoughts: This is only for the Dell Inspiron 11 series (which I regret because of bloated programs running vs the capacity of the build) - while you'll realize a bit of boost in performance and on top of some nice room for apps open, and actually being able to identify which ones might be lagging your laptop, the top things to do for this machine afterward are: 1) research how to disable startup programs in Win 8.1 and which ones you can do this with for Dell/this laptop and do it per your comfort level, and 2) let the Win 8.1 updates for Important (and Optional 'Windows-only' if you like) run their course, which can take a while. This still won't bring you to lightning fast but noticeably better. Also run Chrome for your browser instead of IE. And lastly the SSD hard drive switch makes a pretty nice difference, but do your research on how.
Sorry to other geeks for length of this review but I got duped into this Dell for a fam member and trying to help all who did the same :)

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent RAM

Pros: Works great in cheap (from Wally World) Compaq Laptop CQ58, that I upgraded from 2GB to 8GB. Really helps to speed it up.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: As always, it's hard to beat G.SKILL ram. Have used many times in the past for new builds and upgrades.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome RAM

Pros: Works great in our two Acer Aspire V5 573P-6896 Laptops. This 8gb module MAX'ed these Laptops out at 12gb (4gb soldered).

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Been using G. Skill RAM for a very long time (AMD Athlon 1.4GHz).
Have never had a bad module!
Why would I ever use anything else?
