Piece of Garbage
- Pros: Rubber case.
- Cons: Rubber case. Its big. This failed in under one year with only using it a few times during that whole period. I lost alot of important information I use as an instructor because of this. It is also important to note that some recent Corsair Dominator desktop RAM (DDR2 10666 2x2G set) just died after two months of use. Corsair used to mean quality in memory, now it means garbage.
- Other Thoughts: I also find it interesting that they have released another set of DDR2 1066 2x2GB Dominator memory modules here. They are also failing. I would never buy or recommend any Corsair memory to anyone ever again. This is unfortunate, because we need quality electronic component manufacturers, not this throw-away lowest bidder made in China garbage that is being shoved down our throats. Not to mention we overpay for it due to a band name on it and yet it fails. Not a really good buisness plan if you ask me.
Pretty good
- Pros: Good size for a good price. The grip is pretty good so it doesn't slip from my hands and protects it if I drop it. Overall, a good deal imo.
- Cons: None so far.
- Other Thoughts: The rubber casing is a little bulky, and wont fit if there's another device next to it. Doesn't bother me much though.
Not Bad...
- Pros: I got this wit the $5 mail-in-rebate and free shipping. The price was good.
The rubber casing is nice if you expect to drop it frequently or throw it against the wall (so long as the cap is on it.)
8GB seems enormous to my old flash drive.
- Cons: Not a big deal but the light on the end doesn't stay lit up while it's in use, only when I plug it in or unplug it.
The rubber case is probably my biggest gripe. If you have only a few USB ports open, the case makes the whole flash drive too bulky to fit if there is anything plugged in directly next to it. It's like on a surge protector when you've got all regular sized plugs and then along comes a giant plug (like the old SNES and NES power adapters that take up about 3 regular slots.)
- Other Thoughts: I've never had any problems with Corsair RAM and I've been using two different products over the past 7 years. For the money, it's a good deal. If you have too many gadgets plugged in and your cables are cluttered, you're going to find this a bit annoying.
If you expect your USB drive to take some punishment, the rubber casing will do it's job.
I support Corsair, but I'd pick a more slender flash drive.
