When you need your data to survive the apocalypse...

Pros: I own two of these things currently and may be buying a couple more very soon. I'm a web developer by trade and my work needs to go where I go. The problem is, I'm very accident prone so my equipment needs to be able to survive the apocalypse. Ultimately, I had to decide between a Lacie Rugged drive, the Corsair Voyager, and this. On one hand, the Lacie drive has much higher capacity (80GB+) for the same amount of money. On the other hand, the Lacie drive is large, is not water proof, and is only rated for drops of less than 3 feet (35 in). I won't be able to put any uncompressed video projects on my Corsair Survivor, but the 16GB capacity is generally more than adequate for the majority of my uses.
Cons: There's no higher capacity drives available... yet.
Other Thoughts: If you are really looking for a military-grade storage solution and you honestly don't need more than 16GB, look no further. If you're just looking at thumb drives, the extra few bucks over the Corsair Voyager makes this a no-brainer. Alternatively, if you really, REALLY need more space, the most cost effective alternative are the Lacie Rugged drives. If the Lacie drives still aren't rugged enough, you're only option is to hunt down an Olixir military-grade drive (not cheap). All in all, the Corsair Survivor is an excellent choice for peace of mind.

Great flash drive for hardcore abuse

Pros: im in the marine corps and I must say that this flash drive can survive anything. From mud to crawling under barbed wire adn the terrian courses we do, I always have this guy clipped to my belt, even when I went to iraq I had this guy clipped on the whole time, and all my data is still safe and sound inside. I have had it for almost 7 months now and it has not let me down since. This thing can survive anything. It got run over by a truck by accident. I've yet to see if it can survive a pistol round.
Cons: big. But for the protection level it has, small.
Other Thoughts: data transfer speed were pretty DARN good

Pros: It's a 16gig corsair flash drive in a solid aluminum tube with a water tight o-ring to keep it dry. How can you not like that? No pre-loaded b.s. on it like the drives with U3 (avoid these).`
Cons: The aluminum tube makes it kinda bulky, so while its hanging off my keychain everyone wants to know what it is (its fun to get creative with the answer). Transfer speeds on this drive are a bit slower than I've experienced with other drives, but it IS reliable so I won't complain too much about the speed. One of the rubber 'tread rings' on the casing feel off after 2 weeks, but thats not really a big deal either.
Other Thoughts: I would buy it again, though I don't think the corsair dog-tag was really necessary. I'm an IT student who pays for school working in a warehouse, so its nice to have my important things on my keychain at all times and not have to worry if they get knocked around at work a bit.

Pros: Works as it's supposed to, no issues. Of course it does not take a PHD to use these things either. But it's solid and nice.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: Forgot to mention that it is rugged, as advertised, my 9 year old ran over it with his 4 wheeler (it fell out of my pocket) and it still works perfectly.

NOT that Rugged!

Pros: The drive works fine and has been reliable.
Cons: The aluminium enclosure fell apart after 9 months. The end cap is only glued on and it just fell off. I nearly lost the drive in the street! The most extreme thing I've done with this was hang it on a keychain. There was no stress or trauma involved in this breakage, the thing just gave up!
Other Thoughts: I think the enclosure is largely for show. NOT seriously intended to handle rough treatment! I'm gluing and taping the thing back together.
