Corsair's Flash Padlock gives users the confidence of having a hardware-secured lock to protect their data on an USB drive. Featuring auto-lock hardware security, Flash Padlock is the best way to secure your data while on the go. This prevents any unauthorized access or "Brute Force" attack to the data on Flash Padlock. Users can program in a PIN, much like they do for an ATM machine, to lock/unlock their data. An easy to use keypad in conjunction with lock/unlock indicator lights makes the Flash Padlock highly intuitive to use. Lastly, the Flash Padlock is fully plug-and-play, and requires no software or drivers to work properly.

5 out of 5 eggsSeems fine to me!

Pros: It was free with another purchase as I probably would not have normally spent money on something like this. Worked just like it was supposed to. Easy to set pin and easy to enter pin with these big buttons.

Cons: It's big, but come on, they send you an extension cable for this thing. should not interfere with other sticks as long as you use the cable. I don't think it looks cheap, or too cheesy but probably would not want to be seen with it in public...

Other Thoughts: the Lanyard words just fine, was not hard to attach at all...

2 out of 5 eggsHUGE!

Pros: The only + is that it is made by Corsair, whom usually make good items.

Cons: I bought this drive only because I seem to be collecting USB flash drives for some reason :)
I was VERY dissapointed when I received it, it was HUGE, the photo made it look about the same as a standard flash drive...NOT! And the plastic was very cheap/junky looking unlike most other drives out there.

5 out of 5 eggsKeep unwanted vermin out of your files

Pros: Corsair is well known in the computer memory industry. Just like the name of the product..the "padlock" keeps your files for your eyes only. Combination can be anything between 1-10 numbers. You can register the combo on Corsair's website in case you ever forget it. Comes with USB extension cable, which you need if you're going to plug in any USB device above, below, or to the side of the Corsair Padlock.

Cons: Doesn't come in any sizes bigger than 2GB. (not that I'm aware of anyhow). Comes with a lanyard, but it's impossible to thread it through the tiny hole. I'm a keychain kinda guy, and there is no hole on this drive, thus eliminating the possibility to put it on your keyring. The drive is a little big, so if you don't use the USB extension cable, it will block any remaining free USB ports on either side, top, or bottom.

Other Thoughts: Newegg had this drive on sale so I figured, what the hey, why not. I bought it more or less as a novelty item, because it's a great conversation piece. I really don't have any files that I need to keep that secret. 2GB is kinda small as far as flash drives are concerned. That fact, along with the fact that there's no possibility to put on a keychain are why this drive will be used sparingly.

4 out of 5 eggsCOOL

Pros: Cool, mostly secures your data (a truly dedicated person could hack into it manually I believe, but if you need that type of security then you need something different), and is easy to use.

Cons: Not TOTAL security (but more then enough for most of us). Also, not sure how to change the battery once it dies....

Other Thoughts: Great price ($10) for a nice product.

3 out of 5 eggsIf they want it they will get it

Pros: cool pin number interface

Cons: if they want it they will get it. this requires a pen number before the drive can be mounted. BUT with some know how, a paper clip and a screw driver, you can bypass the pin all together and no one will know.

Other Thoughts: they should have encrypted the drive with at least aes256 and made the drive tamper proof. This way if someone (like me) wanted to open the drive up it would be evident.

5 out of 5 eggsReliable. Just not good to the touch.

Pros: Reliable. Works as expected.

Cons: The feel of the keypad is not satisfactory.

Other Thoughts: Slight learning curve to understanding the logic of the board and its codes.

I hope that their research and development will spend some more time and money developing a nicer keypad.

5 out of 5 eggsWhy did this take so long?

Pros: Excellent security, buttons easy to use, instructions to program codes easy, option to register and store your passcode on the corsair web sight awesome! love this thing!

Cons: None yet...would like to see a larger cap. like 8 gig.

Other Thoughts: Why did it take so long to do this, and why doesnt every mfg have these out? biometrics are unreliable, but a key code YOU pick is fantastic. Also, the self locking feature is super nice and the ability to store your combo when you reg the prod w/ corsair is perfect! It seems to be built well. I like the size of the buttons (I have large hands so I hate tiny buttons) and the colored status LED's are great. Overall, an idea that should have happened forever ago.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid USB drive with security

Pros: 2GB of space; the pin code security feature is why I bought...much more secure than my previous drive.

Cons: None
