4 out of 5 eggsWorked on first try

Pros: - XMP profile worked without hiccups.

Cons: -Not as fast in benchmarks as my previous DDR3 2400 sticks
-Wish I would have gotten a higher speed DDR4 kit

Other Thoughts: I got a really good deal on this for the amount of memory included. I had 16GB in my previous rig and I wanted to double it with the new one so I picked up this kit.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Hi Tyler

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear XMP Profile worked flawlessly as it should. This is an ideal memory kit for any new DDR4 build supporting 16GB modules. Especially for the price and performance, this is one of the best values on the market. With 32GB installed, your computer will be capable of anything you put it to without any lag or delays. For any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsBest Bang for Buck!

Pros: These sticks are sexy and work as advertised. Turning on XMP sets them exactly to spec @ 2400 15-15-15-35 and 1.2V. No fuss.

Cons: None. Absolutely none.

Other Thoughts: $129 for 32GB? Its a no brainer. If you're patient you'll see them for $109 again I'm certain.

Consider also, that these overclock to some of the higher frequencies advertised on sticks $50-$100 more expensive. I have settled on a mild OC with tight voltage and timings if 2666 14-14-14-34 @ 1.25V. At 1.35V I've had them stable at 2800 14-14-14-34, but benchmarks seems to suffer a few points despite the expected increase.

With loose timings at 1.35V I'd bet you could take these as high as 3000 or 3200 depending on your preference. At. this price that's a whole lot of flexibility and a whole lotta RAM. Buy these before they're gone!

5 out of 5 eggsEnvy of your friends!

Pros: Works in my ASROCK X99M Killer after a BIOS update.
Works in conjunction with ADATA DDR4 2800 8GB X2 1.2V (AX4U2800W8G17-QRZ)
Outstanding price for 16GB of DDR4
Lifetime Warranty!

Cons: This RAM is rated at 2400 15-15-15 & my ADATA XPG gaming ram is rated at 2800 17-17-17, but combined they run at 2200 14-14-14. I was hoping for the ADATA to throttle down to 2400 15-15-15 but no such luck. Not G.SKILLs fault though as they specifically say to run in a matched set of 2 or 4.

Other Thoughts: So while most of you are thinking why would you combine two sets of different RAM the answer is simple, money! I needed more than 32GB of Ram and I had a quad channel set of ADATA XPG gaming RAM with 4X 8GB Strips but did not have enough money for two of these kits. My board would support 4x 16's so I ordered one set of this RAM and figure Ill order another set later. If your motherboard does not boot with these RAM sticks which mine didn't, refer to the memory support list with the manufacturer than update your BIOS. If that doesn't work your board likely does not support them. For now I have a very stable 48GB of DDR4 Ram operating at 2200Mhz. Along side a 5820K 6 Core 12 thread CPU, a 256GB Samsung M.2 XM951, and an R9-290X liquid cooled GPU.

5 out of 5 eggsMuch better looking in person.

Pros: The pictures first of all do no justice to these RAM modules, they look much better in person, they have a nice glossy finish.
This is a great kit from G.Skill however, I didn't receive a DOA kit with a bad module like I have been receiving in a lot of my RAM purchases lately, so I was very pleased with that. This kit also comes with two XMP profiles, 2400mhz and 2666mhz, both having respectable timings.

Cons: Zero to list.

5 out of 5 eggs128GB RAM powerhouse build

Pros: Seems expensive at first, but if you need a lot of capacity and you do the math it isn't too bad. They are only marginally more expensive per GB than smaller capacity chips but the size more than makes up for it. If you are building for upgrade-ability these will also serve you well. At one point people were saying 128MB of RAM was impossible to use.

Also it should be noted that I have already used all 128GB at once, and ran a 600MB/s page file to boot. So it is absolutely possible, especially if you, or your friends ever write or have programs that need a lot of heavy lifting in the heap.

Cons: The timing is a bit higher than I would like, but it's better than a lot of the other sticks of this caliber out there and at a lower cost.

5 out of 5 eggs128 GB working on an ASRock X99 Extreme4

Pros: It works, and it works well. Heat spreaders are fine I guess, and make it look nice. I got about 75 GB of samples on these things tonight and everything was running really smoothly. I previously had 50+ loaded on 64GB and things were getting a bit sluggish. I'm not sure if it had something to do with only using 4 lanes, or just running up too close to the limit of the ram.

I am running it with a 5820k processor that I will probably overclock here soon. Some internet sources say that this processor can't run 128 GB, but they seem to be incorrect.

Cons: Ram is really expensive. Unfortunately it is the way you have to go if you do music production with virtual instruments.
Whenever you ask computer guys about 128GB of ram they always try to tell you that you don't need that much.

Other Thoughts: It is solid right now. Will update if it ruins my computer.
