Corsair's Flash Padlock gives users the confidence of having a hardware-secured lock to protect their data on an USB drive. Featuring auto-lock hardware security, Flash Padlock is the best way to secure your data while on the go. This prevents any unauthorized access or "Brute Force" attack to the data on Flash Padlock. Users can program in a PIN, much like they do for an ATM machine, to lock/unlock their data. An easy to use keypad in conjunction with lock/unlock indicator lights makes the Flash Padlock highly intuitive to use. Lastly, the Flash Padlock is fully plug-and-play, and requires no software or drivers to work properly.

4 out of 5 eggsNice

Pros: Low price. Extra security.

Cons: The cap can get lost because it's not attached to the drive. Only 4 eggs because of this. Also as others have said, it's bigger than a normal USB drive. It fits through the front door of my Xbox 360's USB port though so it's all good in tha hood.

Other Thoughts: It's pretty easy to set up a security password on this thing but I don't know how secure it really is if someone REALLY wanted the data off of it. I don't think it encrypts the data at all, just prevents access to it. But you could use a program like True Crypt to encrypt the partition on the drive and THEN use the password feature of the drive and then you'd have a pretty secure setup.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid, secure quality

Pros: The lock feature is a must for IT pros with portable data they want to protect. I have sensitive documents I need to carry, but don't want to fall into the wrong hands if left unattended or lost. Best protection available short of carrying a laptop around.

Feels like very good quality- solidly built.

Cons: This thumb drive is slightly oversized- it my block nearby ports.

Other Thoughts: Read and write speeds are good, not amazing. Locked thumb drive won't even be recognized by OS if inserted. After unlocking, drive stays "open" for 15 seconds- might be an issue when inserting into hard to see/reach ports.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great!

Pros: I'm so glad there is finally a reliable secure USB stick that is hardware, instead of software. It's so easy to use, and the auto-lock feature is great.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: The stick is pretty big in comparison to other USB sticks. You won't get anything in a port next to it.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This is a great flash drive. It works equally well on windows systems and UNIX boxes. I use it for storing restricted documents at work. No more worrys about customers picking up any of my docs.

Cons: None!

3 out of 5 eggsGreat idea implemented poorly?

Pros: Flash padlock pin is information is disconnected from your OS.

Cons: I've ordered two of them and both have had dissimilar hardware problems which makes me question their quality. Size.

Other Thoughts: I would really like this product to work properly. I'm going to try one more, third time is a charm as it were.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: Very simple and intuitive to use, an excellent balance between security and usability. A great companion for my portable applications (at portableapps.com - FireFox portable, OpenOffice, etc.)

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I actually bought 2GB drives, this size works great for me for now. Hope 4GB and 8GB versions will be available in the future as well

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: Small, Physical Lock pad, great storage, fast

Cons: None, so far

Other Thoughts: This is really nice, I'm using it for school to help keep all my stuff safe... the lock on it is physical, so the computer won't even recognize it if you don't have the pin entered. I purchased the 2gb version for ten dollars more, but it seems to be dis-continuted.
