5 out of 5 eggsPerfect USB storage!

Pros: I have owned this item at around four years before I finally had to trash it. During those four years, it was perfect for storing data. I could put full programs on this thing and also store many Microsoft Office documents on it too.

Cons: I wish the life on this thing would have lasted for more than four years :(

1 out of 5 eggsTo light for a paperweight

Pros: 64GB

Cons: Do not format with NTFS; the drive becomes extremely slow, about three times slower than it already is. Since the drive is formated with FAT32 you cannot upload files bigger than 4GB. One cannot carry the unit in your pocket, it is encased in rubber, and the USB end gets loose over time and the connection shorts; I had to return mine three times, and now just sits on my desk. I guess I could always wear it around my kneck on the landyard; I am a computer geek, but not that much of a geek.

Other Thoughts: I have a PNY Attache that I have been carrying around in my pocket for years with no problems. Corsair 64 GB was cheaper than the PNY 64GB, so I bought the Corsair; but if all it does is sit on my desk, what kind of bargain is that?

Manufacturer Response:

If you need a drive that is more suited for carrying in your pocket the Survivor might be a better solution. The Voyager is rubber coated for durability but it apparently does not suit your needs.

1 out of 5 eggsDO NOT BUY!!!

Pros: It looks nice as a paper weight.

Cons: I had this flash drive for alittle over a year now and I have sent it back to Corsair 5 times already for RMA. It failed again and now I have to send it back for the 6th time. I have a Corsair 16GB that I have not had any problem at all but I wish I could say the same for the 64GB.

I plug it into any of my windows computers and it says "removable disk" I click on it and it says "Please insert a disk into Removable Disk" It will not format or show up in Disk Management.

I am not saying anything bad about Newegg they gave me free and fast shipping. But this drive is not reliable so Newegg needs to pull it off their website.

Other Thoughts: This drive is to fat to plug in beside other usb devices/cord on most motherboards.

3 out of 5 eggsJust Don't Write to It

Pros: It's great carrying around the files I need.

Cons: It might as well be Read Only.
Putting files to this is like writing to an optical disk; great if you can plan ahead - painful if you want to change.

5 out of 5 eggsWell worth the money

Pros: Great durability, accidentally left it in my pocket and it went through the washer and dryer...still works fine, no data corruption

Cons: Haven't found any so far

Other Thoughts: Some reviews claim that this thing can take the force of being run over by a truck...I'm not sure I want to test mine to find out if it works, but like I said, heat and water don't seem to phase it.

1 out of 5 eggsTrash: too slow to even use

Pros: None

(I'm a software consultant traveling from customer to customer who's owned 30+ Flash drives over the years.)

FAT32 Speeds:
Read: 24.77 MB/second
Write: 7.13 MB/second

NTFS Speeds:
Read: 22.47 MB/second
Write: 1.68 MB/second (if the computer didn't crash)

Unusable in practical terms. Causes Explorer to crash on any fully-loaded Windows XP or Windows Server 2003 R2 machine it's plugged into.

Has the unique ability to bring 64 GB RAM-equipped SQL Servers to their knees.

Other Thoughts: I am our company's VMware expert, so I regularly zip up numerous 15 GB virtual machines to a size of 4-9 GB each and ship sets of them to people (40-100 GB total). I purchased 2 of these in the fall of 2008 in order to store these VM's rather than having to use dozens of DL-DVD's per shipment. For a drive this size, I considered it perfectly normal to format as NTFS, which apparently is where the problems began.

The write speeds were so slow the bogged even my fastest computers. After three coworkers complained about failed transfers, I abandoned the idea and had to download special utilities in order to reformat as FAT32. Even then, write speeds were so slow any computer would bog.

These were both the slowest Flash drives I've ever owned, and I currently have around 15. Words cannot describe how slow these are. Not only are they huge, but they're slower per byte transferred, rendering them utterly useless in practical terms.

3 out of 5 eggsVoyager 64GB bon Voyage

Pros: Massive storage...the understatement; Rubber shell is an outstanding pro. Corsair will replace rubber caps at consumer's request.

Cons: The entire flash drive is too long; it is cumbersome, and is liable to get in the way feet and legs in an office setting, where the computer is on the floor. Rubber cap could be connected to the beaded chain, to keep from loosing them.
May burnout within a year, mine lasted six months.

Other Thoughts: My Corsair Voyager 64 GB is being UPSed back to Corsair as I type this caveat. I do hope that Corsair creates a fix to to this issue. This is a large and convenient storage device, I would confidently recommend to friends and readers...IF... Corsair fixes this catastrophic failure issue. Back up your data!

2 out of 5 eggsDisgustingly Slow

Pros: Lotsa room to store stuff IF it was faster

Cons: This is disgustingly slow. Pick another.

Other Thoughts: Will never buy Corsair flash products again. Neither flash drive nor SSD. Bye.

1 out of 5 eggs32 gb and 64 gb

Pros: rubberized awesomeness fast when they worked

Cons: they are two fast and burn up they also are to big for the chip inside to handle to much information coming in and it being as fast as it was when it was fast the faster it is the hotter it gets which means the faster they burn up. also got an 8 gb had for a little over a year now still working like a charm faster than the 32 and 64 gb

Other Thoughts: dont always have your thumb drive in the usb port which also is a constant power which well heats up and it burns up. slow it down corsair. dont make it as fast. tweak it so it doesnt take as much power that is what the problem is using to much power to be fast there are other ways to make things fast by using less power think about it
